Evening all,

Had a lovely day but oh my goodness am I glad to be home.

FIL seems much more positive - seems like he is coping ok.

And the current litter is starting to sell, although about 8 weeks too late, but that's something.

A large glass of wine is in order I think, if I can persuade DH to go out and get me some.

Alicetheinvisible · 20/06/2010 20:45

I have just persuaded DH to make me a cup of tea

Feel a bit hungry, but can't really decide what to have, plus the cupboards are a bit bare....

Mouseface · 20/06/2010 20:48

Evening, tis me, Mouseface.

I have had the most brilliant day and will be back in a bit to tell you all, just dealing with DS and grabbing a vody and grape juice - yum!!

xx

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 20:49

Ah, I knew I kept him around for a reason.

After driving home for 2 and a half hours, he has now got back in the car to get me wine, despite the fact I am perfectly capable of driving myself.

wastingaway · 20/06/2010 20:49

Evening. We went to a classic car show this afternoon, step-MIL shows her VWs, so we usually go to a few in the summer, twas fun.

DH put DS to bed by himself tonight. No problem. I'm FREEEEEEE!!!!!
Shame I have no money, or friends.

Alice, was it a horrid weekend?

Bitter, good news on FIL.

BoF /

There's a dead bird in the garden I discovered when we got back yesterday. I've been putting off disposal, but it'll annoy me in the morning if I haven't done it. Fun times!

Wasting - lets just say 'AIBU to expect to be catered for at a weekend away with family?' 'AIBU to not have to feel uncomfortable in the house where i grew up?' (that is DH's) and 'AIBU to get really fucked off with loud and smug parenting?'

That feels better

Mouse - ooh, did you bump off the builders?

Bitter - What a good man

Alicetheinvisible · 20/06/2010 21:00

Hi SAF

DidEinsteinsMum · 20/06/2010 21:03

At least it is not like last year, when we had half dead fledgling. Had to call for re-enforcements to put it out of its misery. thankfully have a friend who is vetrinary trained who assess the picts, and age and avised. Normally we only discover the pile of feathers. the cat is ferral at heart. And no it is not my cat. me and cats dont get on at all unless there is very large doses of antihistamines involved

Ds has calmed and gone to bed. He settled after speaking to his dad. He is currently asleep on his floor in his tent (pop up play tent thing) But as he is growing eating me out of house and home and thus more likely to fall out of bed I have negotiated. He got want he likes, I got no arguement about hair washing and teeth cleaning

You have to be sneaky as hell to be a parent and stay one step ahead of them

How is everyone this evening? it has felt like I was drifting about in a dark room and i was about to give up and go do real life continue to boil hell out of burnt jam pot and something more interesting

TitchWillDoIt · 20/06/2010 21:05

Bleugh, will post soon once I have got things sorted in my mind but would like some opinions.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:07

Oh and I finished the Dukan book - planning to start next week.

DH has agreed to do it too .

I think it was the thought of eating steak and fish until it came out of his ears that persuaded him.

And have stocked up on lovely eggs from the chickens in FIL's garden.

TrillianAstra · 20/06/2010 21:08

Evening all. Wedding was fantastico, in a Catalan castle with tonnes of food and drink and cheesy dancing. I have a blister from the cheesy dancing, and I have seen some very impressive headbanging in a big white dress.

Just stuffing my face with dinner now, not sure I can read thorugh 600-and-something posts. What do you have a litter of Bitter?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:11

Hey Trills!

Not me, but FIL. He breeds Irish setters but this litter were born just before MIL died, so he wasn't able to advertise them etc as he usually would.

They are about 10 - 12 weeks now I think?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:12

Wedding sounds fab btw.

Mouseface · 20/06/2010 21:15

Heeeellloooooooo!!

Ok, read the pages I've missed.....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BELLA AND MRB!! xx You get less for double murder these days! Yes, I'm sure you've heard them all before. Glad yo had a fab concert.

Alice - YANBU!!! Sorry you had a shite time. No dead builders......yet.

Bitter - yay for wine and a better FIL.

