Or alternatively, if you are feeling really crap or cold, a hot port is lovely, port, sugar, slice of lemon and boiling water.

hellsbelles · 29/01/2010 19:15

iggi - good to have you back and welcome hobgoblin.

I'm still in a bit of strop about my lack of recent weight loss. I must take Norma's advice and shock my body by having a huge piece of cake (well that's not exactly what she said but I shall interpret it thus)...to get it back on the weight loss track.

Yank - sounds positive on the interview/chat....and I would love to learn to knit - can you give me virtual lessons

Lizzylou · 29/01/2010 19:16

Bella, I'd get that seen to lovely, could well be an abscess.

Just had a very delicious veg and noodle stir fry, very cleansing and good for me.

Am exhausted today, early to bed I think tonight......

TrillianAstra · 29/01/2010 19:16

Mmm, all very tempting Fanny. Just had some prawn crackers. Will make noodle soup in a bit.

What are you doing with your child-free weekend Shiney?

Alicetheinvisible · 29/01/2010 19:21

I am being a bad mummy and having a small glass of red wine - its going down very well

Dinner was baked potatoes with beef stew (i made a load just before christmas and froze)

TrillianAstra · 29/01/2010 19:25

Red wine and beef is good for strength and blood. Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Lizzylou · 29/01/2010 19:28

Yep, very iron rich and full of antoxidants.
Now eat dark choc and you'll be doing the very best for your baby, Alice

Alicetheinvisible · 29/01/2010 19:30

I will have a chocolate mousse after DD has gone to bed if that counts

hellsbelles · 29/01/2010 19:38

yes chocolate is very very good. I'm sure I read a proper bit of research somewhere that proved beyond any doubt that children whose mothers had eaten chocolate when pregnant were much happier (actually really it's true....I promise)

Hot port sounds nice

We did a fell walk on new years day, it was farking freezing, and when we got to the top of the hill, we lit a fire and made hot blobs (aussie whites, sugar, hot water) yum yum

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 29/01/2010 19:52

vinny - sounds amazing....but what are 'aussie whites'?

TrillianAstra · 29/01/2010 19:52

Hot blobs? Hmm. I think the hot port sounds more appealing.

What shall I have to drink? DP is hungover (out attempting to make the most of being unemployed last night with his ex-housemates who are both postdocs) but I fancy something tasty. What would go with my spicy noodles? Or shall I wait til after and have a digestif?

TrillianAstra · 29/01/2010 19:55

I thought that Hells, then guessed Australian white wine. Is that right?

hot alcohol in the Hells household is a no no. When we were pre dc we thought it was very cool to have absinthe as the drink of the moment...and DH used to do the whole burning sugar into it and everything! Nearly burnt down the bloody house once. At which stage I put my foot down and became an absinthe refusnik

Shiney - which type of make up shall you be buying (I am a product junkie - I need specifics )

TrillianAstra · 29/01/2010 20:07

Sazzles - it's spicy chicken noodle soup.
Onion + garlic + carrot strips + chilli + ginger + bit of chicken fried, the covered with water containing chicken stock, tomato puree, and soy sauce, then egg noodles and red pepper.

I also want details on the makeup - preferably with links and comments. I am mostly a Boots no7 girl myself.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/01/2010 20:12

I too, wish to know. I treated myself to a makeover on the Bobbi Brown counter at JL in SOuthampton, Christmas before last.

Coco Mademoiselle is lovely - I often think that when I get a tester of it (and then forget to buy it )

You are making me very of your shopping.

My favourite favourite foundation is Chanel vitalumiere. I only use a bit (on red bits on cheeks and round nose) so it lasts for ages...but it just covers everything up that needs to be covered without looking like I've got foundation on.
