Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

I am dressed!!!

We have made banana and sultana fairy cakes with cream cheese icing - there go my good intentions

Double - how tall are you? I was not going to get any maxi dresses as i am only 5'3" (and a half) but saw some short people wearing them at the races and looked good, so thinking about getting/making some as would be compatible with a bump!

wastingaway · 03/05/2010 12:09

Hello. I've been trying to catch up, but DS grabs me and makes me get up.

I always use the chocolate test.

Weather's been haywire here today, so not sure what we're doing.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 12:18

I would love a maxi dress for my holiday - might see if I can put that on the list when Shiney and I go shopping.

Alice those fairy cakes sound delish!

Not sure what to have for lunch (it needs to be not a lot in calories seen as I have just shovelled down 2 chocolates and 4 chocolates last night).

Morning/afternoon all. Busy day of diy here. Now have so much stuf in DS's room, that if I wanted to fix another ikea unit in there, it'd have to be on the ceiling! (hmm - could it work??)

bellavita · 03/05/2010 12:28

new thread for when we finish this one

Lizzylou · 03/05/2010 12:38

Having a break from the decorating, it is easier today though...

Double my friend is like that, she has a very long slender neck and slim shoulders, even though we are same height she looks taller.

style guru's Tracey and LTEC always say that look at Nicole Ritchie for proof that maxi's look gorgeous on petite ladies! So go for it Alice.

Alice - I do the chocolate test too!

SAF - glad to hear he's recovered. Stubbed toes are horrible.

Fluff - what happened with SIL?

hellsbelles · 03/05/2010 12:52

after a long silence (and missing the payback deadline (that he promised) for borrowed money)...dear papa has sent an email and guess what? He wants to borrow more. Do I have mug stamped on my forehead?

urghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/05/2010 12:54

Hells - don't do it.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 12:57

Hells, please don't. This will just go on forever, you know that don't you

Be strong.

hellsbelles · 03/05/2010 12:59

Fanny - it is now third time in a row and I really think I'm done. I'm going to meet up with my brothers and try and agree how to deal with the situation. Offer help that doesn't involve cash if that makes sense?

It's really upsetting me as my first instinct is just to give it to him but I know it can't go on like this (and I know you've just been through similar so you understand!)

hellsbelles · 03/05/2010 13:00

sorry Bella x-post! I will do something but just not cash. I have two amazing brothers and no doubt between the three of us we'll work out some solution.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 13:01

Did he say why he needed it? Is it just for day to day living?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/05/2010 13:01

It is very difficult though when it is family don't know the background but sounds like a good idea sorting something out as a group.

hellsbelles · 03/05/2010 13:06

That was what it was last few times Bella but now he needs it to get back to the UK and he has my half brother with him so it makes it more complicated (as he is just a little boy and it's very hard to think of him being in difficulties to)...it is a very long and complicated back story.

It may be that rather than give him cash we do actually buy the tickets directly so at least then we know it's being used properly rather than just to line my stepmother & her family's pockets. Anyway - will wait till have chatted to DB's.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 13:09

Oh hells, families eh? I hope you manage to talk to your brothers soon. Buying the tickets directly for him sounds like a good idea. Stay strong x.

SAF - the first time he came to me on my own and I lent it to him (which he didn't pay back)...I discussed it later with brothers and they were very upset that I didn't involve them so the 2nd time he came to me again I told him it was going to be all three of us (although one DB is broke so mostly just myself and other brother!). Again he didn't pay it back and now it's all three he has emailed.

Anyway - as you say I'm very lucky that I can talk it through with DB's and we are determined to work together on this rather than let him divide us on it.

ENough on this anyway. As Bella says - Families!! Who'd have them??!?!?

Lunch today - our favourite sausage stew - and DH made it! And he let me lie in (till 8am!). Bliss

Crispy, definitely 'character building' on leaving DD2 stuck

Fanny, I used to be a diet coke (well, Pepsi) person in the morning too. Am trying to cut down due to the expense, and considering giving up aspartame altogether.

Tried sugar free squash mixed with tesco value carbonated water as a cheap pop alternative and it is really really nice! But the squash still has aspartame in it, as do our muller light yogurts Going to be hard to get rid of this stuff.

Alice, how exciting about the money coming in!

Mitts, OUCH! at nipple piercing

I have no tattoos, ears are each pierced twice (second hole on one side done by myself with a safety pin whilst pissed).

VT, is that the old Clash of the Titans or the new one?

tracey, sympathies, DS has been biting me for two months now and even though he has no teeth it really hurts and is very annoying!

SAF, I'm the diy one in our house, MrCock is lucky to have me

hells, hope you and brothers can agree a strategy.

DH has strimmed the front garden and raked it all up, yay, but said 'we might need some gaffer tape' because he nicked the cord after I specifically pointed out he needed to be more careful! He nearly took out the washing line last year with the hedge trimmers--tries to do things too fast!
