Your story is a part of the you we love Jet... as long as you are comfortable talking about it, that is what friends are for... You are quite astounding really, Even more looking forward to meeting you now...

If I had to get dressed up it would be as a corseted, busty ladies maid with layers of petticoats and stockings, flirting coyly with some randy man servant... TMI?

iggi999 · 03/04/2010 20:38

Loving the fascinator idea
Am watching 17 again with DP. Last attempt to have a normal evening together before the relatives start arriving.
Will check up on all your doings later..

TotalChaos · 03/04/2010 20:38

evening ladies. so in less than a day we have found purses, walking children, and returning regulars, so it's all good. oh and I see jaq has got transported sorted for the funeral, also v good.

I also never knew my father jet - I'm an only brought up by my mum and grandparents, so not as much to deal with as you have had (understatement), but would also dearly love a photo of my father, so can see why the photo would be a big thing to have. my very first MN thread in fact back 6 years was about whether I should try and contact my father's family - but in that whole time I have still not dared make a move (the salvation army doesn't deal with unmarried parents, unfortunately).

jetcat · 03/04/2010 20:39

jetcat · 03/04/2010 20:40

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 20:44

Oh Total, so how can you find him (even if to just get a photo?). I find photos of relations fascinating, have some old ones of my Grandparents as children. DS2 looks like my Irish Granddad did as a child. It is lovely to see how you got to look as you look iyswim.

Jet, do what you want to do, you have to feel comfortable and ready and want to do something massive like meet your Birth Father. It is a massive step.

Bella got any choc fudge cake? Am not having any heaving bosomed serving wench action. DH is lusting over fecking Hornby trainsets fgs

IGGI! How exciting for you, hope all goes well, you will have an absolute ball and will look delectable, enjoy

DidEinsteinsMum · 03/04/2010 20:45

Hey total - had a good day?

bellavita · 03/04/2010 20:46

Has he managed to get the trainset working?

oh this is going to sound like I am fishing for sympathy, but I am not, honest, as an adult it's a case of not missing what I didn't have, so I just want information about my roots, and health history. but anyway - he died in an accident when I was ten (my mum found out in the local paper, didn't tell me about it for several years), but I know his name, and roughly where his parents used to live, so if I wanted to I doubt it would be hard to find out there address. but have never dared.

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 20:51

Bella, Trainset not working, we have had screwdrivers out and everything.
He has just made me buy new "bits" off Ebay, £34 worth
This is going to be a very expensive new boys hobby

It is like a virtual garden fence, isn't it?

Is Shiney all shagged out?

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 20:53

Oh Total, that is sad. Have you got photos of him?
I'm sorry.

Don't be daft about talking about stuff (as long as you are happy and comfy to do so), I sometimes think that the last thing we talk about is healthy eating and exercise!

DidEinsteinsMum · 03/04/2010 20:55

This healthy eating thing... what is it?

jetcat · 03/04/2010 20:55

total - you sound exactly like me. I am not interested in having any kind of relationship with them all, i am interested in looking at family history, health issues etc. How my sister actually found him was through ancestory.com. She did her family tree, and one of dad's brothers contacted her as they had similar info in both their trees.

Thanks instructions - i think the only aspect of it i am finding hard is trying to get my sis to understand that i dont want to join in the big reunion

defluff - that is much more shiney's style

SlinkyGoober · 03/04/2010 20:55

Total.

Am drinking homemade strawberry, banana and kiwi smoothie with vodka.

TotalChaos · 03/04/2010 20:56

thanks lizzy and jet. unfortunately I don't have a photo.

dem - park and shopping, so pleasant enough really, the park wasn't too rammed considering bank holiday weekend

btw re:cinema - if your DS has issues re:noise sensitivity avoid Liverpool One Odeon, DS finds it too loud. am seriously considering look for ear defenders for him if we go there again! he has been OK in FACT and Edge Lane.

jetcat · 03/04/2010 20:58

health eating DEM, is what we are all about says jet stuffing her face on easter eggs

jetcat · 03/04/2010 21:00

healthY eating (am too excited at having chocolate to spell properly)

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 21:00

Sorry Total, that was insensitive of me, I just asked as you'd said that was what you'd asked about on MN.
Sorry.

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 21:01

Goobs, that sounds a very sexy smoothie!

Just by having vodka in it.

DidEinsteinsMum · 03/04/2010 21:01

interesting. he was asking to go stay the night in liverpool today. no idea why though. And his littleness has just crawled onto my lap. he has very cold feet and i think sleep meds have kicked in so am going to go do stories. will be back

BitOfFun · 03/04/2010 21:02

Defluff- I have left that thread too, after a weak attempt to appeal to her better nature. She is a lost cause
