Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Morning (afternoon) Shiney!

I'm trying to think what to cook for me & the DC for lunch but am at a complete loss TBH I can't actually be bothered as I still feel like pap but guess I kind of have to feed the DC

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 13:34

Morning. People have left now. On phone to mum.

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 14:02

I have supernoodles, 10 things I hate about you, and some fighty threads to look at. If that doesn't cure the hangover nothing will.

NormaSknockers · 11/10/2009 14:38

Had pasta bake in the end, quick easy & filling

Currently baking cakes to take to Sunday school & have eaten a few spoonfulls small bits of cake mix I don't even want to think about how many points that would have been....do you think it would be less seeings as it wasn't cooked I'm terrible for cake mix!

Lizzylou · 11/10/2009 14:43

Cakemix is nicer than actual cake, I don't think it has any calories, well, not many, ok, bloody loads

Cooking roast chicken, veg etc, better go and set up the playdough so DS2 doesn't keep pestering me whilst I create my masterpiece.

What is going on with MN at the moment?
It is all barmy arse bonkers.

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 14:46

Barmy arse bonkers. Love it

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 14:53

Come window shop with me - I want to look at coats

hellsbelles · 11/10/2009 15:06

oh I love James McAvoy - it's those intense eyes (though have to admit DH has similar ) But he is diddy. I think I'd tower over him which I always find a bit off putting in my crushes! Harrison Ford was exactly the same height as me which I found a bit - I thought he'd be all manly and tall.

Norma - cakemix is half the calories of cooked cake - scientific FACT

Trillian - I'm shite at shopping otherwise I'd help.

DS is practising his guitar and DD is playing all by herself hurrah -so I'm going to enourage their own space by spending a bit of time on MN!

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 15:10

Oh my god, how tall is Harrison Ford?

hellsbelles · 11/10/2009 15:11

Well I'm about 5 ft 9 and he seemed the same height as me as I asked for his autograph (I was 17 at the time!). He was quite broad though so I suppose that is something!

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 15:11

Says here Harrison Ford is 6'1, that's pretty tall in my book.

hellsbelles · 11/10/2009 15:13

That's the official line but he certainly didn't seem like that when I was standing right next to him! Sean Connery was there at the same time (they were filming that Indiana Jones thing) and he WAS tall.

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 15:15

Sean Connery allegedly 6'2 1/2 from the same site. They do, erm, exaggerate though.

Are you really tall then, or wearing stonking great heels? And why were you standing next to Harrison Ford?

hellsbelles · 11/10/2009 15:21

I'm quite tall (about 5 9 but not 6 1!!!) and no heels. They were filming a scene from Indiana Jones (the one where Sean Connery plays his Dad) and for some reason used our school playground to park all the cast trailers and catering. Seems like an odd idea as it was an all girls school and we all got rather excited!

As a 6th former for some reason I was allowed to loiter! Which I did shamelessly with my friends and then managed to get autographs.

Lizzylou · 11/10/2009 15:52

Oh, I am 5ft 9" too, bum, had a feeling he'd be short.
NOt that it matters, but, you know a bored housewife can dream over the cooking....

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 15:54

He's too old now anyway. Back then though...

SpookyAlice · 11/10/2009 16:56

I think Harrison Ford has the whole cross generational appeal thing going for him you know? As in the whole family can drool over him and not feel wrong (well, maybe if my Grandad started to....)

Lizzylou · 11/10/2009 17:54

Sean Connery in Marnie...

Paul Newman in Cat on a hot tin roof...

Cor!

Used to love snuggling up on the sofa watching old films with my Mom as a teen (hormones secretly going berserk due to dishy leading men).

Can't see appeal to old Harrison, especially as he now seems to have had a bit of a mid life crisis.

NormaSknockers · 11/10/2009 18:23

Ooo glad to hear cake mix is half the calories I'm trying my hardest not to eat one as they look & smell yummy! I made far to many so will have to send DH into work with them.....can just picture all the hardened coppers tucking into pink cupcakes with glittery sprinkles

Have to say neither Sean or Harrison do it for me....now Clive Owen or DT - mmmmmmm!

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 18:25

David Tennant has beautiful eyes but mostly looks like a girly man. Too skinny.

Healthy eating not going so well today. I've had a banana and some orange juice (and a fair amount of crap).

NormaSknockers · 11/10/2009 18:29

Same build as my DH, got a nice arse Although it's not good having a DH with a smaller waist then your own

SpookyAlice · 11/10/2009 18:30

Used to fancy Clive Owen but he was so sleazy in Closer, it really put me off him. Still quite yummy in King Arthur though....
DT i quite like, but then i quite like geeky men and i do love a scottish accent

Healthy eating not so great for me today either. Have already started on the sherry (such an old woman) and we are having suasage casserole for dinner with jacket potatoes.

Lizzylou · 11/10/2009 18:37

Clive Owen, is lovely, very sexy, pouty lips.

DT is far too skinny for my tastes, a bit androgenous (sp?).

Daniel Craig, Rupert Penry Jones....now they are more like it.

Funny how I only really liked blondes once I met my blonde DH, before that I only liked dark haired men.

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 18:39

If Alan Rickman looked as good as he sounds...

Watching Come Dine With Me on More4. No idea what's for dinner. DP gone out cos his best friend needed man chat.

Just listened to a lovely song - anyone got teenagers?

TrillianSlasher · 11/10/2009 18:40

Androgenous - exactly Lizzy!
