This is our gazillionth thread.

We are not quite as evil as some make out.

We try to lose weight, eat healthily, stuff like that.

Here is our mascot

You're right SAF - BMI pretty much says 'Depending on body makeup your healthy weight will probably be somewhere in this range.' Unless you are a professional athlete/bodybuilder in which case you are a bit of a freak of nature anyway

At the moment my BMI is about 21-22, and I'm not trying to lose weight.

So - food. Lunch today is ryvita with pate and laughing cow light.

DS2 is going to get treated today, not only did he pick up a pair of jeans hold them up to me and say "Mommy, these are too big now you have lost weight" They were size 8
He then said "Mommy you are not old are you? Because you don't look old"

He now has an ice lolly.
Geez, he is good

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/06/2010 12:29

I have just eaten two crab sticks, but have promised myself I will finish off the tiger loaf and the wine today in preparation for tomorrow.

My kitchen is now better stocked than a fishmonger.

I think i went a bit overboard and ordered mussels, salmon flakes, smoked salmon, trout fillets, prawns plus knig prawns x 2, salmon fillets, scallops, river cobbler and roll mop herring as well as the crab sticks.

And I already have tuna steaks and cod in the freezer.

I think my logic was to have lots in the house ready to eat, as DH has a big appetite and will probably jack it in if he gets hungry.

I miss vegetables already! I think I'm going to do a big caesar-y salad type thing for dinner as our 'final meal'

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/06/2010 12:29

Lizzy, he sounds a star!

Blimey Bitter, I am moving in, sounds like my type of fish heaven

I find now I have the galette (just had it, yum) I am really not hungry at all. It is a faff n all that, but really tastey if you make it with tangy no fat yoghurt and then have a squidge of lemon and some chives on top, along with the king prawns and 0%total which tastes like cheese to me now.

SAF, you do look very young in your photos.

Anyway, I am 5ft 9" and weight seems to mainly congregate on my thighs, hips, bum and arms. I am now just under 12stone, 11.13lbs, Dukan has my ideal at 11stone 4lbs, which I know is a good weight, though I'd like to be 11stone. At 12stone my BMI is 25 exactly. So I am within the healthy range now. I have been hovering and jumping between 12stone and 12 stone 5lbs for months. Then have been 12stone exactly fr 3 weeks. So hopefully the plateau has gone and the Dukan is starting to do some good.

trilliAnasTra · 23/06/2010 13:04

What is galette?

Yay for good BMI. I remember some members celebrating moving from obese to just overweight

OP posts:
BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/06/2010 13:04

Lizzy, do the galettes keep ok? Could I batch cook some and keep them in the fridge to use as wraps?

I'm thinking about DH's packed lunch, too. Maybe a galette as a wrap with a filling, a couple of hard boiled eggs and some crabsticks?

(This is the greedy man who could usually sit down happily to an 18 item breakfast.)

Oh shit, I am going to have to barbecue him a cow, aren't I?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/06/2010 13:05

x posts Trills.

A galette is a kind of a pancake made of oatbran and egg.

Bitter, I am not sure, they could do I suppose, providing you are better than me at getting them out of the pan
Worth a go I think.

The galettes have definitely made a huge difference to my appetite and stopped me feeling so sicky all the time.

I am so looking forward to some veg on friday

Mittz · 23/06/2010 13:12

I have hit my energy drop point so could eat everything that people have mentioned so far in a big gulp.

Bless your DS Lizzy

Are you ready for Mr Suit ?

I am in danger of being invaded for a football party and have stocked up accordingly. DS is furious with England so far

Both DC's schools are closing for them to watch the match.

Thinking of you Mouse xx

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/06/2010 13:15

I am a pancake queen Lizzy.

I may have a practise tonight.

It goes against all your instincts doesn't it. to avoid fruit and veg.

My dot com shop is usually 50% fruit, salad and veg and this week I just got some fruit for the DC.

I thought they could have the same as us but with rice or cous cous and some frozen veg.

Mittz · 23/06/2010 13:20

My DS was off school yesterday and sent the txt ''Hey, I like cabbage'' to EVERYONE on my contact list.

I had not yet added all my MN friends and narrowly missed loading my ironing customers because I had run out of time.

He kept saying.. 'do you still love me Mum? As much as you always have?''

The answer was Yes until he then went and ordered 4 puddings!! (I had taken him out for a meal, he was in need of some TLC)

Now he needs life insurance..............................

hellsbelles · 23/06/2010 13:43

at Mitt's DS! LIzzy - your boy sounds lovely and obviously the Dukan IS working if he is noticing.

Mouse - my paltry trip to the dr with DD pales into insignificance with your day. I hope it goes as well as possible.

DD was an angel at the dr - who gasped at her HUGE spot. I said I thought it was Molluscum and he agreed but kept saying how big it was! So I now have creams. He also kept going on about her lovely size! She's going to be a 5 ft 9 or 10 according to him (which is no surprise as she's got the longest legs). I'd love to be that height (Lizzy - she'll be like you).

So at home we were pottering in the yard garden and I bought her in (despite protests) to ensure safety while I cooked her lunch. I turned my back to get stuff out of the oven and she managed to open the back door (she's never opened doors before) and fall out...banging her head and getting a huge egg shape lump on her forehead. So I've spent the last 2 hours watching her manically for signs of anything (though she is happy as ever) and facing the fact that we are going to look like a family of weirdos in my DM's wedding photos. DS with his black eyes and bruised eyebrows, DD with her matching bump and me with my black and blue legs. DH will probably be carted off by social services.

Seriously though I"m feeling like a shit shit mother. I am so careful and I can't believe this happened. I would have been so cross with DH if this had happened while he was looking after her....and she was accident free after a whole day with him yesterday.

Alicetheinvisible · 23/06/2010 13:43

Just a quick hello

Have read through but now no time for replying, ballet in 35mins. Hopefully DH is coming today.

I have been sat in the garden while my feet dangle in the paddling pool - lovely!

Goober · 23/06/2010 13:53

La la la la LAHHHHHH!

Day off for me.
Am scoffing a Dr Food pitta and a Muller light.
Burp.

Oh Hells, don't be silly, DD is just at that age when she will slink off anywhere and everywhere, I remember it well. And you will all look astonishingly gorgeous at the wedding.
Your DD will be my height with your bone structure and willowy-ness, not all lumpen like me.

A ha re: cabbage, Mittz, I did wonder!
I am looking forward to Alan more than the match tbh Mittz, have a very nervous feeling.
At least Mr Twinkly blue eyes will perk me up somewhat.

Have just been painting stones with DS2, a la Doodle Doo, had forgotten about the programme. Do I mention I used to fancy Chris from Doodle Doo now or will you all think i am SERIOUSLY wierd?

trilliAnasTra · 23/06/2010 14:19

Hells you seem so poised and graceful, it's funny to think of you being clumsy

OP posts:
LizzyLOU · 23/06/2010 14:22

It is isn't Trills? You look like a ballet dancer, Hells
