...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Lizzy you put the cash back code in at the checkout on price minitser

you have to go through the cahsback site to get to price minitster to get the cash back though

Shiney, sounds like you have your hands full there

BitOfFun · 30/11/2009 11:44

I've had my dinner, chicken chassuer with sweet potato, it was low fat and delicious and filling....so can someone please explain to me WHY....

....i am now sat at my desk shovelling down a pack of cheese & onion and a twirl, its like i become possessed by the spirit of a fat girl

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/11/2009 12:43

at your day Shiney...I think my DS is stuck in a loop of toddlerdom.

'Who has pushed a whole frigging bar of soap down the frigging plug hole in the bathroom again?'

'Dunno Mum,'

'Not me, Mum'

Oh it must be me, I am always doing random things that make my life 10 TIMES HARDER THAN IT NEEDS TO BE.

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 12:48

My toddler doesnt seem to do normal toddler things like that

Yesterday i came down (after changing beds) to him sitting under a blanket on the couch, watching cbeebies and munching on cocktail sausages and grapes that he helped himself to out of the fridge

And this was while dinner was in the oven nearly ready grrr

He like his comforts, as soon as we come in from the cold he asks for his pyjamas and gets himself comfy

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 12:49

he must be lazy like his ma

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/11/2009 12:50

Swap VT?

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 13:01

Vinny - my DD is the same, a bit too independant for 2 though

I am also the same wrt eating like a fat girl possessed. I think it is the weather. Yes, lets blame the weather....

Shiney - you sound quite cheery about it all (doubt your cat feels the same)

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 13:04

Yes i blame the weather too, its bloody freezing today

I have made it my mission to try at get the phase 'in the grand scheme of things, does it really mattter?' into all my posts today

SparklyAlice · 30/11/2009 13:06

Pretty much sums things up

Have found MN getting a little highly strung lately (more than usual)

Need to go out but i am finally warm for the first time today and really don't want to

wastingaway · 30/11/2009 13:08

Oh it's definitely the weather.

Had shreddies with semi-skimmed milk earlier and about to have totellini with a dash of olive oil.

Then we're going to walk into town.

Shiney, your day sounds exhausting! Extra vigilance burns lots of calories I imagine.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 30/11/2009 13:12

VT....as in 'I have just consumed 1/2 packet of biscuits, a mars bar, a can of diet coke and a cream scone'

BUT

'in the grand scheme of things, does it really mattter?'

VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 13:14

A perfect example mitts

BitOfFun · 30/11/2009 13:20

Heehee, I love it! Can we all have a phrase for today? What should mine be?

"We're only human", I think

OP posts:
BitOfFun · 30/11/2009 13:24

I reckon somebody should go with a spikier one...Shiney should use "FGS woman, pull yourself together!"

FGS woman....

Can you get outside with them?

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 30/11/2009 13:30

WE should all use the same phrase, and see who manages to sneak it in to posts the most

BitOfFun · 30/11/2009 13:36

It's like that story that Princess Margaret would only ever use a few stock phrases:

Are local?

Have you come far?

There must be a couple of others, but I've forgotten them.

Right, I shall C&P Vinny's phrase and hit the boards...

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 30/11/2009 13:37

Vinny - I think that could become my mantra.

Today the washing machine has started leaking badly (and I still have a ton of dirty clothes to get clean). And the british gas appliance insurance thingy that I pay shedloads for will not repair it unless DH & I lift the very heavy dryer off it first so I will probably do my back in while doing it. But better than sodden floor and dirty clothes. And of course 'in the grand scheme of things, does it really mattter?'

I also tried to post about 4 times on BB's thread about spellings....and for some reason it wouldn't take my rant.

But on the positive side DD's bottom is nearly better thanks to you ladies and your tip on that stuff beginning with M that I can't recall how to spell (and wouldn't want to offend BB's sensibilities) - it's brilliant!

hellsbelles · 30/11/2009 13:38

I think 'don't bother with the tonic or ice' was another of her stock phrases BOF
