This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

Shiney, I get irritated by the least little thing when I am hungry - obviously little Teddy doesn't know that you have been doing fruit diets and 800 cal diets and I suspect this is making you even more irritable. Can you ask Taya to take him out for a walk?

TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 15:45

I'm making a sponge cake with crushed smarties inside. Not as posh as Bella's lovely creations but I thought I would share

Can we have a 'learning to bake with bella' weekend?

After my disaster I really wouldn't want to give anyone any advice on baking!!

Mmmm sponge cake all light and airy - yummy.

TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 15:50

Light and airy? Err... I'll let you know on that one.

Cooking is easy Shiney, you just chop stuff and heat it up and stir it and stuff.

OP posts:
bellavita · 25/04/2010 15:53

I suspect that it contributes to all irritatedness

and what happened to you coming to help me with this cake eh?? JM could have had two ladies on his arm last night!

I had to laugh, when he got our first drinks he commented that it had already cost £31.50 and we had only been out 20 mins! £20 for the sitter and £11.50 for the two drinks. He should know by now that I don't come cheap..

TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 15:55

Were they nice drinks, or just an expenive place?

OP posts:
bellavita · 25/04/2010 15:55

Bit of both I think Trills. I had a glass of champagne and DH had a beer.

How/why would you make JM cry you meanie?

OP posts:
bellavita · 25/04/2010 15:59

He is made of 'ard stuff - he doesn't cry!

Although he is very much a gentleman. He was waiting in turn at the bar and three girls behind him were discussing what they wanted to drink and they decided on glasses of wine. He let them go before him because they were all having the same drink and it wouldn't take two mins for them to be served...

It's got sunny outside and I want to go and sit in it, but my cakes are in the oven and it's too far...

I can only sit on a random bit of green outside the flats anyway. I want a garden. Preferably one that comes with a gardener.

bellavita · 25/04/2010 16:00

Shiney would probably be more expensive than me! Still wouldn't make him cry! He might raise an eyebrow or two but that's just about it.

TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 16:02

I get the feeling that Shiney is rather expensive...

OP posts:
bellavita · 25/04/2010 16:05

Me too Trills, me to .

Are you putting smarties in the cake mix or just in the cream when you sandwich them together?

bellavita · 25/04/2010 16:05

too

In the cake mix. No sandwiching, it's a square tin, but will put some chocoatey icing on top.

Am also doing a few in little cases so we can eat some tonight and I can take the square one into work tomorrow.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 16:08

Not necessarily expensive for others Shine, just that a lot of money needs to be spent on you and your lipgloss

Lucky work colleagues!

We have had a mixture of rain, a tiny bit of sun and hailstones here today.
