...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 04/12/2009 17:56

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 04/12/2009 17:58

Fingers crossed for you VT!

I'm feeling SO festive it's unreal. My friend and her soon to be DH are coming over from Italy on Xmas Eve for 10 days. Am uber excited!!!

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 04/12/2009 18:14

OK guys, another code for y'all.

Posh chocolates, 25% off anything on the site. One of my friends manages investments into this company and introduced me to them about a year ago, they are very good.....not cheap though

Any joy VT?

VinegarTinselTits · 04/12/2009 18:17

its looking promising, not heard from them yet

SazzlesOnASled · 04/12/2009 18:30

Evening - swam a mile this afternoon, and with the crappy old goggles as the Gym had run out of new ones to sell . Luckily they sorted themselves out after 10 lengths so i plodded on with relatively clear sight

mitts and (i hope) Vinny enjoy your childfree weekends

Lizzy - sorry to hear of crappy cold sore and swimming curtailment

Raises a glass to Squeezy and Bella on the sauce already

Enjoy your night out Trills and wow them in your heels

I am a boring 5'5 and size 6.5 shoe. My mum on the other hand is a 9.5AA . She has found getting shoes easier in recent years as shops are catering for the transvestite custom, although they rarely ask for a AA i imagine

Glad to hear today went ok BoF. Have you recovered from the effects of Catholocism yet?

bellavita · 04/12/2009 18:39

Hopes not to spoil being really good this week, but I will be extra good tomorrow to take it into account

The boys have had their tea, I was really lazy because I made them Nigella's donut french toast (posh eggy bread) but they love it! So the take away will be cheaper - tis normally 40 quid touch for four of us!

DH is looking rather fanciable - he has started gelling his hair - well sort of mussing it up really..... I used to shave it all off for him but he has decided to grow it again and has started to go to the barbers and they gel it for him and have shown him how to do it. He has never looked so trendy before.

DreamsInBinary · 04/12/2009 18:47

Oh bum - I ordered twopairs of shoes for DS from La Redoute only yesterday

I have been up all night with D&V, and it still hasn't gone away. Feel dreadful but also a little bit excited to see how much weight I have lost...

bellavita · 04/12/2009 18:52

DIB - reorder with the discount and send the others back.

Hope you feel better soon x

at you swimming a mile Sazz - I couldn't swim a width...

hellsbelles · 04/12/2009 19:12

Dreams - you poor thing - but fingers crossed it has the plus side of weightloss

Bella at the takeaway and well done to Mrbella for going trendy - enjoy!

Night all - off to the pub for me....hurrah!!

Just had a jacket potato with cottage cheese and beans, but i suspect the healthyness is now on a downward spiral into the red wine bottle

Glad Teddy had a nice day Shiney. You too, or stressful?

DIB - hope you recover soon and come out of it lighter and brighter

DreamsInBinary · 04/12/2009 19:40

Thanks for the sympathy, you lovely people

BoF - how are you feeling now?

A belated happy birthday to Teddy

I am getting so stressed about SS, and rather hoping that inspiration dawns this weekend.

bellavita · 04/12/2009 19:49

Takeaway was gorgeous, the boys were like vulchers, so I feel kinda virtuous. Gave DH a third of my rice (I always do anyway) and the boys got forks out and kept dipping into my plate. There was a titchy bit of wine left in the bottle so I have finished that off. >

at Sazz going to the pub.

Good day at work Shiney? See the vicar today?

BitOfFun · 04/12/2009 20:01

I'm feeling fine now thanks- it was obviously a case of being allergic to Church

Have got some peace for an hour I think- only me and dd2 (asleep) in...laaarvelly.

BoF, you clever thing, you're in the Round Up again

BitOfFun · 04/12/2009 20:54

I was a bit about that- after I'd posted, I noticed someone else had used the same phrase before me. The OP Kreacher even, I think. Who has the power of the evil eye, it seems- I hope it doesn't annoy her

BOF, glad it went well today aside from the church allergy. DH made me go to Catholic mass recently to satisfy his curiosity (I am very lapsed, he was C of E in name only). We're not going back. The sermon was all about how you aren't really married if you didn't marry in the church.

I finally did my WW points tracker tonight after letting it lapse for a few days....and I've got a whole day's points to make up before Monday, which is impossible. I'm tempted to say fuck it and have some cake, start again next week, but that's exactly the kind of attitude that helped me get this fat....

It wasn't horrible at all, quite nice really.

I took dd2 out in my mum's car this afternoon because she was getting grotty and starting to pinch me etc- I'm trying to pay more attention to avoiding meltdowns by anticipating and heading them off at the pass. It's much better than trying to physically grapple with her once she has started to kick off. So I jollied her along, put a cute dress on her and we went Visiting. Which I never do, given her behaviour. But I chanced it, and we took a baby present over to my friend's house- one of these for her two-week old baby. Anyway, we had a lovely little twenty minute visit or so, and Rosie kissed the baby and was giggling at him, clearly quite impressed- it was all very cute.

We quit while we were ahead, came back, and I got her up to bed at the first sign of grottiness and she zonked. Feel very relieved.

I just got a text saying the baby has had his first non-traumatic bath and he seemed to really like it.

So it's been a good day.

Hello hello. Been away for day or two due to - er can't really remember. Work, christmas shopping and tantrums, I think. Off to catch up.

TrillianAstra · 04/12/2009 22:21

Happy at your good day BoF.

Big night out is tomorrow. Went for a fe after-work drinks this evening, DP moved onto 2nd pub but I came home to chill. He has promised he won't be hungover and moany tomorrow.

I have another presenty thing in the post, it's not labelled but I think it must be my other SS present.
