This is our 50000 (or summat like that) thread.

Some of us do wW, some do the Lord Ford and there may even be a little bit of South Beach in here too!

If you have loads or a teeny tiny bit of weight to lose or even if you just want to eat healthy then this could be the thread for you.

gigi - if you are really interested a lot of local colleges offer fairly cheap courses for beginners in dress making. I would love to get round to doing an intermediate level one. I lack a few of the basics and need to know how to adapt patterns rather then item.

Portia - rest i think is a good idea. I hope horror child is not too bad for you, but know it is going to be hard not to have a second pair of eyes in the back of your head. and an extra few dotted around the house. Have you poked ss with a sharp stick to get progress on the safe space?

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/06/2010 13:38

Just logging to threads i'm on......

All good here, apart from poorly DD1 and being v busy trying to get through my neverending to do list and bake my neighbour a birthday cake

Off to shred shortly and will be back later once i cave into DD1's constant demands for 'tele'

.

Note: this will not break your diets as it is a necessity on a wet & miserable day purporting to be the first day of summer

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 13:40

Hey crispy, good to see you. come back later wont you and help us eat that cake.

Alicetheinvisible · 01/06/2010 13:45

Portia - you will cope fine, she will be an angel for you

Gigi - i did a free dressmaking course at the local Leap adult learning centre (had a free creche) and loved it. I had never used a sewing machine before then either.

ULAQ - no pattern, apparently they are very easy, but i am so bad at following instructions, i get so lost. Hoping DH can do the following the instructions bit and i can do the sewing.

Helles - good luck with your nanny

DD in bed, not actually napping, but it gives us a rest from each other.

Felt quite shaky late morning, so made sure i had a healthy lunch (lots of iron and vit c) bag of plain crisps, a pitta bread, chopped carrots, chopped yellow pepper, houmous and warm lemon barley with spatone in.

Now can't stop peeing....

Mittz · 01/06/2010 15:20

Hello.. I fell asleep . Mmmmm Lemon Drizzle cake.

DS is illing. I think he has an abdominal migraine.

DC's Dad has just texted to say he is having thursday off to give me a break. . To be frank, I feel like a bitch because whilst I am grateful and it is a kind thing to do, I feel unnerved and suspicious.

Alice, you do sound a bit brighter and more settled. I hope that is the case.

BoF, I really wish things overall were easier for you. (( ))

Hells... do you have any other options re child care? In laws or parents? It is so hard isn't it?

I am overwhelmed with thoughts of wanting to be kissed. It is distracting and a bit of a bummer as I have no one to kiss.

wastingaway · 01/06/2010 15:25

Afternoon Shiners.

Mittz, for the painting sale.
Would it be appropriate for you to talk to the girl to gauge how serious she was? Where this is coming from?

I love the number sign, and everyone's tattoos of it. Like the 63336 advert.

Leptons, glad you got to see him angelic-like.

Portia, she's not too devil-like for you. (Or at least no more than usual!)

Alice, that sounds a lovely lunch.

Shredders, what do you think the feasibility is of doing the shred with a 2 year old hanging around, going 'What ya doing Mummy?' repeatedly and pushing toy buggy into my ankles?

I did read everything, but I can't scroll back past the last page and can't remember everything else. You're all wonderful though.

hellsbelles · 01/06/2010 15:57
Mittz · 01/06/2010 16:31

Wasting.. I just don't know. They don't 'see' a lot of each other. But I know I am biased, but he often shown exceptional maturity with friends that have problems. Giving the kind of advice I would give myself. He has been there for her I think through a tough time, but she can be a bit of an emotional yo-yo (who wasn't at 12?). Lots of text contact and MSNing. He uses Webcam and I always wave and say Hi, pretend to beat him up to make her laugh...

They don't hang out with a high pressure group (I didn't think)..

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/06/2010 16:35

Afternoon, just thought I'd say a quick hello before I go to work.

Hello

have a good evening.

Mittz · 01/06/2010 16:49

Hi Bitter..

The Dukan Diet looks interesting Hells..have you tried it before? I am a bit the same. If I could get back to the weight wanted, I generally stabilise..hmmm nuts are protein based aren't they?

hellsbelles · 01/06/2010 16:58

they are put not allowed for the 'attack' phase of the diet...it's purely meat (excluding fatty ones), fish and shell fish and some sort of oatmeal stuff. Plus fat free yoghurt and fromage frais...and lots and lots of water.

