This is our 50000 (or summat like that) thread.

Some of us do wW, some do the Lord Ford and there may even be a little bit of South Beach in here too!

If you have loads or a teeny tiny bit of weight to lose or even if you just want to eat healthy then this could be the thread for you.

I'd like to be an UmpaLumpa.

Mittz · 03/06/2010 13:11

I am not doing my to do list. I have a docs appointment that I nearly forgot.

Mittz · 03/06/2010 13:13

Oh, and hi Leaning .

wastingaway · 03/06/2010 13:15

Poor Norma.

Hello Leaningtower, v. long time no see!

Lizzy, outside now!

Lovely top Mucky. I haven't got too many USPs, just buying the materials takes me enough effort to consider the project started!

Ooh, Double glad you had a good time.

DS has been very annoying, but we've been for a walk and had lunch, and I'm expecting him to zonk out as soon as he gets in the buggy.

So, we'll be out for a walk as soon as I've finished this very important cup of coffee.

bellavita · 03/06/2010 13:36

Hi Leaning

Norma says to Hi to everyone.

Mucky, have a lovely time - see you in a week.

I have had a ham salad for lunch - was tres nice,

Glad that you had a great time Double.

Afternoon

Poor Norma

Gigi - fingers crossed for you

Friend has just left, was lovely, except her dog and my cat having a fight. Her dog has a few cuts and scratches and my cat is now a nervous wreck happened so damn quick!

I was bad this morning, wandered (slowly) into town (i literally live in the street behind the high street though) as had to get some library books back and was dangerously low on nappies. Got DH to pick us up though and apart from separating the fighting creatures, have spent a very relaxing day out in the garden. I got my tinted moisturiser and No7 lash 360 waterproof mascara (very impressed) while i was in Boots and as it was 3 for 2 on no7 DD picked out a nail varnish for me too. So we have both got sparkly pink/purple toes

Hipsters are very unforgiving too!

Seriously, do you watch your portion control?

Kerry, don't wear hipsters! Everybody wobbles, we're not barbie dolls, we're women.
Are you eating enough?

Alice, are you ok after your stroll? No pains? And what tinted moisturiser d'ya get?

Had to go back to Range cos the hose adaptor didn't fit and then went on to Morrisons, so I'm pooped and DS is snoozing.

wasting has hit the nail on the head...

Although I asked about portion contol - it is a fine balance of eating too much and not enough. I suspect you aren't eating as much as you ought to be.

You say you are going to the gym, is it just weights, rowing machine etc that you are doing or do you run on the treadmill? Running on a treadmill for me - the weight falls off as with spin classes. I don't go to the gym anymore (I should because it is an easy option for me with the weight, but I have enough to juggle with work and home at the moment). We do have a sports centre attached to the school where I work and it is free during term time for council employees - but the hours it is free does not fit either side of my working day. I would get a discount if I joined but am miffed that 98% of employees in the school get it free.

Too many carbs are not good for you either Kerry.

Food Focus in case you haven't seen it Kerry, it's just a free food and exercise log, that counts up your calories.

I think it would be definitely worth logging what and when you're eating.

Lizzylou · 03/06/2010 16:11

Kerry, I would take a look at weightwatchers or slimmers world. I knew a woman who ran 6miles a few times a week, walked everywhere and barely ate. She was a good 5/6stone overweight. She joined Weightwatchers, ate more (of the right stuff) and lost it all.
You need to get your metabolism working.
I'd also say that you need a good 30mins of cardio to burn the fat.
Could you do any classes? I find I do far more in Spin class than I would do in the gym and it does tone up your bum and thighs.

I really am good at talking the talk, you should see my muffin top in hipsters!

Just ran round the reservoir, it is fucking baking hot. I will also be covered in midge bites I suspect.

wastingaway · 03/06/2010 16:14

Go Lizzy! I was struggling to walk in this heat!
Big heavy DS in the buggy is a great workout for arms and chest muscles though.

bellavita · 03/06/2010 16:16

It is £36 per month for general members and £26 per month for council employees - this entitles you to swim, gym and all the classes. However, the spin classes are all on a late evening. I live 15 miles away from the school/sports centre so if I had to go back again then petrol at the price it is it would cost quite a bit to go there and back 4 times in a day.
