I am Mitts and myself and this bunch of reprobates are trying to eat more healthily, drink MORE WATER (ladeees!).. exercise a bit.. losing weight is the goal of some of us, others are just treating our bodies like the temples they deserve to be... om om ommmmm!

Just spoken to MW and maternity hospital. Their advice is to do as little as possible, as in bedrest type thing to stop uterus being stimulated, as everytime i stand up/move/do anything i get a BH. Quite nice in a way, but managable really just for a couple of hours as have a toddler and 2 horses (DH is taking DD to work with him, luckily has a quiet day) i suppose the worst case scenario is having to do this for the next month/6 weeks as by then i will be nearly 35weeks and everything much safer if the baby is born. Hopefully it will really mean just bumbling about very slowly for a while. Feel really frustrated by it all though.

It means i am now sat on the sofa (by myself!) drinking a pint of iced water and picking at some ready salted crisps (really felt in need of salt)

Oh I wish I was closer Alice.. I would be your girl friday..

I think DD's tushy pox are infected. She won't drink unless I get a bit strict. She is seeing doc in a bit..

SAF - what a nightmare.

Alice - I know what a nightmare bedrest is (as I mention so many times (!) I had to go on strict bedrest at 23 weeks with DD until about 37 weeks!). But it's so much easier than having to care for a premature baby...so be kind to yourself. If you take it easy now they may not make you go on 'strict' bedrest so it's worth being good!

Lizzy & Mitts...if you do want to talk more on home business stuff let me know by email. I started my business from home and it has been good for me..Lizzy I know you don't want to now but maybe when you've had more time to have a think through your options.

Double - exciting trip!

Lizzylou · 18/05/2010 13:41

SAF, that all sounds horrendous.

Alice, rest up!

Vinny, glad that you can now get yourself sorted.

OK, so you lot obviously know my body/moods better than I do, guess what showed up a week early? Yup.
At least I know wny I am a gibbering overblown mess now

Thanks for putting up with my rants and moans.

Alicetheinvisible · 18/05/2010 13:45

Helles - do you mind me asking why you had to?

SAF - bloody nightmare. Have you tried CAB?

Vinny - hopefully things will improve now they know what they are dealing with

Mitts - you are just lovely

Instructions - no help i'm afraid, i don't dye my hair.

DD has been to work with DH, and they have done the shopping. She should be happy enough playing here for the afternoon - thank god for cbeebies!!

hellsbelles · 18/05/2010 13:45

We just so in tune with each other now Lizzy that we know each others cycles

Alicetheinvisible · 18/05/2010 13:46

Lizzy - it is always nice to have a reason and we are always here for you to moan too.

NormaSknockers · 18/05/2010 13:48

Alice - please do try & rest as much as possible. I went into pram labour with DS at 33 weeks & ended up being transferred to another hospital 2 & a half hours away. If the MW has told you to rest then please do it....if you don't I will be forced to come up there & sit on you to stop you doing to much

Vinny sorry to hear you have to go back for more tests but pleased the GP is pushing forward with things & trying to get you some answers

Lizzy That also explains your scales being horrid to you!

hellsbelles · 18/05/2010 13:49

Alice - no problem (I've bored everyone on here with it numerous times). I had to have 4 D&C's between DS & DD due to missed miscarriages...which in turn lead to an incompetent cervix (emergancy stitch at 23 weeks)....but the stitch didn't stop the cervix shortening so then I had to do the bedrest. All fine in the end though (though I did nearly go mad...and to think I hadn't even discovered mumsnet...I could have been the most prolific poster ever with all the time I had!!)

NormaSknockers · 18/05/2010 13:51

pram labour? I meant prem labour

NormaSknockers · 18/05/2010 13:52

pram labour would be very very bad! But Norma is right Alice.

Norma - I'm fine - honestly - this was some time ago and I have gorgeous girl now - so all worth it. Alice just asked why I was on bed rest so I was explaining

Vinny - well not good that thyroid is worse but thank goodness you will get treated now!

Bitter what a pain with your DH (mine going through similar but not resisting iyswim).

Now I've got to use my time at home productively so I'm going to do some sorting. My worst kind of chore. I did manage to get excited about finding a storage solution for DS's lego...but that's just shopping so it doesn't count . Now I have to do some proper work! See you all later.

NormaSknockers · 18/05/2010 14:19

Have fun sorting hells....though I'm not sure 'fun' is the right term Glad you're ok though, very brave
