Ridiculously excited as I have just found out dd is coming home for Christmas this weekend! We were going to go and collect her stuff this weekend and she was going to come back on the Wednesday or Thursday of the following week but she said most people are actually going home on Sunday and so she would like to do the same. I expect her to sleep for a week when she gets back after producing an essay a week since she got there (including during freshers week). Her last essay went in today and now she has lots of fun Christmassy things planned for the rest of the week. Can't wait to have her back Grin

Hope your dd enjoyed her birthday mumslife!

PUGaLUGS · 30/11/2015 18:27

DS coming home on the 15th not sure how long for though.

Him and 7 others have just signed for a house share which they can move into from beg of July 2016.

This is the first year I haven't bought advent calendars Sad

Bet it was lovely seeing your DD's muffin and mumslife

PUGaLUGS · 30/11/2015 18:27

Aww that's nice MrsB

MrsBartlet · 30/11/2015 18:32

I would be Sad about the advent calendars PUGaLUGS - in fact I think I would buy one for myself!

MarianneSolong · 30/11/2015 18:36

Offspring has requested Advent Calendar - via email yesterday. She won't actually be home for a bit, though we are collecting her stuff on Friday. However, she says she'll eat all the overdue chocolate once she is back.

Horsemad · 30/11/2015 18:46

DS took his Advent calendar back when he came home at the end of Oct! Actually, I bet he's started/eaten it already! Grin

He's home 2 weeks on Saturday Grin Grin Grin

PUGaLUGS · 30/11/2015 19:11

Wish there was an edit button...

Ds has finally been in contact but only because his laptop has broken irretrievably. He managed to lose three essays that are due in on Wednesday. Well at least I know what to get him for Christmas now.

GypsyFl0ss · 30/11/2015 20:09

19th Dec for us too. Another there and back in a day trip . Dd took her advent calendar back with her after her last visit and even manage to con me in to buying her a very swanky one rather than the usual cheapy cadburys ones!

DD seems to have a long term compared to most (13 weeks) - she breaks up on the 18th. She is, however, coming home Saturday evening for the night as she doesn't want to miss out on putting our Christmas tree up!

Decorhate · 01/12/2015 06:21

My dd is coming back on the 12th so we are waiting till then to put our tree up. As she hasn't been home at all it will be lovely to have her for a whole month.

hellsbells99 · 01/12/2015 10:59

I bet you are looking forward to that Decorhate! Although I think after they've been at home a couple of weeks (and coming in late/partying etc), we may be thinking it is time for them to go back!

Horsemad · 01/12/2015 12:38

Got a call this morning at 00:30 off DS - 'Hi Mum, need a dinner suit for Thurs evening, am in lectures until Wed afternoon, trying to order online - haven't enough money in my account...'

Hmm
hellsbells99 · 01/12/2015 13:24

Horsemad - is that because he is totally skint or because he is ordering one for £400!? Wink

seimum · 01/12/2015 14:29

DS is home on the 14th (coming home by train). Haven't seen him since early October, so we are guessing as to how long his hair has grown.
He is asking for money as a Christmas present

PUGaLUGS · 01/12/2015 16:02

When DS asked which time was best for me to pick him up from the station before booking his ticket I asked him if he needed a hair appt seimum Grin he said yes please!! Luckily for him I managed to get him one for the same afternoon, so I will pick him up then swing by the hairdresser before heading home.

Horsemad · 01/12/2015 16:36

hellsbells99, he had about £100 in his account, so not quite enough Smile tbh, I was amazed he had any left at the end of the month! Grin

seimum · 01/12/2015 17:19

Hi Horsemad - seems your DS's social life is going well. How is he getting on with his studies, given that he changed subject at such a late stage?

Decorhate · 01/12/2015 17:24

Point him towards Asda Horsemad! Yes Hellsbells, I'm sure the novelty will wear off. I'm already having to rearrange downstairs to accommodate her friends staying over during the holidays!

Horsemad · 01/12/2015 18:20

seimum, he seems to be getting on OK thanks. Never says much though...

He's joined the University Air Sqn, hence the need for his suit! He was even babbling on about cufflinks when he rang in the early hours Grin

MarianneSolong · 04/12/2015 16:36

Picked up daughter's stuff today and took her out to lunch. In many ways she appears so daft and disorganised, I am amazed that she did well in her A-Levels, gained her university place etc etc.

But I think she is tired after a couple of months where she's had to learn a great deal - both academically and in terms of looking after herself.
