Morning all,

I succumbed & ate far to much chocolate yesterday, I have no will power when it comes to chocolate I did however go for a swim & swam almost non stop for half an hour so hopefully that will help a bit.

Sat trying to think where I could take the DC for a few hours that's cheap/free we are lacking in fun places around here sadly. Perhaps I'll just drag them out for a walk....

So anyone else fed up with chocolate being in the house?

Ouch! I think I scratched my eye using some crappy facescrub I got a free sample of, and then it got infected when I rubbed it.
DH says his eyes are starting to fell itchy. I'm praying he's imagining it cos I don't think you can wear contacts with an infection and he'd rather not wear his specs at work.

Norma, I don't even like plain milk chocolate that much and I ate my egg. DS likes chocolate much more than he did last year so hopefully he'll dispose of it all.

TotalChaos · 05/04/2010 09:02

wasting - I like Ministry of Food too, it's about my level, I think it's what the Delia cheat book should have been iyswim - simple but decent cooking for the terrified.

norma - I am also fed up of chocolate - I keep on nicking small bits of DS's eggs - but of course these will add up to a big bit......

what area of country are you in, Norma?

NormaSknockers · 05/04/2010 09:04

In East Anglia, I'm in a teeny village so not a great deal here to do sadly.

Shiney same as DS, he is constantly whining & pointing at his eggs - it's driving me bonkers

Alicetheinvisible · 05/04/2010 09:05

Norma - we were thinking of taking DD to the park which has just been re-done today, but it is looking grey and horrible, so may just do the horses and housework - FUN

TotalChaos · 05/04/2010 09:05

ah - not an area of the country I am very familiar with, given I'm in the north west. is the weather OK down there?

NormaSknockers · 05/04/2010 09:06

wasting - glad I'm not the only one who eats chocolate she doesn't like all that much. I ate some of DHs Lindor chocs, I don't even like them!

NormaSknockers · 05/04/2010 09:08

Not really, very grey, damp, cold & windy! May just take them for a walk to the park & back....

NormaSknockers · 05/04/2010 09:10

Alice, nothing like a bit of housework to motivate you

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 09:28

wasting - glad your eye is getting better...and yes you are right - Ministry of food is a great book for learning - bizzarely I'm relatively good at complex stuff but crap at basics.

We are having a relatively moan free day as I had some words with PFB yesterday and told him 'things are going to change around here' while sporting a Clint Eastwood type glint in my eye. And it has sort of worked. The last day has been a revelation. And now of course he is going to his grandma's today and it'll all be reversed in a sea of spoiling! I shall have to practise my strict face for when he gets back.

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 10:04

have i killed the thread with the most boring post ever?

Yank forgot to ask...are you all better (I know mini was on the mend)? Is the flight looking like it might be possible?

Alicetheinvisible · 05/04/2010 10:10

Helles don't be silly. If i haven't managed to kill the thread yet with my inane mutterings then you have got no chance!

Watch a lot of Supernanny, and copy that facial impression. My Grandma does it and i am turning into her quite a bit (is a good thing BTW!) it is like this but you may want to leave off the bunny ears for more effect.....

MyCatIsABastard · 05/04/2010 10:13

Morning ladies.

I had a fun night. DD up yelling at 1:30 complaining her eczema on her legs hurt, then threw up then woudln't settle so came into bed with us. This was after her coughing so much she didn't go to sleep til 9. Then DS woke up starving at 4am. I feel bloody knackered.

Anyway, diet going OK (I should bloody well hope so really, only started this morning). Only had a bagel with tomato, so 3pts. I get 23 pts but I'm going to give myself a kick start and just do 19pts this week.

If noone minds I'm going to put my just giving link on facebook with an explanation of why I'm doing it. Please have a read and sponsor me (or not, no pressure, honestly).

wasting, I'm glad your eye feels better. Horrible when your eyes are bad (especially when you realise you can't put your make up on - or is that just me!)

Norma and Shiney - I am also sat here wondering what the hell to do with the kids today. DS is currently asleep and DD is watching TV, but that wont last all day, sadly! I think my main acheivement will be to not consider murder by the end of the day.

hells - I'm glad the clint eastwood attitude helped? DId you say 'make my day, punk' too?

Alicetheinvisible · 05/04/2010 10:13

Oops, didn't mean i was supermum in style of supernanny, just that i have found that look works better than anything else i do parenting wise (the begging, pleading, bribery etc, - although the bribery works quite well)

Oh and Fanny, was thinking we really need to live nearer to each other. Your DC and you like ponies, i like JL = match made in heaven!

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 10:14

thanks Alice! and yes - the bunny ears do lessen it somewhat! But you are right - the right 'face' makes a massive difference.

Now you've come back and I've got to go (and start packing!). See you later.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 10:27

Happy Birthday Lizzy

Glad your eye is a little better wasting And hope all is well is the Yank household!

Hells - i will have to practice the Clint Eastwood look on Junior - when i am telling her for the hundredth time that day to sort her room out

No plans here today, apart from a little shopping and then tidy up the mess i made yesterday in the kids' rooms, while considering swapping them over. I ripped all the coving off from junior'r room, as it was well dodgy, and it took half the wallpaper with it. Guess i will have to re-paper at the weekend. I only started taking little pieces off so i could avoid writing my bloomin essay

MitsubishiWarrioress · 05/04/2010 10:39

Morning oh gorgeous ones...

How is DD this morning mycat?

I saw a man sized chicken on the back of a motorbike yesterday.

Where's Sazzles? Did I miss her announcing a holiday or break?

I love quiche. I would be very impressed by a man that not only liked quiche but could make one. And made Apple Pie with the spare pastry. I bloody love a well made Apple Pie.

I am rampaging hormonally, it's nearly not funny.

Have been hopping enthusiastically...

bellavita · 05/04/2010 10:40

Where is that Lizzy? Just want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.. have a lovely lovely day! x

Morning. I must remember not to drinks as many pints as boys.

MyCatIsABastard · 05/04/2010 10:46

Mitts, I was wondering where Sazz was. She was due to have guests this weekend but I think they couldn't come. I'm due to see her on Weds so I'll text her, ask her if she's in hiding.

And DD is much better thanks (she's pretentending Toddler Taming book is Little Red Riding hood and is reading it to me and her dolls). Still coughing though and strangely had what looks like a black eye

bellavita · 05/04/2010 10:47

Morning you lovely lot.

Had porridge for breakfast and will have a bagel and light philly for lunch. Have run out of the smoked salmon. Chilli & rice for tea with a huge salad.

DH has got the job of taking the boys for shoes today. DS1 wore his etnies yesterday and when he came in he complained that his feet hurt and they were all scrunched up, so he needs trainer type shoes for outdoors and he might as well see if his school shoes need changing. Better get DS2 done at the same time. >

I have missed Sazz too, where is she?

Yank, how is baby Yank today? Have you made a decision on flighs?

I think cooking for a large party is probably easier than doing a small one. I cook enough to feed the 5000 anyway..

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 10:57

Mycat - how exhuasting. I hope you and DD get a better night tonight!

at Mitt's man sized chicken. I had to re-read that twice! And commiserations on the hormone ramapage. Is it AF?

Bella - well delegated to DH! Is porridge low in points? I always think I should have it as I assume it keeps you full all morning? Which type do you use?
