...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

We still had the pound note in Scotland till a couple/few years ago. Haven't seen one for ages though

Used to love getting pound notes when I was small, it felt like it was millions as it was proper paper, like what adults got

I am making Amaretto and Vanilla candles, the kitchen smells like a dream. If any of you lot would like to FB me your address, I'd be glad to pop one in the post for you as a little xmas novelty

jetcat · 03/12/2009 18:07

Sazzles - well done on the run, and about the not so secret santa!

Mini is still illing - she hasnt moved much off the couch, although it takes half a bottle some calpol to get her to actually sleep I am desparately hoping not to catch it - although i think i may be pushing my luck as i managed to hold off catching juniors back in the summer hols

Hi to everyone, laptop is hopefully being returned next week, so will be able to lounge on the couch while surfing access the web much more

Lizzylou · 03/12/2009 18:11

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 03/12/2009 18:51

I can only see a couple of addresses on Efster.....don't wanna give away my SSs by saying whose I can see if you know what I mean. So anyone who wants one, then you need to FB me or mail me at

h o l y g u a c a m o l e 1 2 3 @ googlemail.com

(remember and take out the spaces)

I am also making shortbread scented ones and a few other scents so it will be a lucky dip as to which one I randomly guess think you'd fancy

TrillianAstra · 03/12/2009 18:58

I got a SS prezzie in the post! Very exciting!!!

Now trying to get some wrapping done before DP gets back from visiting a friend.

Is it wrong to make thai curry (which I have a craving for) when I know he went for thai at lunchtime?

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 03/12/2009 19:04

Yep DIB, anyone on this thread

Trills, I think Thai twice in one day is ok....as long as DP appraises yours more favourably than the one he had at lunch

TrillianAstra · 03/12/2009 19:11

Apparently he's getting food at the pub with his friend so I can do as I like

Congratulations Alice
Bugger of a way to find out Bof
You are all mad those here who run
Posting ss hopefully saturday but need to finish sorting tonight if poss else will be monday.
Hopefully making christmas pressies next week but taking advantage of a boy free weekend and hitting the planning & esaay thing this weekend. rearranged it yesterday, appears ex can have his moments of being gold. Not as nice as had planned but necessary.

Wow squeezy bet it smells lovely with those candles. Had tried looking into getting some bits but got floored by companys who only use fucking arsing paypal do you know of any online suppliers who are bit more sensible?

TrillianAstra · 03/12/2009 20:13

Just defrosted some chicken and it smelled off. Yuck. Not feeling like eating now

Had to empty the kitchen bin to get it away from me.

DontEatMountains · 03/12/2009 20:15

Oh for who ever is getting my ss, i didnt cheat and i was on budget. promise. Do with it as you see fit

TrillianAstra · 03/12/2009 20:22

I didn't spend more than £2 on the present. I promise.

bellavita · 03/12/2009 20:32

I have got some cadbury caramal bars in the fridge.... I have just eaten an orange instead but it just did not have the same effect.. I can taste the chocolate and caramel now Mmmmmm.

Trill, that is so naff when you fancy something and then that happens. What will you have now?

We had tagliatelle genovese from one of my Jamie books. I was there online last night doing my shopping thinking we could have chicken and prawn stirfry and when I totted up the costs - £4 for the chicken, £2.50 (on offer) jumbo prawns, £1 pack nooodles x 2 and a bag of stirfry £1.50 I was shocked. So I thought to myself well I have an abundance of spuds still to be used and green beans in the freezer so only needed to get pesto and fresh pasta and voil >

BitOfFun · 03/12/2009 20:32

When do we open them? All on the same day? It will kill me not to peek, but nothing has come yet.
