Just printed off boarding passes - yay!

I remember when I was younger I would pack so much in advance, and spend ages deliberating over what clothees to take on holiday. Now I've just done some washing so everything is clean, and I'll throwthings into a bag tomorrow evening. DP has it even easier, he just lifts a stack of t-shirts from a drawer adn is good to go. I have to figure out what underwear I need for different outerwear.

Hope DD is settled in ok Lulu

Shiney - I have found (ok, my DD was only 4) but cutting the sandwiches with that dolphin/heart shaped cutter was AMAZING. Every child ate a sandwich, and 4 girls would not return to the gym afterwards as were too busy hoovering up grub.

I did:
Shaped sarnies - Tuna, Cheese, Ham
Crisps - An abundance of
Juice in cartons - apple and orange - just easier in cartons though more exp.
Ye olde sausages on fancy sticks with bits of coloured frill
Some babybels as DD loves them
Iced rings
Cadburys chocolate animal biscuits
Some carrot and cucumber sticks - some kids do actually like this
Some fancy cocktails sticks that were kind of strawberry and blueberry kebabs. I only made one plate...they looked so pretty and were all eaten.
Cup cakes - decorated in VERY brightly coloured icing and mad sweets on top...like jelly spiders, jazzies, white/pink choc ice-cream shapes, foam mushrooms etc. All on a cheapo cake stand. VERY MUCH ENJOYED BY ALL.

So there are my tips for free. I based sandwiches on each child eating one dolphin and one small heart shapes each. Had very litle left and parents hoovered up what was.

Oooh, forgot to say we've been for a walk along the river and our our first sit on a pub bench, have a pint and a glass of rose for the lady, shared two packs of crips between the four of us and juice for the kids.

What bliss.

travellingwilbury · 13/09/2009 17:47

I want to eat rubbish today

I have done so much excercise this week ( for me ) that if I cock it up today when weigh in is tomorrow I will be very grumpy .

But I have got my fire lit and it is rubbish weather and it is making me want to cosy up with choc and interesting snacks

Someone come and slap me

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 17:51

Cybercinders, are you OK?
Anything we can help with?

Have had nice day watching cricket/chasing boys and playing football. Sometimes I wonder what life would be life with a female in the family, mind you I was a tomboy and played football and I suppose the exercise will do me good.

Had a smoked salmon pate roll for lunch and am still stuffed so dinner will be nowt or some fruit.

Must do DS1's reading book with him now...

You do have to cut the sandwiches in little triangles at least though.

I am no longer dieting and I'm still here. It's fun.

Thanks Shiney

I am trying but my fire is shouting out for interesting snacks , and my dh has taken my 5 yr old to the park and my 3yr old is snoozing on the sofa so I am officially bored

travellingwilbury · 13/09/2009 18:07

Good luck with the rocky roads , you have more stamina than I do if you manage to not eat any of them . Which admittedly today is not saying an awful lot .

TrillianAstra · 13/09/2009 18:08

Cup of hot soup to sit by the fire with? IS that a good fireside snack?

travellingwilbury · 13/09/2009 18:11

Trill , that is a good idea but tbh I am so bloody hot in here now I was thinking of maybe ice cream

TrillianAstra · 13/09/2009 18:17

No, icecream is a bad idea, it will melt and you will be foreced to eat it quickly and it will be gone too soon and not appreciated enough for the amount of calories.

travellingwilbury · 13/09/2009 18:20

Good point well made .

Coming on to here and yabbering rubbish has put me off the idea now )kind of)

Think I will have a vodka and ginger beer instead . Diet of course .

I am supposed to be cooking a king oprawn stir fry in abit but cba .

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 18:21

No, no, no Shiney, you are missing the point. It's quicker than cutting them!!!

See here - 3 sarnies from 2 rounds, one simple, firm press down, et voila. You are mother of the year
