Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

Sausage and mash for dinner. DP on the phone to his mum chatting about her getting divorced from his dad (complicated).

I am trying to not listen in. I can't hear words at all, but I can occassionally hear a bit of voice and it's hard not to wonder if he is okay.

EVen Alice/Jet are not logging the exercise challenge everyone can log their own exercise and report it here. Well done on the walking wasting!

I am just feeling like a blob atm - probably as Flo here and no exercise since Fri. Have just eaten half of DD2's bag of chocolate buttons she got in a party bag at the weekend . And i don't even really like chocolate FFS

Shiney - how are you feeling healthwise with teh abs? Ignoring the rest of the shite going on as is my usual plan and come here, post natal thread and local thread

Hope mrtrill is ok

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 20:57

Amongst all this I forgot that you have quit, Illustrious Leader. How long until you leave?

bellavita · 05/10/2009 21:02

Hi...

and how did they take it shiney when you handed in your notice?

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 05/10/2009 21:05

Yes we need to brighten up guys! Am gonna try and keep it light for the forseeable future and just hang around here and not get involved in stuff. Have joined a craft swap thingamy on another thread so that will keep me out of troubled threads. Dieting and crafting - woohoo!!

bellavita · 05/10/2009 21:05

Trill, I love sausage and mash. Will MrTrills need an extra bit of tlc?

Oh slime, you are having a bad time of it . Has she chosen designer frames?

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 21:10

Shiney, my friend at Uni burst a blood vessel in her eye after vomiting too much whilst hungover. Hope alls well.
DS1 wears glasses, they are v cool these days. Though very smeary by the end of the day.

No further news from DH, do hope he's asleep.
He said he was saying goodnight now at 6.30pm as he "wouldn't make much sense later", not sure if that means he'll call again.

Hope DP's OK, Trills.

bellavita · 05/10/2009 21:11

Have you been at the same station all the time you have been in the force?

So i take it you weren't the lady in the shop in Q . I couldn't work out if it was a pisstake (ha ha) thread, especially when Reg came in with his mop

Poor DD's eye - is she ok about wearing glasses? Must be difficult at that age

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 21:14

Yes I'm sure the optician loved you.

How is DD going to go to the Dr without you there? If you go you'll spread your lurgy (just like you spread it to everyone in your meeting and at the opticians).

Thanks for the loving and cheer Squeezy!

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 21:15

Poor Shiney's DD. Give her a hug (in the morning if she is asleep now) and explain that it is very hard to keep your temper when you feel like shit very unwell.

Aw Slimey, it's been a tough day. You need rest, a nice blanket on the sofa and a big mug of something hot. Hope the tablets make you feel better soon.

Trills, hope DP is ok.

I can only do that on the thread, in RL I am quite tuneless.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 21:26

It's fun to hug Shiney cos she doesn't like real hugs. Not quite ironic or post-modern, but there's a thrill of the illicit when she's too weak to fight me off

DD will have to toughen up then Shiney, and realise that people do get angry sometimes, especially if you wind them up when they are ill. Can't be too sensitive in this world. She should count herself lucky to live in your calm house full of jelly snakes.
