and I am really scared.

I had cervical cancer at a very young age and have been really careful about living healthy and looking after my body.

I have been feeling really groggy for the past couple of months and getting very tired.

Today I am acheing all over and have had the most horrific headache.

DH has been a complete angel and is taking ocver and looking after everyone in the house whilst I rest. He ran me a bath so I could go and have a soak and I have found a lump in my breast.

Im so scared to tell him because he lost his mother to breast and cervical cancer. It has been his biggest fear that given my history and the fact I have been on HRT for nearly 15 years that one day I will tell him I have found a lump.

Im really scared.

Jaysmummy, do hope all goes well for you with this. I'll sign off here now as I saw consultant today, and after a mammogram he said no need for a biopsy as it's just thickened breast tissue due to hormones. V good luck .

What a long day!!!
Ive had an ultra sound, mammogram and biopsy.....so just have to sit back and wait now for results to come back. I should hear in the next 7 - 10 days.
Consultant was fab and explained everything to me as and when it was happeneing.

Feeling OKish and certainly more positive that at least things are in motion.

Thanks for all your good wishes, they have been appreciated.

I went through this a couple of years ago and thankfully it turned out to be benign. I hated the needle biopsy, though. My thoughts are with you and your family - but in so many cases the lump turns out to be ok, so try to keep hold of that thought.

Just read your thread JM, I really hope this turns out to be benign for you. I am shocked at the wait you're going through though & can imagine how difficult it is. I found a lump shortly after dd was born which fortunately turned out to be a cyst. Hope yours does too, thinking of you. Don't try and be too brave for everyone else, you're allowed tears of shock and anger too.

Update.

Consultant phoned me at home tonight and Ive had excellent news and some not so good.

The lump is a Fibroadenoma...begnign lump.Phew!!!!
Im having it removed as given my past history its best not to leave it. Surgery in next 4-6 weeks time. They are also going to fix the problem of my inverted nipple....which has been caused by my body aging before its time! Its all due to the fact I had a hysterectomy at 21 and the menopause at 19. Apparently my body thinks its 20 years older than it really is...and it feels it somedays!!!!

Bad news....when I had my hysterectomy some residual tissue was left behind by mistake and I need to have surgery to remove the tissue as its far to high risk to leave it in place.

Thanks to everyone for your support and kind words....Ive appreciated them all.

Thats good news JM, good of them to phone you to tell you the news rather than make you make an appointment.
