Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

Night wasting.

Jaquelinehyde · 01/05/2010 00:08

Hello bitter, hello double

For you two and others who don't know I'm Jac or Jaq depending on whats easiest for you to type. I am very, very, very over weight. Tend to do really excellently when I start a diet, but then I allow life to become an excuse for me not to continue.

Can you tell I am trying to reflect and learn from my past failings. Reflect and learn, reflect and learn.

I have 3 dc's (4, 4, and 2) and a wonderful dp at home, and I'm studying full time for my degree.

There shall be a test on all this is a few weeks time. Don't say I didn't warn you!

As you were

YanknCock · 01/05/2010 00:08

Bitter I'm sure my 'Fat Around the Middle' book says something to that effect. I would get it and look it up....but it is upstairs and I am downstairs and really quite pished at this point. It is only by virtue of my fab touch typing skills that i am making any sense at all.

I should be pleased to find something to blame for the enormous middle I'm currently propping laptop on, but the thought of giving up my pepsi max is so horrible
Am off to bed to snivel think seriously about drinking, ugh, water instead.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 00:13

Well, I've got half a drink left in me if you want to join me.

G'wan then....

I also do coffee, water and booze, but I used to have quite a bit of diet pop too. Am trying to cut it down and edge more to water.

Night iggi.

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 01/05/2010 00:14

Is there really a book called "fat around the middle"?
Is there also one called "fat around the arse", "Fat around the arms", "fat around the feet" etc?

See I heart diet coke, I really do.

I gave up both that and alcohol (fridays excepted ) nearly 2 weeks ago.

I find as long as I have little bottles of water that I don't drink in the day, I'm alright as I still have a drink to 'switch' to in the evening if that makes sense.

YanknCock · 01/05/2010 00:17

Night Iggi.... I find not keeping it in the house helps.....i would drink more if there was a big bottle or cans around. When it isn't here I'll have water or squash. A suggestion I heard recently was having squash with carbonated water....but sugar free squash also has the sweetener problem, so should probably stop that too! Plain water is sooooo boring.

My pop preferences in order:
Diet Pepsi
Pepsi Max
Coke Zero
Diet Coke with Lime

Double, where are you then?

YanknCock · 01/05/2010 00:21

Iggi, yes!! Fat Around The Middle is quite good, she wants you to eat legumes or something.....i forget....and take vitamins or something....obviously it can't be working that well.

If you want to borrow it, send me your address, will pop it in the post. It's here

I need a book for 'Slightly confused in the head'

OP posts:
YanknCock · 01/05/2010 00:22

I need a book called just 'Fat Around'. I don't have a slim part on my whole body.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 00:23

See Yank, now I heart you.

DH always laughs if I ask him if he wants a tin of pop.

He maintains the correct phrase is a can of fizzy.

well if I'm really showing my roots, I'd talk about 'cans of soda'.

Pop is something people in Minnesota say, but I've got used to it. DH is a londoner, he says 'tin of pop' and I've just gone along with that. I make a lot of adjustments to my language to be understood here ya know.....my own fammily back in the usa can't understand me anymore!
