This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

Redbin, I have my own and then I have a joint one with DH which his salary goes into. Actually the savings account is in my name too - but the money comes from the joint account into that one.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/04/2010 23:00

Hello ladies

(sorry does that sound a bit naff?)

I have caught up with the thread, but won't do a massive round up as I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said.

Very jealous of all of you that understand make up - I don't have a clue.

Where are you all meeting up?

Don't worry, I'm not trying to wangle an invite.

I just wonder if you are mostly in one area of the country.

I am at work all day tomorrow. I don't want to be.

Redbindipperss · 25/04/2010 23:00

bella - you should be my financial advisor

bellavita · 25/04/2010 23:02
Grin
hellsbelles · 25/04/2010 23:06

oh all this make up talk - I'm imagining you all looking very gorgeous.

And why has everyone let Jujus get away with his admission of a past make up habit. You weren't a 'new romantic' were you ?

I'm a bit of a product junkie too...and another lover of vitalumiere.

Shiney - have you tried the 'by terry' cream blush (space NK)...I really think it's a good one.

I'll bring my spares as well (I don't need any swaps back - I have enough clutter things as it is!!)...can we remind each other nearer the time -I have the most horrifically bad memory.

Tracey - I listened to that Radio 4 programme as well and found it completely heartbreaking.

So fanny - words fail me. What the hell are you supposed to do? You can't possibly lend the money. But the situation is horrible.

wastingaway · 25/04/2010 23:11

Bella, we'll have to organise another meet later in the year.
I'm really looking forward to visiting my Dad and seeing everyone there though.

Yank, Oh yeah, the Lucky Charms for £10 wasn't it, from that US import company?

YanknCock · 25/04/2010 23:26

bella, I think a lot of mine is from the U.S. so not sure it has those symbols...will have to go inspect it.

wasting, they've got Lucky Charms in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre, I can't remember how much, but definitely less than £10!

wastingaway · 25/04/2010 23:28

Ooh! Not worth the train fare though.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/04/2010 23:32

So tell me about the meet up!

(Honestly, I'm not going to turn up, I'm just really nosey)

Where are you going, what are you doing?

Or do you not talk about it on the thread?

Yank and Bella, lucky charms are foul

And have you actually ever banned someone from the thread?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/04/2010 23:44

Anyone know if it's ok to lose weight while pg? My plans for weight loss have been scuppered somewhat by bfp.
Surely it's ok if it's done by healthy eating/gentle exercise and not some kind of crash diet right? (probably totally wrong)

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/04/2010 23:55

Oooh, gossip!

Shiney, I am naturally sarcastic and fear that may come across in my typing.

I honestly don't think that you chat behind backs, I just thought that you may not want to make it public, I'm not sure I would want to post on a public forum where I am going to be on a particular day, if that makes sense.

No fretting - I promise, just noseyness.

So, spill, who did you ban

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 26/04/2010 00:01

Sorry queen, x posts.

As someone who is still trying to lose their baby weight 15 months on, the only constructive advice I can offer is:

Don't mainline cadbury's Giant Buttons

Breastfeed as long as possible, and

Don't have a girl

I'm sorry, I'm sure someone (e.g. Alice) will be able to give you more sensible advice.

QueenofDreams · 26/04/2010 00:16

bitter yeah it's been 19 months since DS arrived and still haven't lost the weight. Now just got bfp for dc2 on friday and I'm 4 stone overweight to start with!

VinegarTits · 26/04/2010 06:57

i had a crap night sleep, kept hearing George Lambs voice on my head, thats what i get for watching Make my body Younger all day yesterday

Queen its not recommended to diet while pg, as there is a risk your baby may not grow properly, but it is more of a risk to you as baby will take the extra nutrients from you and you wont get any iyswim? but if you stick to a healthy diet, that is low in fat and sugar, and dont 'eat for two', you shouldnt put any extra weight on

you can also help yourself by doing gentle exercise, like swimming or walking

MitsubishiWarrioress · 26/04/2010 07:08

Hello all .

Had a bit of a weekend. Bit of a long story and way too early.

I loved the make up talk. I love make up but have never had anything more spesh than No7 or Maybelline.

Fanny....No you are not being horrible. Some people never learn. Even if you wanted to spend it on a chocolate sculpture of the Eiffel tower, I would still say don't give it him.

Right tea and get dressed, don't go anywhere .... xx

Morning all. Monday weigh in says about same as whenever it was I got back (still disoriented in my own house!). 16 12.2. bah.

Queen, I started my pregnancy at 17st 3 and also wanted to hold off the weight. Hyperemesis helps, but I don't recommend it. There is some research to suggest if you are very obese it is ok not to gain any weight during pregnancy (but you must eat healthily!).

My experience was, if you keep the gain minimal, it comes off fast. I gained 29 pounds and lost it all in two weeks! I think lots of it was water weight, I was very swollen at the end. However....don't go overboard with the 'I'm breastfeeding so I can eat like a horse'. I managed to put 1/2 a stone back on like that. Grrrrr. At least it is slowly disappearing now.
