Still waiting to hear from Durham

Would anyone like to join me in the wait to hear from Durham....feeling so stressed on DDs behalf as she is convinced that she won't get an offer (having been rejected by Oxford). I think that if she doesn't get an offer there she's going to take a year out and reapply....she says she'll be more upset to get rejected by Durham than Oxford. Just wish they would make a decision either way so she can plan ahead. Anyone else waiting to hear....why do they take so long?

Two years ago DD had four of her offers in by mid November.
One university (not Durham) waited until lunchtime on March 31st to send out their offer.

DS has two universities he is still waiting on (neither Durham but one the same one that messed DD about)
Its a PITA to wait but its the way it goes.

Yes still waiting, too. Very stressed about it and anxious on DD's behalf. She will be much more upset at not getting in than she was at not getting Cambridge as Durham was the place she fell in love with from the start and only did Cambridge as felt pressured into it really, which yes was all my fault.

Sympathise with all of you still waiting. DD got her offer during half term for Spanish and Chinese. I think she was favouring one of her other offers assuming she wasn’t going to get an offer from Durham so was pleasantly surprised when the offer came through. She’s booked in for the open day on 20th March and has got college accommodation (St Aidan’s). Have most of the DCs who’ve been on offer days gone alone? DH was planning to accompany her but I’m beginning to think she will get more from the experience if she goes alone. Also, thanks for the warning about the “Welcome Party” at the station - I will let DD know. She will be mortified Shock I hope those of you still waiting hear soon.

Zombie thread!
truelove While I went with my DC to some of their offer days I didn't with Durham because it's an overnight stay which allows them get more of the uni feel. DS went by train and had no trouble finding everything. He didn't like Durham at all though and rejected the offer. So I suppose the offer day served it's purpose.

Haha FakeMews! Didn’t realise this was an old thread - I’m quite new to MN Blush Thanks for the feedback re offer days. I went with DD to Leeds this week as we stayed overnight but she’s off to Manchester on her own this week as she can do it in one day. I think it would be better to do the Durham one on her own. She’s quite quiet and shy but I guess it’ll give her a taste of what to expect in September!
