Some of it is healthy eating chat. WW, LL, food focus, south beach. Whatever ever the route, whatever the goal its all here.

Most of the time its just moral support and general chat... So dive in, post as much as you are able and have some fun...

Shiney - I can't believe it! Was just reading a AIBU thread re ahem, noises , and was thinking I'm the only person in the world that doesn't do this and can't even say it, when I saw your post. Phew. I am not alone. Don't do going to the loo either.

Well I do obviously, but not in front of dp.

(actually dp and I had a row about this very topic last night as he does do it and I hate it and how can I sleep with him if hes so repulsive???????)

[ponders changing dose of tablets again as runs out slightly manic]

travellingwilbury · 18/02/2010 10:48

A pound is not only a pound. It's bloody brilliant. Now I'm not saying this to appease you travelling, but a pound is spot on. More than 1-2lbs a week and actually it's not fat you're losing but lean tissue mass and water. It might make you feel better to see a big loss on the scales but it doesn't mean that you've actually lost that in fat. How many times do people diet and then put it all back on again when they stop? It's because, good, sustainable weight loss is about gradual, small amounts that stay off. So 1lb is actually excellent and you should feel damn pleased. Never say only a pound, it's defeatist and you're doing better than that.

Vin, I'm sorry. It's crap when it's family isn't it? Because it's not as simple as with anybody else where you can easily cut them out or write them off. And there's an expectation that family should know better. It's rubbish for you, but you content yourself with the knowledge that he's coming back as a toad. No, not a toad, a wart on the back of a toad. No, not a wart, the pus that oozes out of the wart on the back of a flatulent toad. DH is working with a tactical support unit atm. Basically going round people's house, knocking really, really quietly so that the people inside don't hear and then they have the excuse to get out their big red key and bang the door down. Of course dh denies this and says they only resort to banging doors down when absolutely necessary. I know the truth, I've met them. Man, door, wood, bang bang. It's tapping into their primal instincts. They try to resist. They fail.

Vinny, in future, offer nice policemen a cup of tea and a saucy wink. They're so used to being spat at/sworn at/abused that it's lovely when somebody's nice. And have a chat with one about thieving FILs while you're there. I'm very cross on your behalf. Your FIL sounds like what my FIL terms an oxygen thief.

21mins for 4k is excellent. I've fallen into a pattern of longer runs as I don't like running fast and I need to go out for some quick, hard runs. Did 10k last night and 10k again this morning which I'm happy with.

My parents are on their way and I'm still lounging around in my running gear eating weetabix and banana. Poor show. Must shower.

Have a good day all....

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 10:57

The only way i have found to do that crunches without hurting my neck is to use one of thoes sit up frames. I do this until i have stomach muscles that a. know how to work and b. dont scream at me if i make them do a bit of work. i then progress to the situps from hell. which i once got ex to do because he thought it was a piss take. Needless to say after 3 reps he knew he had some muscles and didnt give the look again.

Survived the dentist - just need a filling replace and another smoothed. So not too bad. So will do that at easter. Off to check weather and ring ex to find out what is happening.

If anyone stands on my hair brush could you chuck it at me. I have three and can find non of them

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 18/02/2010 11:01

travelling, which davina are you doing?

If your neck hurts while crunching it's not in line with your back properly. Imagine a rod through your back and into your neck. Your chin should be nowhere near your chest. Imagine an orange under your chin preventing you putting your chin on your chest. You can put your hands behind your head to support your neck, but make sure you're not pulling your head forward as you lift, just supporting. The other thing is you might be trying to crunch too high and using muscles other than your abs and your back to stabilise. Concentrate on your abdominals, pretend you're pulling your belly button up under your ribs as you curl and keep your neck and upper back muscles relaxed. It's actually harder to do an effective crunch than you think. Think all the time, isolate your abs, relax your head and neck, keep in a line. I used to really struggle with this too and I was trying to force my shoulders up instead of allowing my abs to pull them up iyswim.

ramble ramble.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:02

Shiney doesn't like the word cunnilingus either DeFluff....

