Lizzy

Hells- let's do strangers on a train, I'll kill yours you kill mine

jetcat · 17/05/2010 15:38

that reminds me of junior in year 2 Came home really upset and told me that her teacher had shouted at her and called her lazy I was at work the next day and couldnt go in, so i sent a really stroppy letter in.

Next thing i know, the headteacher rings me at work, saying the teacher is in tears and there is no way she would have said that. Eventually, junior admitted that she just thought the teacher thought she was lazy I was mortified

Fluffy - i think it is normal and all kids do it - i know mine still does it now

Hells - sorry for poorly dd

YanknCock · 17/05/2010 15:39

Fuck.

XMIL phoned to say XH in hospital with meningitis!! Have been on and off phone with her and hospital for last few hours, gone off and hired a car so I don't need DH to take me anywhere.

XPILs are stopping by here on their way up from Bristol, they don't know where hospital is, so am taking them over there. I probably won't go see XH, I'm sure he doesn't want to see me, and can't bring DS or me in there with our germs anyway. But can at least make sure his parents get there ok. Have offered for them to stay here as we're quite close to hospital, but sounds like XH's work has paid for a hotel for them already.

XH has had surgery already and now has a drain to take the fluid off his brain. I really really hope he is ok

jetcat · 17/05/2010 15:45

Lordy Yank - you are really going through it You know, if you need to postpone our shopping trip, thats ok, as bloomin heck woman - talk about having a rough time

How lovely of you to offer to have them though

jetcat · 17/05/2010 15:46

errrm, meant how lovely to offer to have ex's parents

Lizzylou · 17/05/2010 15:47

Oh Goodness Yank, hope he is OK. Well done on making sure exPIL's get there.

Have just covered myself in calamine lotion, all down my jeans, have rescued the carpet.
Caught DS2 lying on the carpet rubbing his back up and down so figured he needed some lotion on. He hates me putting it on him though.

jetcat · 17/05/2010 16:05

Lizzy, i must have been really lucky with mini, as she didnt really itch mutch - she only ended up with a sock on her hand to stop her seeing the big spot under it She did have a little piriton though, mainly to help her sleep.

Hope he is over the worst of it!

Lizzylou · 17/05/2010 16:09

Jet, he hasn't been ill at all, he is just covered in spots, on his eyelid, in his ear, in his hair, his groin, his back is just pox ridden. DS1 had the pox when he was about 22mths (when I was heavily pg with DS2) and he hardly had any spots, he was poorly for a day or two though.
They do say that it's best for them to have it young.

We've been trying to look on the bright side, he could have got it just before/during our holiday, so it's not so bad.

They are both playing outside now, am hoping a bit of sunshine will help.

Lizzylou · 17/05/2010 16:09

I think you're right Jet, it must be the bloody Volcanic ash!

DeFluffy · 17/05/2010 16:10

Yank - that's terrible, are you anywhere near us so we can help? Midlands ish. Fingers crossed his recovery is speedy.

Lizzy - pink lotion all over jeans, not good, poor little ds though

Any good torture tips for dd for when she gets back? I might force her to watch a Thomas the Tank Engine dvd I got from America where all the accents are obviously USA and terrible (sorry yank )

jetcat · 17/05/2010 16:16

thats good Lizzy - fingers crossed for the sunshine

DidEinsteinsMum · 17/05/2010 16:29

hellsbelles · 17/05/2010 16:31

yank . Bloody hell. How awful. No you mustn't go near (actually there are types that aren't infectious but I can never remember how that works...I'm sure Trills will know).

Fluff - good plan

DidEinsteinsMum · 17/05/2010 16:37

Menegitis, as i recall is not air born, but contact and i think pretty close contact. There was a case here where sharing drinks spread it, tounsil cleaning i recall being another way it spreads.
Hope he is ok yank.

meningitis is strictly an infection of the meningis membrane surrounding the brain. Which is what causes the brain swelling. It can be viral or bacterial in origin but can be caused, i believe, as a result of head trauma when infection has gotten in. Sure trills will correct if i remember this incorrectly. CBA to google to check.
