People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Just checking on yers

ds2 is currently kicking me in the head, bugging me to make cakes (the packet kind of course)

Best get too it, dont forget to include me in the quorn fest

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 11/11/2009 18:18

DS has been bullied a lot over the last 2/3 years and came home the other day and said a girl was kicking him in the 'gooolies' on a regular basis.

We talked about how he would like it dealt with, and I am trying to help him deal with it himself, so I suggested he look her directly in the eye and tell her firmly to 'stop it' . He said he did and touch wood she has stopped, . I am SO pleased for him. He also said he is learning to control his anger when they wind him up at school so they don't pick on him so much.

I am soo proud of him..

Whooa way to go MasterMitts

Vinny, would you like my brownie recipe?

DreamsInBinary · 11/11/2009 18:28

Mits, that's fab

jetforkesandbonfires · 11/11/2009 18:29

well done little mits

jetforkesandbonfires · 11/11/2009 18:30

its prob for the best if the quorn fest is offered to more than just this thread - can you imagine the uproar if our clique just got it

DreamsInBinary · 11/11/2009 18:37

Do you think we are getting a name for ourselves? [naive emoticon]

But every thread title says that all are welcome, and we are very friendly.

Lizzylou · 11/11/2009 18:41

Good for your DS, Mits.
Yep, it seems we are being sniped at a bit, have noticed it here and there.
Wouldn't mind but I know it's friendly here, I started halfway through and you haven't got rid of me yet..............

My fridge looks like an advert for TOTAL.

I don't mind missing out on the Quorn fest (especially of it goes to people on this thread and especially if they had missed out on the Total).

Off to email Bombay Sapphire.......

VinegarTits · 11/11/2009 18:41

yes please bella

jetforkesandbonfires · 11/11/2009 18:52

yay - my yoghurt came - and my fridge also looks like a store cupboard for TOTAl

23 pots but no honey one

bellavita · 11/11/2009 19:00

Brownie Recipe

10oz marg (softened)
13oz caster sugar
4 eggs
3oz cocoa powder
4oz self-raising flour
4oz chocolate chips

traybake tin or roasting tin (12x9x1 1/2)

Grease tin and line with non stick paper.

Bung everything (apart from chocolate chips) into a bowl and whizz on high speed with hand mixer until evenly mixed. Add chocolate chips (I have done it without them and the brownies still taste nice)

Wack in the oven at 180 or 160 fan for about 40 mins.

VinegarTits · 11/11/2009 19:02

Thanks

I dont own an electric whisk

bellavita · 11/11/2009 19:09

Vinny, by hand is fine - I have done it this way too, it works out the same.

VinegarTits · 11/11/2009 19:12

oh good, it will be a workout aswell

bellavita · 11/11/2009 19:14

Vinny - you do make me laugh >

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/11/2009 19:21

Dib what do you mean getting? You lot had a name back before i joined and that was decades ago now

bellavita · 11/11/2009 19:23

at DEM

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/11/2009 19:24

Dont think it helps that shiney is infamous round these parts

Pengiun anyone?

Iggipepperedfillet · 11/11/2009 19:42

Yes please. How about this for a plan - Quorn agree to fly us all to London (or wherever Quorn HQ is), put us up in lovely hotel and subject us to arduous Quorn taste-tests for a weekend.

TrillianAstra · 11/11/2009 19:42

I have just put together a lamb curry to cook, casserole-style, cos we're having friends round on Friday. I'm also going to do a creamy chicken curry with some of my yoghurt.

DP is out playing squash this evening. Don't know what I'll have for dinner. Not yoghurt

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 11/11/2009 19:43

But any long running thread can seem cliquey, because there is an established pattern, and to a certain extent if you don't relate to the particualr style of the thread then it is no-one's fault.

I don't drink, so I don't go on the bar threads, but I wouldn't accuse them of being cliquey just because I didn't feel it was my thing.

I always try to welcome folk (although I might have frightened KitkatQueen off because I threatened to nibble her), but we are a gobby chatty lot who have a lot to say for ourselves, so it easy to get lost in the posts...

Perhaps we should have an initiation ceremony for people who want to join and a 'buddy' scheme...

Iggipepperedfillet · 11/11/2009 19:56

There are bar threads?
