Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

jetonthedancefloor · 13/10/2009 08:02

morning peeps

today i will be mostly pushing pushchairs on extremely long walks and eating no fat chicken broth 8 days to weigh in

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 08:53

Morning all

Sounds like a good day Jet 8 days to weight in, where's the time gone?

hellsbelles · 13/10/2009 09:12

Morning...I'm at work today so masses to catch up on.

But it'll be a good food day - as I have no time to snack.

What's all this about weighing in 8 days?

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 09:22

Morning. Stayed out late last night, too embarrassed to come on here after (DP insisted we had to be sociable and go on to the late-open place). Had gin and tonic not beer so not feeling too hungover (half the alcohol if you match drinks) but quite tired. Also ate some cheese and crackers when I got home.

bellavita · 13/10/2009 09:33

Hi

I am 12/5 today at work, had a lazy morning so far catching up on some taped tv whilst having toast and coffee - although I got tonights curry into the slow cooker for 7.30!

Going to go and have my shower so catch you later...

Trills, gin and tonic - very good! Tis what I had last friday when I went out.

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 09:44

Very good on the G&T front Trills!

Hells always handy when you don't have time to snack - snacking is my downfall!

hellsbelles · 13/10/2009 09:46

Trills - hope that was slimline tonic - G&T used to be my drink but I never got drunk when I had it (no matter how hard I tried) - which I suppose is good but I did miss that giggly drunk feeling!

Bella - I love how organised you are - it does inspire me. Curry cooking already would be so nice. I'm tempted to get a slow cooker - are they really good?

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 09:51

Mmm, curry. I have chinesy chicken with rice for lunch. Love leftovres, and DP has no microwave in work so they are all for me!

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 09:56

I love our healthy eating thread - we don't stop drinking but we make better drink choices

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 09:58

We're not allowed to stop drinking it's the law

I keep toying with the idea of getting a slow cooker, DH made the face when I mentioned it though!

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 10:02

Do you have to put things in it hot? Or can you realy just throw stuff in and put it on and go to work?

VineGruesomeTits · 13/10/2009 10:47

I have left over thai chicken and mushroom broth for lunch

It is soooo delicious that i can't stop thinking about it, i can hear it shouting me from the office fridge saying 'you know you want me, eat me, eat me NOW'

Can't wait until 12pm so i can eat it

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 10:49

Drinking lots of tea. I actually slept amazingly well last night, so even though I didn't get so much sleep it was really good-quality sleep.

Wish I liked mushrooms. Might force myself to have some anyway just so I can make that soup (its on our recipe thread right?).

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 10:57

Vinny food talking to you is not a good sign I think you need to lie down in a dark cupboard!

VineGruesomeTits · 13/10/2009 10:59

Yes its on the recipes, one of Sazzles recipes i think, i am sure you could subsitute the mushrooms for something else (not sure what though, i am no Deliah when it comes to cooking) or maybe just put extra chicken in it instead, you have to try it though, it is amazing

VineGruesomeTits · 13/10/2009 11:01

Really Norma, gosh i think i best had lie down then, there is a peach on my desk saying to me 'nah you dont want to eat me, have some chocolate intead'

bellavita · 13/10/2009 11:01

Trill, yes I do just throw stuff in and leave it, although this morning I had time to just quickly fry the onions, mushrooms and peppers, bunged those in the pot,cut the chicken breasts up and shoved them in, put a tin of toms in and two tins of pataks curry sauce, et voila, done.

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 11:03

Oh dear Vinny you've got it bad - yes a lie down in a dark cupboard is needed & needed now

hellsbelles · 13/10/2009 11:19

Trills - I think they did some horrible study to prove that even though we think we sleep well when we 'partake' of alcohol - it's not a proper sleep for some reason I can't remember why and I remember being so disappointed.

TrillianSlasher · 13/10/2009 11:19

And how long can you leave it for? If I chuck stuff in (cold) at 8.30 am will I have something tasty to eat at 7.30 pm, 11 hours later?

jetonthedancefloor · 13/10/2009 12:11

hells - i get weighed at the GPs every 4 weeks, due to the medication i am taking. If i dont lose any weight - i dont get no tablets - lord knows why i am grinning there - it is a distinct possibility this month

DreamsInBinary · 13/10/2009 12:17

Do you think you have gained at all, Jet? Because if not, you could prob lose a fair amount in eight days if you are very sensible.

NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 12:29

Jet what about the Special K plan? That would definately loose (lose?) you a pound or 2 in 8 days! I do it when I need a kick start, I tend to have bran flakes though as more filling
