MOrning all, off to walk up the hill to do school run. Snow looks like loads of slush now.
Didn't I start the year like this??
Luckily DH got the car up the hill, so we are not marrooned.
It's all exercise anyway

Then off to the Pool, will wave Yank. Though this may be cancelled as Client wants to put time back, which would leave me about 10mins there before I had to turn round and do the school run.

It must be far easier to be DH, just get in car, go to work, come home late/early as you please knowin I have it sorted.
But then he doesn't get to see the boys as much........

Hmmmm,

FlamingoBingo · 04/02/2010 07:30

Morning ladies.

DD1 is annoying me and nagging me to turn the computer off already! I've said I'll do it when she gets dressed! I'm a shit mum, clearly, and she just said to DH that I never play with her and she 'hates days'. So delighted I'm making my daughter depressed

Poo!

Mitts - telling me that you'll come down and hug me is hardly going to stop me saying I'm shit, is it??? I'm shit, I'm shit, I'm shit, I'm shit...

Off to the slatterns thread to tick a couple of things off!

Lizzylou · 04/02/2010 07:44

Flam, DS2 has got into the habit of physically grabbing my head away from the laptop and saying "Look at me!" when I am mning working

Have a good day, Flam, remember what your FIL said, that does make a lot of sense.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 04/02/2010 07:53

Flam... DC's do say that sort of stuff on a whim, usually when they are in the wrong and want to make you feel bad. (and yes, it does work ). Have you got a 'The Works' near you? They are selling those big chinese lanterns that are like hot air balloons for a pound. If not I could pick some up and post them . I will probably just set light to them before they get off the ground! (which will be just as entertaining I guess)

You need to have a note book and keep a note of the good things that you do because it seems to me you are a lovely mum who is trying really hard in difficult circumstances and it is too easy to be hard on yourself....

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/02/2010 08:07

MOrning all

TrillianAstra · 04/02/2010 08:17

Morning. Headache this morning. DId I miss much? Tried to read through but brain is not cooperating. DP will be in bed for another 3 hours I expect.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 04/02/2010 08:22

You OK Trills? Is it just a 'headache' or are you generally illing?

Lots of water and deep breathing. And if you are not averse to Lavender oil, it is very good for headaches and revitalising.

I appear to have the day off, so I will do paperwork this morning and paint this afternoon.

Hallooo five .

Did anyone find out if squeezy is OK?

Alicetheinvisible · 04/02/2010 08:32

Morning

Trills - hangover?

Mitts - someone spoke to her on FB and RL is very busy atm.

FB - you are not shit, kids are a pain in the bum you don't get a break from them so obviously you have to get time for yourself while at home with them.

Sorry for the winge last night, i know lots of people are a lot worse off than us. It is not the money as such, more that the industry is not suffering at all, it is just the partners failed to budget properly, and instead of taking up the slack with their (6 figure) salaries it is being passed down. They are still going ski-ing for half term, can afford to send all 4 children to expensive private schools and the poor assistants are becoming worse off each year due to cost of living rising. Doesn't help for the general well feeling in the workplace that is for sure. DH has been looking for other jobs but what makes him so valuable to his work is he is quite specialist so finding another job is damn difficult.

DreamsInBinary · 04/02/2010 08:37

Sounds like a hangover to me, Alice

Good night, Trill?

TrillianAstra · 04/02/2010 08:45

Nah, just a headache, not hangover and not ill. Into work now, lights are on but no-one's here, they must have gone off to Starbucks.

Lots of water - tell that to Alice too!

Alicetheinvisible · 04/02/2010 08:48

Poor you Trills i have a huge bag of painkillers here, what do you fancy?

hellsbelles · 04/02/2010 09:06

poor trills. Alice is he able to set up for himself or is that not possible? (have no idea what industry he's in)

I made an effort to wear decent jumper today and DD promptly spit up all over it.

Shiney - what a horrible night. Sounds like you may have to get a referral...casuality is great for emergancies but not much else. Is DD any better?

Flam - I was going to say what Mitts did (I find myself typing that a lot)....about DC's saying the things they know will hurt the most. Tis a special talent (along with also being so perfect when they sleep it's impossible to stay cross).

