Eat fruit and vegetables - 10/10 thread BOOTCAMP, all welcome

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello, how was dd2s first day at school abw? My dd2 has just started too. I have no idea what she's been doing though, as she tells me nothing.

ABitWrong · 07/09/2009 21:24

she okay,i went with her on bus, shewants to go without me tomorrow
sheis a bit annoyed cos she didnt learn anything today

how about you/yours?

Boco · 07/09/2009 21:36

Yes she said she didn't do any learning either. But she says she can't remember what she did do. But she did get a reading book which she's read 7 times tonight. She looks too small to be in a uniform.

FrayedKnot · 07/09/2009 21:36

DS doesn;t tell me anything either, apparently it's boring

He's not been at all keen to go back, we've had hour long negotiations in the mornings involving explanations of why he must go

SuperBunny · 07/09/2009 21:36

Mmm, pear cider.

I had a local cider yesterday, made by Piddle Brewery. I went up to the bar and said, 'half a Wobbly Willy, please"

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 07/09/2009 21:41

Only a half a wobbly willy, SB?

Shame!

Although of course if it was wobbly then maybe you were wise

Apologies for lowering the tone

ABitWrong · 07/09/2009 21:47

mmm, willies.... i heartvmaximus

SuperBunny · 07/09/2009 22:00

FK

It was about 11 on a Sunday morning and I had company - it didn't seem like the right time for more than half a willy, wobbly or otherwise. I wish I had a maximus to drool over.

dogonpoints · 07/09/2009 22:02

I know I could never go to a bar and ask for Wobbly Willy. I'd rather ask for babycham

SuperBunny · 07/09/2009 22:02

DS can never remember what he did at nursery and gets really pissed off if I ask probing questions. Tonight he asked me what I did at work so I told him and then he said, "But did they learn you to hop on one foot?" He seemed quite disappointed to learn that they hadn't.

FrayedKnot · 07/09/2009 22:09

I read somehwere that you should never ask them directly about what they did and just say that you are really pleased to see them when you pick them up.

I must say I don;t really ask now.

On DS' first day back this term, he just said

"Well I had a little cry, Mummy, and then I felt MUCH better"

That made me gulp

SuperBunny · 07/09/2009 22:16

Oh, FK He sounds so lovely.

I think I have read that too - about not asking them. But how else do I know what he did? Or does it not matter? As long as he seems happy... I do read the little report they send home every day and say things like, "Ooo, you had cake today!" and that helps but he really won't give much info other than he played with a boy named Artichoke (I think he means Archie) and girl named Coconut...