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:06

Oh and wiggle you toes. if you are wiggling your toes you cant use your butt muscles to help you do the crunch.

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:07

Mitts is it snowiing near you yet? got a weather forcast for that neck of the woods?

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:07

My Abs are so weak. At Kboxing I fall apart giggling trying to do anything that involves them. We were lying on our backs passing a sponge ball from our hands to our feet without putting out feet on the ground....yeah right.... I am pathetically very competitive at being as fit if not fitter than the nubile young strips of girls that go so I practice, although to no avail. I think my Abs are just made of jelly.

It is so much fun really though and I know I am built for endurance.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:09

DEM, it keeps flurrying. Would meeting in Manchester on Saturday be optional and going to the DaVinci exhibition? And or the Gallery? It would mean all the driving wasn't down to you also......

Defluffmyfanjo · 18/02/2010 11:10

Mitts - dp goes to the loo with the, wait for it, door open

I can't cope with him.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:10

Or sunday? I could talk to The kid's Dad as it has been a trying week with the DC's and I could do with a break.

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:13

Would definetly be an option. Ds loves the mosi especially xperiment. Still have to drive as have to get the boy at some point. Will ring ex- it is a bit safer to meet at Mansfield rather then ikea, and closer for ex. Will see what weather is like down there.

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:13

Oh no defluff.... now that is a step too far....

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:16

I think i am supposed to pick mum up from the airport sunday evening, so it is an option but will have to wait til friday to find out when she is supposed to land. seeing as no-one has left the flight info and i have no contact details for dad during the week. Might see him tonight - it depends what time he gets back.

OP posts:
DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:18

or cunning plan - bring them with them and they can keep an eye on ds in xperiment and we could wander round da vinci - although it does depend on how strict they are being with their child must be accompanied by adult rule i know it is due to for evacuation procedures and different parts of mosi go to diff places but sometimes it would be nice to leave ds happy in xperiment and go to loo on my own.

Brownie Recipe

10oz marg (softened)
13oz caster sugar
4 eggs
3oz cocoa powder
4oz self-raising flour
4oz chocolate chips

traybake tin or roasting tin (12x9x1 1/2)

Grease tin and line with non stick paper.

Bung everything (apart from chocolate chips) into a bowl and whizz on high speed with hand mixer until evenly mixed. Add chocolate chips (I have done it without them and the brownies still taste nice)

Wack in the oven at 180 or 160 fan for about 40 mins.

Georgimama · 18/02/2010 11:30

Hello Shining Ones

Jusy having a quick skim through and a post so Trills doesn't delete me from FB group.

I am georgimama (yes I know intros were 300 posts ago - tough) and I have lost 14 pounds on no s since 4th January when I found this lovely bunch, and I have to give her the credit, Dittany mentioned by random chance the no s diet. It works. If you are crap at eating healthily, big or small, read it and give it a fortnight. Incredibly simple, like all the best ideas.

I have about another 35 pounds to go to reach my goal of 11 stone 7 lbs (I think I do anyway). So I am quite fat still. I would like to get there by June/July but realistically, the end of the year would do.

I am attempting not to MN too much at the mo because the blatant electioneering/do gooding of the fortnight is frankly, getting a bit much for me. But then I am very mean, and probably best ignored.

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:33

Bella that is truely fab. I can adapt that for milk free! Ds will love doing that later/ this weekend.

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/02/2010 11:36

Oh. I don't know now DEM. Too many choices....
I definitely think I need a break from The DC's,(mine lol) (and they from me).

But it depends on what their Dad will agree to anyway.

DidEinsteinsMum · 18/02/2010 11:46

See what happens. ex is being a pain in the ass. Cant get hold of him. Might leave and have a trip to ikea heading down m1 from the twisted spire. Ds' lego has just arrived so he will be very very happy. Its in a huge box. I suspect we will be building tonight.
