Have calmed down a bit now. Friend is coming up for the day tomorrow. I'm sure it makes sense to have car repaired seeing as i do so few miles now, than getting another second hand car that could break iyswim? Have spent a lot of money this morning, so it feels even worse. I feel guilty about needing new shoes now

Are you ok alice? Cars are bloody expesnive creatures. mine needs some electrial work doing when i get back. ds has damaged the indicator arm and it is going to need replacing before the mot in august. Thankfully it still works enough to be legal.

Its lovely drying weather out there. I am sat in the east of england and remembering how fab the drying weather is round here.

There really seem to be a lot of bugs around atm. Well, according to my mother there is always a deadly virus/flu going around, but lots of normal people are sick too. It is rubbish

I have been struggling with trying to get work done from home and have had to ration myself a bit off MN....and as DIB so rightly said I'm often watching 24 in the evening (which is really me trying to spend more time with neglected DH)....but I will try harder.

Today I stared the Dukan (or Vulcan as Crispy would say ) diet. It's so so boring. Eggs for breakfast....chicken and prawns for lunch and steak for dinner. I only have to do this for 2-3 days though so I'll manage. Plus I have to drink a ton of water. So far I feel fine (though I'm only half a day into it!)...but I'll report back. I weighed in at 10st 5 this morning so I'm hoping to get to under 10 with this 'attack' diet.

Well, DS had a barium (?SP) swallow in hospital yesterday to see if they can cure his severe reflux. They found nothing "mechanically" wrong in his tummy - back to square one...........

DH (AKA Frank Spencer) is demolishing the outbuildings - I have the emergency services on standby!

And DD is eating me out of house and home - what is it with half-term and constant snacking?

Mittz - hope your DS is ok, agree that you need to have him checked by the Doc.

Bella - washing load number 2, you win! Althogh last night had to strip DS's cot, thanks to the barium!!

Helles - is that not a bit like Atkins? All protein? I did it before I got married and dropped a shed load of weight.

After putting on 3 stone being pg with triplets (we lost them at 16 wks ) I needed a fast track attack and got down to 9st 4lb for the big day!!

It took about 4 months but was worth it.

And yes, I know how awful Atkins is for your body and organs, I won't do it again. I promise.

I stuck DS in as warm a bath as he could stand (technique we used for OAPS at Ressie home when they were 'bunged'! ) and we had results! So he has stopped being sick thank god. He would be so pleased that I have broadcast that on MN!
