People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

OP posts:

@ iggy. where have you been girl have a look on the active threads they are there most fridays and on other special days. hint they have Baaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr in the title

hellsbelles · 11/11/2009 20:21

TOTALly filled fridge now too...I have just marinated chicken for t/m in it and I think breakfasts for the next 500 years will have a yoghurty flavour. It all feels rather decadent to have so much of the stuff. Mum is round t/m so she will be going home loaded with it!

Sorry I've been totally crap at keeping up recently. Work has been horribly busy and I am exhausted because DD has decided to wake up non stop for the last few nights. And now I have one of those slightly itchy throats...that I'm scared is going to turn into something horrible. Anyway - enough moaning...

Shiney glad your day went well despite the hugs!

Bella - that brownie recipe has no place here you terrible temptress you! I'm actually salivating at the thought of baking them.

TrillianAstra · 11/11/2009 20:24

Mm, what did you marinate your chicken in hells?

Bella - can you put brownie recipe on the recipe thread please? So I can find it again? Please?

Iggipepperedfillet · 11/11/2009 20:27

DEM, keeping up with this thread takes most of my evening! Had two lovely pints of guiness tonight, lots of calories but full of iron or so I'm told. Celebrating my boss getting a new job! (and leaving).

hellsbelles · 11/11/2009 20:28

Trills - massive cheater that I am - I've used a shop bought tandoori paste and a chopped up onion mixed with the yoghurt. Then I'm going to bung it in the oven t/m night. And I"m sure to also serve a yoghurt dip on the side

copperjar · 11/11/2009 20:28

Evening all! I seem to have missed this being a weight-loss thread, but I will just stick my head in and say hi from time to time if that's still ok? You must think I'm a bit dense not to read the OP. Oh well, I suppose I could shift a few pounds, but I do like my cream buns...

bellavita · 11/11/2009 20:29

No problem Trillian, will do it now

bellavita · 11/11/2009 20:31

Hells, they are so easy to make too, literally take a couple of mins in the bowl to mix, tis a fool proof recipe.

SazZaVoom · 11/11/2009 20:31

Lizzy - i drink a LOT of Blue gin, i have to be in on that one, although i am sure a taste test would no reveal anything i do not already know

Well done Shiney on your Quorn front and confessing to MNHQ our true prostituting natures as food testers extraordinaire

Trills - can i have some of your curries please? They sound delish and homemade are so much better than takeaway IMVHO

bellavita · 11/11/2009 20:37

SazZ & Lizzy, I love Bombay Sapphire.

Do we have our own recipe thread ladies? or does it just go on the mn one?

copperjar - tis a healthy eating thread, you don't have to lose weight, don't feel you have to leave us.

hellsbelles · 11/11/2009 20:38

Bella - I really will give them a try.

Trills - yes please can we have your curry recipe?

TrillianAstra · 11/11/2009 20:39

swears loudly at failing technology

"Good intentions keep us going" to right!

hide stash of contriband and evidence of earlier munchings. Tis a late night tonight. on a plus side now drunk 2litres of coke and feel like I'm flying. Goodness knows if i will actually get any sleep as start the day at 5am these days and have to be at school for about 7.45am tomo as have 31 books with 2 lots of homeworks to mark before registration so that the students can revise for a test. Anyone have a magic wand to sort paper work?

wastingaway · 11/11/2009 21:06

Homemade brownies have no artificial preservatives etc. Very healthy.

Evening, I'm not doing so well this evening, stressing out for very little reason and eating s again.

bellavita · 11/11/2009 21:08

Trills, how many portions does the curry make? Will it feed four or is it just for two?

hellsbelles · 11/11/2009 21:11

I just got an email from Julie too - at 8.45pm! That woman works far too hard.

Wasting - that's my view too - homemade is the key isn't it

DEM - wish I could wave a magic wand for you

It's 500g of meat so I'd say it'll feed 4. Dpends if your 4 includes giant ravenous teenagers or normal humans.

I'm making 2 types of curry for Fri but expect lots of leftovers.

bellavita · 11/11/2009 21:19

Well, DH and DS1 have decent man sized portions and myself and DS2 have smaller ones so hopefully we should all get fed!
