Pie is because ds wont eat meat but loves steak and kidney pie. I means i know he is getting his essentials from that aspect of diet. Plus not being able to eat dairy and most of the stuff he eats being low cholesterol I need to make sure he gets the essential fats and proteins. He would happily eat both portion and no carbs or veg on pie night.

TotalChaos · 25/05/2010 19:04

Alice - I thought it was compulsory for pg ladies to crave potato products

lepton/quark - I wasn't implying a criticism - I am hardcore on myself with sat fats but dont expect anyone else to be. DS is a massively fussy eater - will eat sandwich/carvery meat but not meat in a pie/cottage pie etc or a steak or a leg of chicken

Alicetheinvisible · 25/05/2010 19:07

When i was little my dad had sole custody of me and we lived off fray bentos steak and kidney pies, sausage and chips etc and it was great. Not keen on S&K pie now though. He also used to pick me up from nursery in the summer and we would go to the pub where we would sit in the garden and i would have a coke with a cherry in it and a bag of crisps

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 25/05/2010 19:14

wasnt thinking you were but there is the hard core fraternity out there that still think that kids need a low cholesterol diet. And that any pie is work of the devil. Plus I shouldnt really be eating it as not great for my cholestrol or weight but tis unfortunatly an essential part of the diet, at least once a month.

btw - anyone need a smile

However has the little darling hs just hit me in the ankle with a golf club I am going to go yell a bit. hopefully catch you later. if not i have passed out and will see you tomo

Alicetheinvisible · 25/05/2010 19:15

Children need fat and stodge, especially very busy little boys!

Lizzylou · 25/05/2010 19:19

Total, I had never been bothered about pie before I met DH. He is obsessed with a good pie, must be the Northern blood!
Both boys like it too, but I tend to get meat and potato as I don't like that and then I don't eat any.
DH used to make pie butties, how many carbs???
Just waiting for DH to get back with DS1 from football, we meet him there and I bring DS2 back so we he doesn't have to hang around watching 6 yr olds all chase the same ball.

jetcat · 25/05/2010 19:31

Wow bella!

Alice - awww at the baby crib - baby shopping is the best part of being pregnant i think How are you?

Fluffy - you have a lovely gorgeous family, shame on people for making you feel bad When junior was born, all the nurses would say to each other 'wow, have a look at the baby in bed 1 bay 1' - she was very dark skinned with loads of jet black hair. looked really odd with me being ginger strawberry blonde. In the end, ex told them to pack it in, as he felt they were questioning him being the dad! I was too out of it to argue - but i still think about it now. Just remember - you are all gorgous

Yank - hope your appointment went well. I cant wait till i am well enough to be discharged Oh, now just read to top of thread and see that it will be another 6 month Its good that you are keeping on top of things, and 6 months is nowt! And i cant wait for sat either!

Lizzy - my shred dvd came yesterday, and now that i have laptop again (only dvd player in the house) i am going to buy some weights in the morning and make a start Weigh in is tommorow and i have ate like a pig due to stress so i figure i will need it Time of the month again - tis only 4 weeks since the last one - not used to this, my PCOS meant i only had 3 or 4 a year. I am so bloated i cant even jog on treadmill as boobs are killing

at the less butch olivia newton john comment!

Probably missed loads, but i have attempted to catch up!

New specs are on, they are very purple but i like them. Hair appointment is for friday morning, cut and colour £50, in whaat looks like a fairly trendy salon, so should be ok.

School meeting went ok i think, ot was fab - when teacher made comment about how junior just needs more practice speaking up and in front of people and then it will get easier - she stepped straight in there and said "no she wont, she has a communication disorder - no amount of practice will get her to the point where you think she will reach". Similar with the issue with PE, junior can manage running cross country (well, sort of but for the past couple of weeks they have been doing hurdles. I can imagaine that must be difficult for alot of kids, which is what teacher said, and who also said that a lot of kids will be anxious about hitting them. OT stepped in again though and said yes, but those kids will get better with practice. Junior wont - it takes a huge amount of coordination to do hurdles etc, and junior can barely manage to move her arms and legs together while doing something relatively simple like swimming.

i had to laugh at her today though (in a nice way), she was chuffed to bits she got to run all the way round in rounders. I was really impressed, thinking she must have finally managed to hit the ball, but no - turns out the bowler through it really fast at her, she ducked, and it went so far behind her that it took ages for the fielders to get it - meaning she got a full rounder - her very first one

MyCatIsABastard · 25/05/2010 19:48

Hello everyone. Popping in quickly to say hi then I am eating my tea

Mittz · 25/05/2010 19:52

Oh God Lizzy .... Pie.... ,drools. there is nothing on this planet like a good pie.. except sex after a good pie. (having had pie for pudding!)

