We chat, keep each other on track, and monitor our goals together- some on the thread have lost shed loads of weight, some are running ridiculous distances. Some, of course (like myself and Shiney, our dubious leader) have been a bit, er, remiss really. But that can all change with a New Year!

Not a name changer, this has been my name on MN for 2 years. I've just moved into your lovely thread and turned a blind eye to the fact that you were all friends and I have gate crashed. So far you're all doing that polite thing hosts do when someone you only vaguely know is last man standing at a party, and you start to wonder if you should just call them a taxi, but know that you just can't because it would be rude.

DC's in bed and just about to have glass of red wine and then off to bed for me.

I need to spend tomorrow getting ds1 ready for school and then start planning the year!

By that I mean sort out a holiday - I so need things to look forward to.

I'd love to go to NY next Christmas with dd1, DP and dss. Have no clue where to start though, and haven't saved up enough yet.

I'm not exactly new, was on around threads 3 and 4 I think, but then life caught up and I couldn't keep up with the thread . I joined again a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes people answer my posts, sometimes they don't. It's fine. I'm happy talking to myself (it's like being at home with DC and DH).

That is awful for Reality. Why would this woman want to do this? Obviously very insecure and doing all she can to bolster her confidence and try and believe the lies she knows her DH is telling her . Either that or just a stupid twunt!

DP has gone to pick up some things from a friend's house (and back via the pub as said friend lives too close to the pub to resist ). I decided it was too cold, thereby saving £3 and about 200 cals (in a pint of beer). Does this mean I can eat some cheese insteaad? We walked round the botanic gardens in the cold today, so that's some exercise.

Oooh, and I can do the plank for a whole minute. It's bloody hard!

No idea about NY, sorry BoF. By next Christmas I might know a little as I mgiht get to go visit head office. I can highly recommend booking yourself into an airport lounge if you're flying longhaul - it makes that time waiting around int he airport much much nicer.

Bof - I love NY but you definitely need to save as the shopping/food/drink is very good.

Friend went for a week in october with her dc's and DH and they stayed in an apartment which worked really well.

I'd start looking at flights and working out when is best to buy tickets.

We're long-term planning to do an America holiday when dc's are a little older.

I wouldn't like to calculate how much I spent on ovulation/pregnancy tests over the course of trying for 2 dc's.

One big benefit of surprise dc3 was only bought one test.

We have had some gorgeous homemade thick soup and dumplings for tea and I have just made bolognaise for tomorrows tea.

I go back to my school tomorrow for a training day and then we reopen on Tuesday. My boys are back Tuesday too. DH has taken the day off for tomorrow and is going to sort DS2's new school shoes out.

Shiney, I actually think you will be better on your own when you go back to work, you can do things your way and as there will be no one to ask then you will find a solution yourself perhaps a better way than your predeccesor would have done it.

I think you are also going to have to get tough with Birdey Hop Man.

Talking of Levis Shiney, I did try some on a few months ago and the sales assistant was insisting that I needed the smaller pair, but it felt like I had been given a "wedgie" as my boys would put it.
