Erm......Hi

Welcome to the Shiney weight loss thread. Some of us are trying to lose a little and some of us are trying to lose a lot. Either way, join in the fun! It is a VERY fast moving thread!

Shiney is the boss around here and makes sure everyone is feeling welcome, thread number 18 sure says a lot!

All welcome, its not just diet talk either, mucho chatting and gossip too

OP posts:
SqueezyCheese · 13/09/2009 23:15

Was a pain in the ass Shiney. I was using my garden hoover to hoover up leaves and it just stopped.

I live in the middle of nowhere, 2 miles from the nearest village so when it got dark it was utterly pitch black. And I confess, I made DH escort me to the loo when he got in from work as I was a bit scared of going upstairs in the darkness on my own......yes, I am a wuss!

SqueezyCheese · 13/09/2009 23:16

TSC - I think SAF was avoiding the thread, dunno if she has maybe fallen off the wagon for a while?

Back on the wagon tomorrow TSC?

to ABW

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 23:22

Oh goodness, I have had the vaguest of dings elsewhere.

I was just trying to be helpful to an OP and now I think I have offended someone who I am sure I have seen elsewhere and is very nice.

What do you do if you're not sure whether you've said something not ok or not?

It's the disabled parking bay thread. I just stormed in there with all my practical advice having been through similar with neighbour directly opposite, but seem to have upset someone with a disabled DS.

Now, you ladies know me, I am not really that sort of person am I. And I got a bit about being told I was being insensitive...but maybe I was?

Anyway, I think the lady in question has retired...

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 23:29

Oh, I've not lied about the ages of my DC's by the way, I was referring to their ages at time of removal of said bay.

DreamsInBinary · 13/09/2009 23:37

Oh, I've just been reading that thread.

I think the poster is a little blinkered (perhaps understandably) but is being quite unreasonable.

Declaring oneself or one's children to be disabled does not add significantly to this particular debate, in my opinion.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 23:39

You are v. kind to me DIB. But I have bumbled an apology in any case.

SqueezyCheese · 13/09/2009 23:50

I don't think you were out of order at all Syc. You can't please all the people all the time and you can't win the rest of the time either At least we can come in here and hide out when the heat is on though

travellingwilbury · 14/09/2009 06:47

Good morning all

Weigh in today and I have lost 3 pounds

I am really pleased , that is 10 pounds in 3 weeks . Lets hope this motivation keeps up and I can get out to do the excercise , that is def making the difference .

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/09/2009 07:11

Hi all..

Hmmm, I do visit the wonky spire town from time to time, perhaps our paths will pas one day, DEM.

I have been on my rowing machine (which is very good for upper arms). Not for half an hour but I just thought I'd mention it.

I suspect I am unwell, with a sore throat and thick head. And I can't decide if I am warm or cold. Bah.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/09/2009 07:14

oh, and well done tw. . That is brilliant.

FlamingoBingo · 14/09/2009 07:20

TW! (I just mistyped 'sock' when I did that smiley - glad I noticed! )

I did a sneaky weigh-in just now and have lost another pound already! I cannot believe I would ever think periods were a good thing .

9st 11.5lb - woohoo!

I am well under 10st now and I hereby vow that never in my life will I be over 10st again!

DoNotBringLulu · 14/09/2009 07:21

Morning all

Syc, I was worried the other day about one of my posts being insensitive, someone's dh was being vile and I posted with a story about how an ex-bf was similar and I once (drunkenly) threw a wine glass at his head, didn't hurt, but it bounced.

The poor woman was having a terrible time, and I thought it may have sounded flippant, but luckily the post got ignored.

I read your post, I just took it as an alternative experience, parking is a bloody pain.

I only posted on an AIBU lusting about Colin Firth.

Anyway, I did well yesterday and only ate healthily at meal times.

Now have 2 packed lunches to do, dd staying at lunch in receptin. I had better go and stop yakking on here. Be back later.

travellingwilbury · 14/09/2009 07:25

Thanks for the well dones

Just hope I can keep it up . It def helps being able to come on here (even if I can't keep up properly )

I won't be able to much today as I have got mym 3 yr old at home and my god daughter who is 2 here all afternoon . Could tidy up my tip of a house I suppose

Sycamoretreeisvile · 14/09/2009 07:50

Morning syc, morning TMW.

DoNotBringLulu · 14/09/2009 08:00

Morning Flam, I sneakily weighed last night as well and seems to be going down.

Lizzylou · 14/09/2009 08:06

Yay for TW and FB

Am ready for the week, have doing my Gareth Cheeseman "I'm a tiger grrr" impressions and am going to sort stuff out this week, oh yes.

Not least the exercise, which has slipped quite dramatically.
Luckily DH is majorly suffering after Cricket and can barely walk, so he will be housebound and can look after the boys mwah mwah mwah.

Have good days

bellavita · 14/09/2009 08:37

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/09/2009 08:44

Well done TW on your weight loss and also FB.

Good news.

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/09/2009 08:46

PMSL Gareth Cheeseman. Oh I love Steve Coogan in all his forms.

"Dan! Dan! Dan! Dan!"

Hello everyone. Good on you Shiney for yesterday on the crap mother thread - was going to put my two penn'orth in but laptop ran out of juice and have lost the lead (where the frig is it, where).

Back on the wagon in no uncertain terms today. Am starting of with 886 cals per day as I am hoping to go to gym but got so much on at the mo I may not make it. I have got 5 x weightwatchers meals in the freezer so that is my dinner for the week, will be souping it for lunch. No sweets, no crisps, no crap.

GetOrfMoiLand · 14/09/2009 08:48

Sazzles - about 400 posts ago you mentioned bingo wings. There is a good exercise on PowerPlate which I am convinced has helped my wobbly buts, you sit in front of powerplate with your arms on the machine (at max Hz), then you do tricep dips (diagrams in the powerplate book). Worth a go - it made my arms ache which is always a good sign , I think.
