This is our 50000 (or summat like that) thread.

Some of us do wW, some do the Lord Ford and there may even be a little bit of South Beach in here too!

If you have loads or a teeny tiny bit of weight to lose or even if you just want to eat healthy then this could be the thread for you.

Wasting, it was a foolish thing to do, my fingers have all swollen up with the heat.

In bloody Lancashire!

Buggy pushing is an excellent exercise (as are the swings) we had a Phil and Teds for a time an the weight fell off when I had both boys in it. I used to go up hills deliberately (saddo).

Begone Bingo wings, just need to find some small kids in a buggy I can push

Alicetheinvisible · 03/06/2010 16:19

Wasting - i got this in fair

extreme length waterproof mascara in brown/black

and this in Milan

bellavita · 03/06/2010 16:22

Lizzy, make sure you rehydrate yourself. It is baking hot just sat out in the chair never mind running around.

King prawn salad for tea.

I have succumbed to a piece of the chocolate cake I made last night - it was divine.

DS1 is soooo getting on my nerves. I tidied his bedroom on Tuesday. Piled all the school stuff up - all he has to do it is go through it, bin what he doesn't need and stick the rest in his school books - 45 mins tops - he is still faffing!! We have confiscated his laptop and i-pod. He has homework to do - art which is a 4 week project - he thinks he doesn't have to do it this week. WRONG!

wastingaway · 03/06/2010 16:27

Alice, that looks good. I usually get the Intelligent Foundation one, but I've gone off it a bit.

Bella, do you think they have more homework now than we used to?

Alicetheinvisible · 03/06/2010 16:32

Wasting - i hate foundation. I use the benefit 'foundation faker' but even that i find a bit heavy for during the day. The No7 has got good reviews so i thought i would give it a go.

Feeling really sleepy this afternoon

wastingaway · 03/06/2010 16:33

I await your report.

Right, jobs to do.

bellavita · 03/06/2010 16:36

wasting - yes I think they do. DS1 will be going into Yr9 in September and I don't think he realises how hard it is going to be. He puts no effort into anything. His books are scruffy, his work is scruffy. He wants to be a web designer but hates art with a passion (although he doesn't even try) and we cannot get it through to him that he will need to have some sort of drawing skill to get the job he wants.

OP posts:
wastingaway · 03/06/2010 16:51

In year 8 we had to do a drawing for homework every week in art. Don't think we did any other work at home. Certainly no projects til GCSE.

When do they have careers guidance type meetings? He's going to get a shock isn't he, bless him.

bellavita · 03/06/2010 16:58

I think maybe towards the end of Yr9.

I have just had to go in and stand over him whilst he sorts through his stuff. Yes, he is in for a big shock. He has gone from getting no black marks (they are called ST's in his school) in Yr7 ie. if you don't hand in homework etc to getting quite a few in Yr8 and he doesn't seemed phased at all that he is getting more and more comments in his books and on his homework that what he produces is not good enough. Head in sand springs to mind.

OP posts:
wastingaway · 03/06/2010 17:01

Hopefully he'll see sense soon.

bellavita · 03/06/2010 17:05

Hopefully he will >

He is a good boy really. But I can now hear him strumming his bloody guitar instead of finishing what I he started!

Is it wine time yet?

Flying post - am off to parents' evening for the 2 yr old

Speak to you later

wastingaway · 03/06/2010 18:46

DIB, seriously?

'Yes Mrs Binary, your child spends all day with their hands down their pants, eating cheese and making illegible scrawls with crayons. She's doing brilliantly.'

Alicetheinvisible · 03/06/2010 19:13

Wasting.

Just had BBQed steak, minty new potatoes and salad for dinner, would kill for a bottle glass of wine though....

hellsbelles · 03/06/2010 19:30

evening

Bitter - I've emailed you.

Bella - good for you being so tough on DS. My Mum never was and always says 'oh but you were so stubborn I could never get you to do anything'...I am not going for that approach with my two...

Jet- hope little Jet getting better.

Yank - it's good to hear XH is recovering but I hope you are giving yourself some time too...so much to have gone through recently you must be totally exhausted.

Gigi - make the call...please. And your friend does sound fab!

Poor Norma - hope she mends quickly

Double glad you had a good time!

Lizzy - that must feel so weird having known that chap...are you o.k?

I have lost NOTHING. Did you hear that? NOTHING. (sorry for shouting). I have done 2 bloody days of this stupid french diet and it has made not a shred of difference. I'm doing one more day and there better be results or I'm going to cause trouble

Shiney - you still bored (well you probably are if you read my post)...or have you managed some mischief?

Mitts...love the sound of your energy today. Feels like sunshine.

Alicetheinvisible · 03/06/2010 19:50

Hi Helles Do you feel lighter/thinner? Is it a great big con by the french to make everyone else fat do you think?

I am off now to watch telly with DH, so night

hellsbelles · 03/06/2010 19:58

yes it's a big french con . I don't feel any thinner. I just have bad breath.

Lizzylou · 03/06/2010 19:59

Hells, am sure one more day will make the difference? Fingers crossed.

It does feel a bit wierd, his company was quite famous in our office as we rarey did business in Cumbria and the only reason I knew of Whitehaven and Workington was because he had offices there (though I did get them mixed up yesterday!).
I never met him face to face though, but he was v nice on the phone and was v highly regarded as a decent bloke in the Lakes legal community.
Such an awful shame, for all who were killed/bereaved.
The whole thing is really shocking as The Lakes are just so peaceful and you'd never expect anything like this to happen there.

Sorry, bit of an outpouring, 1 glass of wine and I'm all melancholy

hellsbelles · 03/06/2010 20:01

oh Lizzy- that must be unsettling . It does seem to happen in these calm, peaceful places doesn't it?

I must go - I have to keep my mind off food by doing stuff (not MN'ing...I"m too used to having a glass of wine at hand for that)

Night lovely ladies.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 03/06/2010 20:05

Evening all,

I've been sat in the pub garden all afternoon.

The weather was bliss, but unfortunately DD was tired and whingy. The first thing she did was pull a glass of lemonade all over her and me.

And DS was DS. Which was made all the worse by saf's DS being very well behaved as usual.

How are we all?

DeFluffy · 03/06/2010 20:13

Crap. I can't keep up. Half term at moment and when I do get on MN I'm playing twatty games with Steve McTwat and telling people off for letting their 5 year olds have FB accounts. I'm getting frightfully morally righteous on MN, it brings out the worst in me

Or the idiot that just said to a lying DH 'oh buy her flowers'. I'm going to puke. This is the 21st Century get a fucking grip.

Will all this rage burn off calories because I'm dieting and still putting weight on?

Where's SAF? She knows everything, SAF - Is my clexane making me fat? Because I'm eating less and even had a bug earlier in week and I'm PUTTING weight on!! My arms are now the size my thighs used to be
