Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

Aah, do you think you are intolerant to wheat?
My friend was diagnosed as coeliac, last weekend she was saying that if you register with specialist firms on the internet they send you hampers of specialist stuff free.
It is pricey the "Free From" stuff, I was shocked.
She is just getting her head round it, we went to an Italian restaurant that had gluten free pasta and pizza which was purely by chance but made her feel better about the whole thing.

Lizzylou · 01/05/2010 10:42

SAF I have an anchovy paste I put on rice cakes, it's nice.
Like you, I like strong flavours.

It is from Tesco, SAF, it is in a toothpaste type tube, more to add to cooking I think than to have on it's own. But just a smidgeon gives you a good flavour hit.

SAF the specialist ingredients bit, where they have things like Wasabi and unusual oils. It is in a white tube.

Where is beautiful Bella this morning? Baking or shopping I'll wager

Morning!

DS had a feed and some Calpol and then slept through til 8.30!

I love strong flavours too, and textures. Peanut butter on celery sticks with raisins is a fave. Or cheese on crackers with chutney. Mix of testures and flavours, yum.

We're odd out to Morrisons in a bit for cupcake ingredients.
Off to my Aunty's tomorrow for dinner and they've yet to experience my fabulous baking.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 11:51

Hello again!

My parents can't take both DC's as the car seat is in the car with DH at work. Gah!

They have very kindly taken them for a walk so I can MN blitz the house before they take DS back with them.

wrt DS - It is exhausting keeping up with him, he never just 'plays with his toys'.

I agree I have to admire his initiative and creativity though.

He is a bright boy - Dunno where he got that from (wink)

The anchovy paste in Tesco is in the same aisle as the anchovy fillets in jars. Aisle 18 if you are in the one I work at

I always add it to lamb dishes. I don't know why, it just makes it taste extra 'lamby'

Wasting - yay for your lie in. Cupcakes sound fab.

I can't bake for toffee. I like to think I am a fairly competent cook but can't get to grips with baking.

Oh, except rasberry and white choc cheesecake muffins. They always go down a storm.

Better go look like I've made an efffort to clean.

Lizzylou · 01/05/2010 11:55

Bitter I bought the paste to smear on lamb before roasting, the rice cake taste sensation was a happy surprise

Get your rubber gloves back on!

Saf, It's WF that I work at!

I'll have a sneaky look tonight and get you a definite location for the anchovy paste, as they are always swapping stuff around.

You must be really local to me then!

Agree to the park. It is mind numbingly dull.

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 12:44

just got back for M&S, have bought my Nan a lovely pearl necklace and earings to match, a white cardigan (because she loves white) and a neck scarf with pretty flower pattern on it

Also ordered a card from hallmark, its front cover is an OK magazine spoof, with pictures of her, and little captions like 'Vinnys nan celebrates in style', 'greeted in the street by fans' and 'off with their heads'

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 12:45

we are going to the restaurant at 4pm, then back to my parents house for a little party

best get showered and changed while ds2 is having a nap!

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 12:48

saf the finnster would kill you for an olive, they are his favorite! strange boy

Lizzylou · 01/05/2010 12:51

Awww, lucky Nan!
Have fun Vinny, you sound all giddy and excited

hellsbelles · 01/05/2010 12:59

Vinny - what lovely pressies. Lucky Nana! Have a wonderful time today...I know it's amazing that you are getting to celebrate this.

Morning everyone

I do NOT have fish breath, well, OK just a bit

Oh Saf I do loathe the park, not so bad now they are a bit bigger and they go off a bit more, but yes, mind numbing.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 13:37

Hello!

I have completely cleaned the living room and downstairs - just need to finish the kitchen then I can tackle the nuclear winter upstairs.

I am eating pate on toast which is good for the soul, if not the waist

But I was very good because my mum bought me a pecan Danish, which I politely refused.

Saf, that's so weird, I wonder if I've had an argument with you before?