Bella - said she got a massage off squeezy on facebook. As I was skim reading I assumed it was some sort of farmville thing ....

Does anyone know which station in Manchester we go to? Just did a quick check and London to Manchester (picadilly??) is 2 hours. Does that sound right

Alicetheinvisible · 04/02/2010 09:13

Helles - it is complicated. He has spoken about possibility but would cost around 100k to get started, also depends on non compete clause(sp?) in his contract, which would be difficult. Frustrating.

I need to get DD dressed and clear up breakfast stuff but i am still sat here. Have reserved some library books online though.

Lizzylou · 04/02/2010 09:14

Hells, piccadilly would be great I think, and yes, 2 hours sounds about right. DH sometimes trains it to London and back in a day.

I don't know what all the fuss was about, the snow has almost gone now! Blooming over dramatic me

Boys have just had a lovely school photo done, they look so angelic, and Hells is right when they are asleep and all snuggly and warm you can forget that they've been calling you "Mommy Poo Head fat bum" all evening.

Flam, Mitts makes a good point about writing down all your "wins" and also I think it was Alice who mentioned writing down all that you get done, however small, makes you feel good to know you've achieved something, even if it is a load of washing and the breakfast stuff washed. YOu're great and you are a wonderful Mom, kids just know which buttons to press.

Trills, hope your headache gets better.

Waiting to hear if I am am heading over to the land of Scouse or not this morning, will wave to Yank, BOF and Vinny (who will be at work, so no idea if she is anywhere near!).

Alice, hope your DH can sort his job out, as Hells said, could he set up on his own (is he a Horse Vet?? Or did I dream it?)

Have good days y'all.

VinegarTits · 04/02/2010 09:33

Good morning

Shiney, my knee used to do the very same thing ALL the fecking time, it would pop out of place then straight back in again, it was agony but only ever caused some soft tissue damage

I got so fed up with it happening, that i refused to move out of my gps office until he sent me for physio, the physio said it was due to the tendon on my leg being to short, so it would occasionally pull my kneecap out of its socket

Anyway after a few weeks of physio (she stretched my tend through massage, it was painful) i was right as rain, and it has never happened again since

Just keep an eye on her, if it happens again get her to your gp

hellsbelles · 04/02/2010 09:34

Thanks Lizzy - 2 hours isn't too bad - for some reason I thought it was 4 hours before! And we love a bit of drama on here so no need to bother about the fuss!

Alice - blimey - fairly hefty start up costs those. How frustrating. I suggested going it alone as I too used to get very wound up making lots of money for someone else and then drawing a salary (along with needing to be more flexible with my hours). Having said that I now do have a slightly more understanding view from the other side so to speak but that is the last thing your DH needs to hear about so I won't bore you with it.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 04/02/2010 09:37

Alice...that must be tough with DH. Especially right now. Setting up on his own sounds exciting and scary and I guess would be an enormous leap but even on a small scale, I love being self employed and it has a lot going for it. Different scale obviously but maybe it would be a positive leap... and somewhere down the line if it is what you want, you will be able to seduce the --boss- make a position for yourself within the business.

NormaSknockers · 04/02/2010 09:41

Mooooooooooooooooooooooorning DH not in work til this afternoon so limits the amount of time I can sit on my arse MNing log onto the laptop Catch up properly later!

Morning

Snow nearly gone, but very foggy.

Hope everyone is ok.

Hells, I think my train will be going into Picadilly.

I hope your headache disappears soon Trills. Has DP heard back from any of the interviews?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/02/2010 09:53

MYCAT - if you read this good luck for the interview.

hellsbelles · 04/02/2010 09:56

yes - mycat! Good luck.

jetcatisfrozen · 04/02/2010 09:57

morning all. Hope your DD is ok shiney, and trills and anyone else illing - hope you are all ok as well

We dont have snow, just a very hard frost, which i hate as it is so slippy and i have to force mini to hold my hand (a very stroppy independent young lady) to stop her falling! Cue lengthy battles all the way round to school

bellavita · 04/02/2010 10:10

ooooh yes MyCat - GOOD LUCK
