Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

£35 a month is a lot I think.....would you get rid of your landline?

DH and I are both on orange for £20 a month. We really don't need the landline now because we have Virgin, but their packages were very cheap if you took their phone and it can be good to have a landline. Except when the only person who phones on it is your FIL.

JAQ!!!!!

Getorf mentioned before that she lost a stone in 4 weeks by not drinking Diet coke, I believe that Bitter(?) may be having similar success.

Bella cut out bread for four weeks and managed to kick start her weight loss.

Everyone is doing 30 Day Shred DVD and feeling the benefit.

This is the Healthy News at 23.50.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/04/2010 23:51

Hey Jac. I think you left just after I joined.

I hope you don't think I usurped you, because none of these feckers even know who I am!

Disclaimer - There has been gin and wine and margharitas.

YanknCock · 30/04/2010 23:51

SaF, as long as you haven't been drinking directly from the bag, I think you're alright.

Yank - I pay £25 a month atm but don't pay for any calls.

I think I should be sensible, I have a crappy mobile, but I don't use it.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/04/2010 23:53

There are sex toys for men?

YanknCock · 30/04/2010 23:54

we are joining the gym this weekend. They are doing a promotion where you get free joining, free card and 1 month free, just for this weekend. Been planning it for ages, idea is to go Weds, Fri and Sun and take DS. One of their areas they don't mind ifyou take a pram and have your baby with you while you work out. If he hates it, one of us will watch him while they other does something and we'll swap.

Hopefully DS will tolerate it. He's gone to pilates with us a lot, but lately we've had to go to separate classes because he isn't happy to sleep or look at his toys quietly. Has to make a commentary on all these people fannying about with resistance bands.

I need to join a gym, but need to quit smoking first.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 30/04/2010 23:57

Do we think saf has imploded?

YanknCock · 30/04/2010 23:57

Bitter, i guess it depends if you think you'd really use an iphone. At the moment I have an ipod nano and a phone, and I'm what you'd call and 'early adopter' normally with tech stuff.....or at least I used to be when I was married to XH, the uber geek. I'd love to combine the two, but can't justify it when it would cost so much more and there's nothing really wrong with my setup now. Plus I'm not a fan of touchscreens.

OP posts:
YanknCock · 30/04/2010 23:58

SAF, tear yourself away from the men's sex toys! (or at least tell us what channel you're watching)

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 00:00

I know the sensible thing is to cancel my contract.

That would go towards paying for a gym for a start.

I think I have just got a magpie thing going on, it looks so shiny and new.

As I said, I don't really use the phone I have.

Ah, gyms. Doncha just love to walk past them.
DS was making me run up and down a hill in park today with him, repeatedly, and I just couldn't keep going. Out run by a two year old. I so need some exercise.

HTF can cutting out diet coke help you lose weight?(I'm asking as someone who drinks multiple cans a day)

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 00:02

a what in a what now?

Please remember that I am the token thread prude.

YanknCock · 01/05/2010 00:02

c'mon channel please? Vagina in a can? I must see this.....

Iggi, I reckon re: the diet coke that there is some research to suggest that drinking artificially sweetened stuff is just as bad for you as actual sugar with calories--something about it mimicking the effect of sugar and your body reacting to it like it's sugar? I'm trying to cut down my diet pop intake, but as a committed diet pepsi freak it is tough. There is none in the house, but I've had some nearly every day this week. Should really lower my caffeine intake.

OP posts:
BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 01/05/2010 00:05

Iggi, I used to drink 2-3 cans a day.

Aparrently the Aspartame (sp?) can make you irritable and cause you to hold on to weight around your middle.

I quit about 10 days ago, switched to water and have lost 4lb.

Talk to GetOrf, she's the expert.