Alice.. I wound up with two more loads and had to work out of home this morning/early afternoon, so it is still pretty mountain like, I have a large can of red bull as I am going to crack on through the night to get most of it done. I hope. How are you lovey? Have things settled down at all?

Jet, you sound fantastically positive xx How fab for Junior. Milestones like that are so important for self esteem.

I think that sounds like a good plan Yank. The more solid the foundations of feeling better the more likely there will be long term benefits. I feel fantastic in a lot of ways, which is good and bad, because I have gone back to the 'safe' place where I bury stuff, but means it is hard to access to deal with in counselling.

Sounds daft, but I sang today. Mum always used to say she knew I was OK if I was singing.. I haven't done much for a long time.

Quarks.. this week is running away with me again already.

I had ham salad for lunch and chicken, tomato and basil pasta for tea. Low fat rice pud, and a mars ice cream for puds.

I am struggling badly.

Mittz · 25/05/2010 19:55

Hey Mycat.. How you doing?

What has the drummer from status quo done? apart from put me to sleep with his drumming for far too many decades.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 25/05/2010 19:57

Hi ladies.

Well, today I have eaten ok-ish. NOt overdone it, anyway, which is a good thing for me.

And I played badminton for an hour, which was huge, huge fun! But I'm still knackered an hour after I finished!

Right, off to catch up. Will see if I can do one of my mammoth response posts!

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 25/05/2010 20:01

Know how you feel. only day i have free is tomo and that is only because i am procrastinating. where the hell has it gone?

UnifyingLeptonsAndQuarks · 25/05/2010 20:01

How was the badminton mrsW?

jetcat · 25/05/2010 20:02

thanks Mittz - am trying I love your new name I think i am like you in a way, find a safe place and stick there, though i know that i need to face things eventually. One day, maybe...

Mycat - i just told junior that her rounder was an illegal rounder - took a bit of explaining that it is not really illegal, just a term etc, but now she thinks it is funny

MyCatIsABastard · 25/05/2010 20:02

Well that's tea eaten gobbled down. Now DD is playing up. Every night lately she has some crappy excuse for not being in bed asleep! She's got dark circles under her eyes she is so tired. Bloody child.

I'm doing OK thanks Mitts. Tired with work and diet not going so well so am re-joining WW when I can find a class that is easy to get to. Not put any weight on but really haven't lost it.

Well done Mrs W, I'd have been a heap of sweat and bright pinkness after an hr of badminton!

YanknCock · 25/05/2010 20:14

DH reckons that isn't Status Quo's original drummer, or even their second drummer. So he ain't that famous (but most likely is a twat). We are going to see them in July for DH's birthday.

DH has been on top comedy form today. At the psychiatrist appointment the doc was saying 'so you are feeling confident and assertive now...' and DH said later 'yeah, I wanted to ask if he could give you something for that...'

Iggisfulloftayto · 25/05/2010 20:27

Hello, had very brief catchup so far so not ignoring others but..
Jet sounds like you and the OT kicked ass in the meeting today. I can picture the staff being all well-meaning and oh she just needs practice, but it isn't constructive at all if they don't really accept/understand junior.
Mitzzz - v happy about the singing, sorry about the struggling.
Off to read more and google wtf a lepton is..

Gigantaur · 25/05/2010 20:29

@ MrYank
It always seems like you two laugh loads, despite any trials/tribulations

Yay for Jet, you sound all happy and positive
Hurdles are a bugger, at sports days when I was about 14yrs old I fell over the first hurdle and just lay there dying of embarrassment, someone came and helped me up and I pretended I'd hurt my leg and hid in the changing rooms

Mittz, cherry pie and thick cream is my fave.
But that is banned for now.

Have just ran 4km, in around 25mins which is hardly going to win medals and I am very hot and sweaty but that, with the shred is a good exercise day I think.
I love badminton, MrsW, are you v good?

Total, FB me your address and I'll send the Black dress DVD.

Gigi - i read your thread will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Exploding brains? Sounds intriguing....

Stupidly decided to sit on the bed and sort some washing and now have more tightenings it is beyond a joke now

jetcat · 25/05/2010 20:43

god lizzy - i so want some cherry pie and cream now Actually what i do want, is sweet and sour chicken balls with chips from my favourite chinese, which i have only had once in nearly a year (when i was on my xmas break)

aww at your hurdles story. From the middle of the first year at seniors, I wasnt allowed to do pe at school, so could only look on in envy while everyone else did it, but prior to that, i actually quite liked the hurdles. In junior school, i was known for being the fastest girl in the whole school - only two boys could beat me

fingers crossed here as well gigi

Alicetheinvisible · 25/05/2010 20:50

Damn you Jet! Sweet and sour chicken balls
