Wow... you were close Lizzy. I am 8 miles from Bakewell..

I am warming up to doing something zany in the bathroom (ooerr!!). DS wants a potted palm now.

I have a place setting (for afternoon tea) glued to my wall in the living room... it is fun.

iggi999 · 31/01/2010 20:04

Hello,
asked DP if could have weekend off in June for meet up - first response was yes, then when said what it was for he freaked out saying "you're meeting people off the internet, don't you read the newspapers" etc!! Wonder which one of you is planning to come with the chainsaw...

DreamsInBinary · 31/01/2010 20:05

Argghhhhhh - have just returned from the first aerobics session in years. After a promising start, I stumbled around like a drunken elephant as all these long, lithe goddesses moved as one.

Am off for a long bath.

DreamsInBinary · 31/01/2010 20:06

Hooray

Iggi's coming

Really am off now. Also have ironing to do later. Grump.

Lizzylou · 31/01/2010 20:12

Iggi that is exactly what my DH said!!!
He thinks I am a right fruitcake now.....

I am so pleased you can make it, fab!

DIB, I was so unco-ordinated in my aerobics class last week, I was all over the shop.

Mitts, so are you closer to Manchester, or further south? It is just so beautiful round there, am , lucky you.
We've even been on the internet to see what a 2 bed cottage/flat would cost, for weekends. It cost more than £2.50 so we have scrubbed that idea
S'funny, before we moved to this house 5 years ago we were looking at Glossop and Buxton, we could have been neighbours, I could have had a go on your spacehopper!

GooberHasBookedHerHols · 31/01/2010 20:13

Hi all.
Have ye had a good day?
Who has eaten the most?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 31/01/2010 20:17

Lizzy, I am near the next small town (south) along...Matlock. It is truly glorious here and I fall in love with Derbyshire more and more as I get older.

I am thinking of going to Manchester next weekend to go to the galleries if there is something I want to see.

Lizzylou · 31/01/2010 20:34

I don't blame you, Mitts, it is lovely in your neck of the woods, oh for a lottery win! V well placed for Manchester, Derby and Sheffield as well. Lovely.

Goober, I had 3 chips and a quarter of a bakewell pudding?
How about you?

iggi999 · 31/01/2010 21:09

So, should I watch Vacancy (ch 5 just starting) or is it too scary?

wastingaway · 31/01/2010 21:12

I've probably eaten the most, but it's an S Day! I've done all right actually. Didn't fancy a pudding after dinner this week.

Lizzy, hope your bum is better soon.
I lurve bakewell tarts!

Mitts, you must be pretty close to me in S. Yorkshire then. More picturesque round you though! The bathroom looks fab!

Alice, excellent bargain hunting! Yay for 12 weeks and hope appointment goes well tomorrow.

Bella, the cake looks beautiful. Of course!

Yank, what a nightmare! It still sounds a bit glam to me. Anything that happens in NY has an air of mystique to a girl from Doncaster.

Hope all your mice meet their maker Sazz and Tracey.

wastingaway · 31/01/2010 21:15

Looks too scary for Me Iggi, I'm watching Die Hard 4.0. Again.

Lizzylou · 31/01/2010 21:18

Being Human here, on BBC3, Mitchell the Vampire is sex on legs.

I have just eaten two digestive biscuits - could have been worse, I have loads and loads of chocolate on my trolley (waiting to be sent to a friend).

Tis quiet on here tonight...

iggi999 · 31/01/2010 21:37

Bella I loved your cake. And I speak as someone sick of looking at potential wedding cakes on the internet!
You have a talent.
My talents lie more in the consumption side of things.

bellavita · 31/01/2010 21:41

Thanks iggi - am laughing about your consumption comment . I am very impatient though and I need to take more time with the decorating. It didn't help that I had DS2 breathing down my neck literally, all he was doing though was trying to watch and I got all shouty at him. Then DS1 walked in and some how banged into the table and knocked me.

iggi999 · 31/01/2010 21:52

Ah, just imagine they are the studio audience of your own cake baking show.
I am watching Vacancy, and really regretting it. But I have a feeling they survive so am keen to see that.

TrillianAstra · 31/01/2010 21:55

I have curry bubbling. Went to pub to say goodbye to friend who is off to New Zealand for 6 weeks, had tasty local beer.

Bella stay away from that chocolate, it is a present!

bellavita · 31/01/2010 21:58

A friend of mine went to New Zealand for a year - he actually stayed longer and then went on to Thailand and a few other places. I think he is going back.

What kind of curry Trills?

I won't touch the chocolate... honest!

FlamingoBingo · 31/01/2010 22:07

Yummy curry made by a lovely husband (mine!)

Yummy very chocolatey, very creamy chocolate tart made by a lovely friend

Lovely presents.

I am a happy 30 year old!

Now onto losing that last 1/2 stone or so!

FlamingoBingo · 31/01/2010 22:10

Alice - congratulations on reaching 12 weeks. Hope the sickness subsides soon now.

Mitts - fantastic bathroom!

wastingaway · 31/01/2010 22:14

Glad you're having a nice day Flamingo.

So, is this the curry eating thread now?

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 31/01/2010 22:19

Ok, now, i could go back and read this weekend's fun or I could go to bed ready with an early night ready for the new school tomo. If someone would summarise the important bits that would be fab, and i dont think there will be a chance this side of half term to catch up otherwise. And by then it really will be pointless