But it's only 3-10 days in the super strict phase (depending how much you want to lose). I can do that.

jetcat · 01/06/2010 17:35

evening all

wasting - that is the beauty of shred i feel - plong mini in front of dora or peppa pig, and i get time to shred upstairs! Mind, she is a three now, not sure she would have done that when she was two

portia - i hope things go ok, and you are ok

havent been on mn much today as rl cleaning got in the way! I have stripped all the covers off the sofa and washed them - i think its going to fun trying to get them back on, as its a tight fit

Hoovered and polished the girls' room, removed seats from dining table chairs and bleached and scrubbed them (they were filthy and stank)

Have then moved sofa into a different place in the sitting room (this is the sofa that is too big to go anywhere). It is now along one side of the bay, on an angle, sticking out into the middle of the room. I dont think it looks too bad, as the dining table sits nicely behind it (no dining room heres)

All of this, and i am supposed to be revising

wastingaway · 01/06/2010 17:59

Mittz, I was not at all popular at that age and haven't anything to compare with, but I do worry about the youngsters growing up.

Jet, DS comes and gets me if I'm doing anything other than playing with him. PArticularly dislikes it when I sit down with the laptop. I may order it when we get back from hols. Will try doing Wii Fit when he's there to see how it goes.

You have been busy though. My house used to be spotless when I had collegework to do.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/06/2010 18:40

Evening, glad to see the cake all scoffed

Wasting - I shredded today with DD1 (3.5) awake for most of it. She tries to join in with her butt kicks consisting of running round in circles and jumping jacks causing much hilarity. I think if DD2 were in the room (nearly 2) she would just look at me like

Jet, sounds like a wonderfully productive day. Once the house is sorted i am sure you will get a creative streak for your college work

Nice to see you pop in Shiney, come back later.....

DEM, how is DS doing with his Dad?

Mitts, any news from Romeo & Juliet?

Hells, good luck on the diet, i keep reading it as Vulkan diet

My big news of the day is that my fuckwit wonderful employers have graciously agreed to pay me the £600 they deducted. I did have to get a bit stroppy mind

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 19:43

Ds is ok, although his dad forgot to pack any nappies. Nothing major.

Have you had a good day crispy?

I am bored, my eyes hurt and i am almost ready to go to bed, but refuse to be in bed before 8pm.

jetcat · 01/06/2010 19:56

thats good crispy - i reckon they should pay interest as well

glad DS is ok unifying (i never know what to call you now) You take some time to relax

wasting - its amazing just how many jobs we can find when written work is involved I did have my digital notes playing in my earphones while cleaning though - i am hoping it will sink in subliminally

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/06/2010 19:57

yes thanks DEM, achieved lots and ended up £600 squids up and DH has arrived home from his trip away. You can go to bed before 8pm if it feels right, or how about a lovely soak in the bath to make the most of DS free time

Lizzy, i have just had a mixed seafood bucket from Waitrose (prawns, crab and mussels) with 1/2 and jacket pot and rocket salad. Thought of you whilst eating it

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 20:08

I have a half made top here that i think i am going to do some more work on. Just spent 1 1/2 -2 hours job hunting. Am from that i think. I have giant buttons and patchwork mag. will take 5 more mins then set up sewing machine or just crawl into bed with dvd. I have hot water bottle already. Too hot for heating, and feeling a bit chilled.

Am considering changing again jet so dont worry. what ever suits. I do like a change and to forget me sometimes. The healing power of change is very therapeutic

DreamsInBinary · 01/06/2010 20:14

Are we allowed to call you by your better-known name, ULQ? Or do you prefer to go with the current?

Crispy - well done

Alice - I hope you aren't still feeling shaky

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 20:16

Am thinking about going back so DEM will do now. I did need the annomity break when i first changed. It helped balance me.

Lizzylou · 01/06/2010 20:26

Evening all

Am very of Crispy's seafood bucket, from Waitrose no less.

Have been on a family trip to the dentist and dealt with the Diva that is DS2. All good now though.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/06/2010 20:29

LOL Lizzy, reduced from £6.99 to £2.29 no less. Cheap quality

Sorry DEM if you were trying to be anonymous . I have no probs with Crispy or Sazz BTW, just wanted to move away from my RL name a bit

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 20:30

Hmm. tis dead in here again. did we all discover rl in the crisis? Or is there just something really good on tv?

DreamsInBinary · 01/06/2010 20:33

I am starting to feel like a new name, too.

It is quiet, DEM. I have an enormous pile of ironing, though, so that may be a good thing.

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 01/06/2010 20:43

what sort of new name are you thinking of DIB? need something to get my brain working.

Sazz, dont worry. I would have said something if i cared.

I have top to finish making but got a bit stuck. turns out i dont know how to put gathers in. I altered the pattern ok. its just gathers that are the problem. And it needs to be done as the next bit so cant really do anything else.
