...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Here too, Shiney, Will go up first or second weekend of December in this house.

BelfastBloke · 29/11/2009 23:16

Today is the first Sunday of Advent in the Christian calendar. Good enough for me. Pagan symbol + Christian marker: isn't that what Christmas is all about?

DW would've had it up after Hallowe'en if she'd had her way.

DidEinsteinsMum · 29/11/2009 23:17

Yes but 1st sunday in palm was today christmas count down in full swing now and good excuses for eating and baking and friends over for a chat. Tree is going up early here as we are away for christmas and there is a tidy rule wrt christmas. it must be kept tidy when the decorations are up. Not normally early up here either.

Off to do school run and then get some work done.

Have good days

TrillianAstra · 30/11/2009 09:13

Feel ick. Have called in sick. Think it was not the booze but the thinking that it was a good idea to reheat the remaining chinese noodles.

Going back to sleep I think.

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 09:15

Good morning

I decided last night (whilst eating rather a large piece of yummy crackling dripping oil and salt) that i need to start back on the healthy eating quite seriously oh, and the fact that i put on a pair of trousers i was wearing at 5months pg and they fit quite well

SS stuff has not gone entirely to plan so i am also a bit behind (or am i? ) hoping to send stuff by the end of the week, and will send your stuff at the same time Shiney

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 09:16

Morning..

Had a giggle at BB's thread... and BoF's 'UTGSN'

I feel really, really 'weird'. A little unwell (sore throat stuff, my stomach is tender and swollen) but my head feels like I have been drinking, which I haven't, and everything feels 'spacey' and distant.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/11/2009 09:41

Hope you feel better soon Trill. I hate feeling sick.

hellsbelles · 30/11/2009 09:58

morning all

phew - just caught up - i think a quick summary of the weekend chat; corsets, christmas trees, broody talk which seemed to cause Trills a headache followed by sickness - possibly the thought of a sprog called vinny jones.

And congratualtions to BB.

I was planning a nice lazy Sunday evening catching up and entertaining you all with sparky comment (well I can dream can't I)...but alas I was stuck in a traffic jam for 2 and half HOURS - what should have been an hour and a half journey took 4 hours - bloody blackwall tunnel. And I was so desperate for a wee I contemplated putting on one of DD's spare nappies and peeing in that. Do you think that would have worked logically it should but I couldn't bear it.

TrillianAstra · 30/11/2009 10:15

Good point hells, it's definitely the fault the broody chat

If you go via topcashback new customers get £5 cashback too.

For any item over £5 the code
AFFWELCOME5
gives you £5 off.

Then on your next order
SURVEY3
gives you £3 off any amount over £3

Other codes
£8 off £50 AFF8 valid till 31/12/09
£15 off £100 AFF15 valid till 31/12/09

(copied from the other thread)

TrillianAstra · 30/11/2009 11:10

I've been told off for sending people to topcashback using the link that says I've referred them, so once they reach a certain amount I get £1.

For the person using it it is exactly the same. I was suitably contrite, I am a good girl.

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 11:13

I read that as Prime Minister

Thanks will go and try the codes

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 11:22

whats the difference between region 1 and 2 dvd's?

TrillianAstra · 30/11/2009 11:23

Region 2 is UK/Europe, region 1 is US.

Region 1 = USA
Region 2 = Europe

Many people in Europe have multi-system DVD players, so you may be able to play Region 1 on yours. But check.

Many computers will accept both regions for several times and then stay fixed with one.
