Welcome all- old and new- this is our fifty-something Healthy Eating thread, where we chat, support each other's ascent into vibrant slinkiness full of bright eyes and glorious glowing skin etc etc...

Post as much as you can, and you'll be sure to catch the gossip and the gamut of human emotion that make up the Shiney threads. They have grown from one woman's noble quest to ditch curly-wurlies for breakfast into a veritable Mumsnet phenomenon, which has actually seen some of us lose rather a lot of weight and get much healthier...

Not me- I am still trying to get there, and have a permanent cold, but hey, let's not split hairs: there are other regulars who are a positive inspiration! So jump in and find us again, or join us anew, and follow whatever approach suits you.

Well said Shiney

What has happened so far with her Dad? Have you had the chat with her?

TrillianAstra · 23/03/2010 16:54

Oooh, that girl is trouble Shiney! (the neighbour, not your DD)

It's a shame that spending more time wiht her Dad is a bad thing.

Shiney, is the girl who lives opposite the one who convinced your DD to climb in the house when you were out too?

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 17:05

Loving the card making as a sorry!

Thought so, she sounds like nothing but trouble!

wastingaway · 23/03/2010 17:23

She sounds like trouble.

Is DDs Dad's step-daughter moving out when she has the baby?

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 17:36

Hhmmm food today:

Bran flakes & whole milk (ran out of SS)
Roll with low fat cheese
WW Crisps
Low fat choc mousse

9 points left, not sure what I fancy for dinner....

TrillianAstra · 23/03/2010 17:38

Is your ex's stepdaughter moving out then? I remember you were unsure about what was happening once she had the baby (and not v happy baout Taya going there)

Lizzylou · 23/03/2010 17:39

I bet you could have predicted it was Trouble girl though, eh Shiney? She seems to be suitably contrite, can I borrow you???
I think you may even be able to tame my DS2

Roasted veg in a tomatoey sauce with grilled polenta for dinner, just had it, was lovely, gym later when DH gets home.

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 17:42

Mmmmm got any left over Lizzy

dawntigga · 23/03/2010 17:48

Goddess you people can talk.

Alicetheinvisible · 23/03/2010 17:50

Shiney - you sound very much the grown up! I am in awe of you staying so calm. I try to be calm all the time but DD got shouted at today.

BOF - i am not sure exactly what's going on, but if there was a story in the paper about someone dodgy that i had known i don't think i could help but read it.

I am just enjoying a much needed cup of tea and handful of biscuits (again, much needed!)I haven't stuffed my face as much today.

Breakfast: apple, fruit corner yoghurt, apple juice
Mid-morning: Cream bun and a cup of tea
Lunch: 2 crusty rolls with lettuce and very thin, posh ham, handful of crisps, apple juice
Afternoon: cup of tea and 3 biscuits (1 jammy dodger, 1 cow biscuit and one chocolate fudge cream)
Dinner: jacket potato and leftover sausage casserole

And probably a glass of milk or bowl of shreddies later. Ok, so it does look like a lot when written down I have walked round town this morning, and mucked out 2 horses and a field this afternoon though

wastingaway · 23/03/2010 17:51

This is the fastest thread on MN I think Tigga.

Lizzy, that sounds very yum. We're having toad in the hole, potatoes and butterbeans, with onion gravy and some chutney. Not really diet food, but I cooked it myself.

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 17:54

I have some WW sausages so thinking maybe some of them with some WW bread toasted, or just some toast, or I also have some bacon....or a jacket spud???

TrillianAstra · 23/03/2010 17:56

Is it easier or harder to not shout when they talk in complex sentences?

(that was a pondering face)

Alicetheinvisible · 23/03/2010 18:02

I felt guilty for shouting at DD because she was just doing toddler things and was tired but i was trying to get horses in from the field and i needed her to stay where i had asked, but instead she tried to climb through the gate and got stuck () so ended up with a lose horse and a grumpy mummy, but DD completely oblivious. Damn kids!

Alicetheinvisible · 23/03/2010 18:03

Dammit! LOOSE i used to be able to spell

NormaSknockers · 23/03/2010 18:04

Isn't that always the way Alice, the DC are always totaly oblivious to our rising stress levels

Lizzylou · 23/03/2010 18:07

The rest is for DH when he gets in, sorry Norma!
Wasting, that sounds lovely and I think DH would swap your dinner with the one he's got any day of the week. He loves Yorkshire puddings and onion gravy.

Alice, mucking out horses must be very tiring and you are eating for two, so think you'll be OK

I find I get more annoyed now the boys are older, especially when I know they know they're doing something wrong. So not just michevious/curious toddler, more "naughty" boys iyswim.
