Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

Morning, ladies.

I know I said I wasn't going to get online this morning, but I had to send an urgent email and couldn't resist this damn thread!

SAF - of course no one dislikes you. Well I certainly don't, I don't even know you. Anyway, glad the thread got settled down in the end.

Hopefully it really is the beginning of a new beginning.

I lost 1lb. Now at 9st 6.5lb.

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 08:19

Hello MrsW, im not supposed to be here this weekend either but had to share my good news about my 2 lb loss

Well done on your 1 lb off!

whats up with saf? what did i miss? (havent read thread yet)

the finnster is all excited about birthday celebrations today, he has told me i am not allowed to stand under the shower i just have to get dressed quickly so we can go now! i dont think so son

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 08:21

2lb!!??? Well done you

VT - read the thread. I'm sure no one, SAF included, wants it all discussed again.

I'm taking the two oldest to their dance classes this morning - DD1 to street dancing, DD2 to ballet.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 08:26

And that didn't mean to sound as stroppy as it ended up!

Is it the Finnster's birthday today? What are you doing? Wipe your pits with a baby wipe.

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 08:29

my lovely nans is 90th today

it is extra special as she was diagnosed with leukemia last august and was only give 3 to 6 months but she is still here, and doing really well, she is strong as a ox

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/05/2010 08:29

Morning all!

I think someone out there is looking out for me. I got out all the ingredients to make some fairy cakes (was going to make bright red ones) and my scales are broken!
I probably could of done it without them but im seeing it as a sign.

Have been very good and only had half a sugar in my coffee this morning.
Have promised DS a warm milk and a cake in Costas later though so im going to have to summon up superhero inner strength so I can ignore the chocolate caramel shortbread.

I see everyone got nice and drunk merry last night. I had my little glass of vodka and watched some old episodes of House.
One day when I grow up im going to marry Dr Gregory House. It's my lifes ambition!

VinegarTits · 01/05/2010 08:30

must prove read

should say 'my lovely Nan is 90 today!' gah

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/05/2010 08:34

Happy Birthday to your Nan Vinegar.
My Grandma is 89 this year so not far behind her! It's really funny when you have to confirm hospital appts etc (she's disabled and lives with my parents so I try to help as much as I can because they arnt exactly young either!) and the person on the other line always repeats her date of birth with a slight question in their voice. "1921? Are you sure??"

DreamsInBinary · 01/05/2010 08:34

Morning all

Last night's party looked fun

Cheers Norma

DreamsInBinary · 01/05/2010 08:35

Happy birthday VT's Nan!

at your HealthyEatingFairyGodmther, ABF

Lizzylou · 01/05/2010 08:38

Morning all
From what I can see I missed a party, typical I go to bed with Gene Hunt (and DH) and you crack the booze open!

Off to work, see you all later

TotalChaos · 01/05/2010 08:54

Happy birthday to VT's Nan!

Iggi - on the subject of lost marketing opportunities, I always feel there should be a "Short and Fat" range - there are petite rangers, there are big and tall ranges - but not enough catering to the porky 5ft 3 lass.

Jac - welcome back! In terms of emotional eating - would keeping some sort of log of food eaten/mood help - just thinking that what I have found helpful is identify that "moment" , that small chunk of time where I am about to lay into the food big style, that moment where there is a choice left - and then finding something else to do instead to deal with the feelings that have led to the "moment"

TotalChaos · 01/05/2010 08:57

eg Jac - I found my trigger time was getting DS back from the school run - I find the pickup and bus journey home stressful - school playground is unfriendly, and then I feel self-conscious about people judging my parenting etc on way home - so my solution - allow myself up to 200 calories of healthyish snack - e.g. cup a soup and a biscuit or crackers. I was lucky in a way - I had a health scare just before Xmas - so that has really motivated me.

Morning all.

Going to get in the shower after a cuppa.

My Parents are going to take DS off my hands for a day.

I was woken up this morning by the smoke alarm, as he had gotten a desk fan out of his sister's wardrobe and was liberally shaking baby powder in front of it to make 'smoke'.

I don't know what to do with that boy, I am at a loss.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 09:33

Oh, forgot to ask, vinny, what did you get your nan for her birthday in the end?

Morning saf,

They did offer to take both DC's, I'm wondering now whether to take them up on that so I can blitz the house. (God Knows it needs it)

DH is at work and I am working this evening, so it won't feel like a 'proper' day off anyway.

Bless him, I've just gone up there to check on him and he is cleaning the bathroom !

Morning Double

I tried cutting out bread, but I also live on the stuff, and I have already cut out my beloved diet coke and alcohol (except fridays)and think at the moment it is a step too far.

Will do more shredding instead, I think.

Saf, DS is 4, will be 5 in June. Iam half impressed by his ingenuity, but then I still have a half inch covering of talc on everything upstairs atm, so am finding it hard to be that forgiving.

It's like the moon landings up there at the moment, except this actually happened

I am that you have already made a start on your kitchen.

I usually give the tesco man the excuse I don't want to let the dog out and have the shopping dropped in the porch so I don't have to tidy especially .

I am off to shower, have a good day

Lizzylou · 01/05/2010 10:30

Bitter, I know it must be extremely hard work for you, but your DS sounds like a very bright spark, very inquisitive and curious. I do appreciate I wouldn't feel the same if one of mine did the talc trick (they mainly just squabble and pick their noses).

Happy Birthday Vinny's Nan So pleased she is well and you can all enjoy her birthday together, how lovely

JAC!!! It is lovely to have you back, am sure you can turn things around, you are so strong and capable. Hope that everything is better for you very soon.

SAF, you sound like you like the same treats as me, if money allowed I would live on sushi, smoked salmon and lobster, as it is I'll have another rice cake

Double, I am trying to cut out bread, I have got very fond of rice cakes, as long as the topping is flavoursome.

Total, it's about 4pm here, the "keep out of the kitchen or else you'll eat the entire contents of the fridge" time.

So, Bank Holiday weekend, at work, not v busy but we are now taking my poor diseased boy to PILs, SIL can't make it so there is no risk of him infecting anyone. 1 day of the antivirals and the rash has shrunk loads, hopefully it will have cleared up for school on Tuesday.