SAF - Go easy woman, you'll vanish!! Dead beasts go in the green/garden waste bin in this house. We have heaps of mice and voles. The bunnies get them and only half eat them!! Yuk.

Norma - have a fab hols, I hope you are as pain free as you can be xx

at TC and the shiney AIBU ideas!!

BOF - the JW walk eh? Been riding have we???

Had a fab fab fab day with my family in Manc - sunny all day too !!!

Fab food, great chat and lovely to see them all. And I got huge hugs from my brilliant dad. I miss him.

DS managed to stay puke free at my folk's!!! BUT, he was so violently sick this morning, he puked his feeding tube out of his nose

Sat with a vody and grape juice wondering if I am hungry or just feel cheated cos I last ate at 5pm........

TitchWillDoIt · 20/06/2010 21:15

OK. We have some friends who we met thorugh DS's nursery, they took their DS out as nursery worker got him ready for when they arrived (you can see arrivals through window), fast forward, have been very flakey, excuses for lunches they have been invited to at last minute usually being DS has been ill and then I get that they have been arguing so didn't want to come. Found them nice house to rent but didn't want it as they couldn't get sofa in. Found nice house to rent ubt nealry 15 miles away from me so visiting will be less frquent andthey are upset about this.

Anyway DS birhday yesterday, their DS birthday today, party organised yesterday down at beach, phone dup yesterday morning, troper in her DH's regiment killed, upset couldn't make it very understandable, have tried to contact them since then, made one contact with her DH then phone went dead. Dh went round with their DS's present, not a good time. Have left messgaes last night and all today to ask if OK and please call if not and to confirm babysitting tomorrow. No contact, found new babysitter.

Problem is they have asked uas to be Godparents and hold christening here which measn clsoing for the weekend and now getting increasingly worried they are ging to bale on us.

Just mooching.

DidEinsteinsMum · 20/06/2010 21:21

sounds difficult and yes sounds like it is possible they will bail.

Sorry you having rough patch.

BTW we waved at you everytime we drove past on our adventures a few weeks back. Ds love falmer palmers, i wish i had brought a book. i got bored Thankfully i never travel without spare clothes

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:21

Fanny, sounds dodgy to me. I would avoid. How well do you know them as friends?

If you have known them for ages and this is out of character, then fair enough.

Otherwise it sounds like you are doing all the giving, and the only thing they are giving you is the runaround.

Only judging by what you posted, but for me alarm bells would be ringing.

DidEinsteinsMum · 20/06/2010 21:30

Am afraid that you have all appeared and i am going to bail for bed. Hope you have a peaceful remainder to the evening. catch up sometime soon. Night

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:33

Night DEM.

TitchWillDoIt · 20/06/2010 21:34

Ouch my spelling is bad.

Night DEM

TotalChaos · 20/06/2010 21:37

titch - agree with bitter. wouldn't commit to shutting for the weekend given the flakiness with arrangements. any luck with mending the bed, out of interest?

sounds like everyone has been busy and off to some very glam places, trillian and bella . met a friend yesterday and dragged the kids round museums and a bookshop, and went to the zoo today, so all good wholesome stuff. feeling a bit achey in knee and hip today, not sure if it's humidity or I'm starting on a weird fluey thing, was a PITA finding exercises avoiding bending knee too much!

Mouseface · 20/06/2010 21:39

Night DEM xx

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/06/2010 21:40

Does Lincolnshire count as glam, TC?

wastingaway · 20/06/2010 21:42

Eeuuurrghhhhuck. There were another two bird corpses, including a pretty fresh pigeon. So that's three dead birds and half a bag of cat poo off my veg patch.
She's a sweet little thing, but is a wild animal and is using my garden for her sport and toiletting and I've had enough!
I'm off to Range tomorrow to see what they have to offer in the way of anti-feline defenses.

Titch, not sure what you mean by getting him ready for when they arrived, but from everything else you say, I'd say you need to spell it out to them. You can't close for them when they're being so weird and distant.

Mouse, sounds like a wonderful day.

Trills, welcome back, sounds like a lovely wedding.

Alice, that does sound like a stressful weekend!

Night DEM.
