Aww thanks ladies for being so kind.

Syc - well I do have a leeetle bit of a crush on you.... any contact is better than no contact!!

I also have a mouth full of ulcers which hurt like buggery and I know this is a sign of being run down.

Have had my lunch (salad and a small jacket potato).

Am going to go and clean the shower room and bathroom then have a rest.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 13:08

No No No, you are NOT going to clean that bathroom and shower room!

You are going to have a rest now...

The bathroom etc will survive without being polished to perfection one week. Your knee and your mental health however, may not.

You have your orders. You must obey or there will be a forfeit.

VinegarTits · 13/09/2009 13:16

Glad my silliness cheered you up Syc, see i am useful sometimes

FlamingoBingo · 13/09/2009 13:22

OMG Bella. Don't you dare clean the shower room and bathroom! It won't do any of you any harm at all if it misses a clean for a week - trust me! But you may do yourself harm if you don't rest - your body needs to rest to heal properly!

Listen to me - I am a nurse!

FlamingoBingo · 13/09/2009 13:48

Oh dear! I just fell over in the kitchen and landed face down - my mouth was open and I landed on one of the girls' freshly made biscuits! Oops! Totally an accident - really!

That's a great excuse, Flam!

Bella, agree with Flam, leave the housework, look after yourself. How many hours per week is your new job?

Syc - My dd's second week at school from tomorrow. You were right to suggest DoNotBringLulu, can't have DontBringLulu or the pedants will tell me off for not having an apostrophe.

bellavita · 13/09/2009 14:06

Sorry Syc and Flamingo - it had to be done. The last time they were done was the day before my op. I hate filth. But... I have come downstairs with my pillow and announced to all (not sure if they actually understood its meaning) but I said that is it, I cannot physically do anymore today. DH (without looking at me - still watching the Grand Prix) said well sit down then love. Soooo, when it comes to tea time and the pork is still sat uncooked in the fridge...

But I do hear what you are saying and I will obey orders from now on

Mmmm, what kind of biscuit was it Flamingo?

bellavita · 13/09/2009 14:09

Lulu - my new job is 25 hours per week, but last week with it being my first week I did just short of 40 hours just so I could get to grips with everything.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:14

Oh Bella, exhausting. Don't worry about tea, get a takeaway or see what's in the freezer. sorry, getting to know everyone...how old are your dc?

bellavita · 13/09/2009 14:18

Takeaways don't help the old diet though do they? > There are things in the freezer, but nothing cooked.

My boys are 12 (Yr8) and nearly 10 (yr5).

How about your DC's?

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:22

dd is 4 (reception) and ds is 7 (year 3).

I suppose a takeaway may be ok if you stick to boiled rice and something, but I probably need a slap on the wrist for leading anyone astray!!

bellavita · 13/09/2009 14:27

You will be let off seeing as you are new!

Once my knee is better, I am hoping to do a bit more exercise. The school I work at has a sports centre attached and they are having a pool built, so hopefully once it is finished, I can go swimming or maybe use the gym.

I did used to do 5 spin classes during the week (and do a gym session before each class) and it was great because it meant I could eat practically anything and not put weight on. But I had a friend that joined who was not really that serious about it all and she wanted to chat etc and both of us go together and I lost all enthusiasm for it.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:37

Bella, what a fantastic perk of the job. My dh has a gym at his work, do you have to pay for it, and if so, is there discount?

I have let things badly slip, I used to run 10K races and have even done the Great South Run. Spinning is a big calorie burner, but I haven't done it for a long time as the bike collapsed under me last time, and I hurt myself!! It's quite funny now, but it wasn't at the time.

TrillianAstra · 13/09/2009 14:37

I have been poisoned.

Horrible hangover.

Reading through, hope you all had good Saturdays.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:45

I sympathise. Lots of water? What were you drinking?

TrillianAstra · 13/09/2009 14:49

Drinking wine at BBQ and then cocktails. They were yummy though. Have had pasta but it didn't work its usual magic. Loved the song lyric competition by the way

bellavita · 13/09/2009 14:53

Lulu - yes will have to pay, but it is discounted . I have just laughed to myself - have this image in my head of you in a heap on top of a bike, but I can sooo imagine that it was sooo not funny at the time.

MissTrill - have a lie down my lovely and yes do as Lulu says and drink lots of water..

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:57

Yes, great fun

I would suggest hair of the dog, but I've already said get a take away to Bella, so may be putting my foot in it today....

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 14:58

By all, I'm off to sort the washing. Boo. See ya later.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/09/2009 14:59

Afternoon all

We are lucky, the nearest take away is 7.5 miles away so not hugely conducive to haveing them very often.

Today I have had beans on toast, late breakfast, a slice of toast and ham, and cucumber for lunch and we are having roast chicken for early supper with the DC's.

I have though started clearing the garden as we are having it completely redone over the winter, this has involved some sawing which is raising the heart beat quite nicely (Alice please take note) and will take about 2 months to do completely.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/09/2009 15:01

Bella - agree with the others, you will take much longer to recover if you keep dong everything, better to rest and get better properly quicker.

TrillianAstra · 13/09/2009 15:03

I want to help plan the imaginary party - I'm good at party food!

Cheese and pineapple on sticks anyone?
