I don't think it does to take it too seriously VT. It's supposed to be about adjusting long-term attitudes rather than going crazy and living off just snakajaks and apples.

bellavita · 20/06/2009 11:53

Well done Flamingo [smile

VT - Maybe you need to rest your foot..

DH has just asked if I want a sausage buttie, but have declined.

TrillianAstra · 20/06/2009 12:10

Well done resisting the sausages bella!

bellavita · 20/06/2009 12:44

Thanks Trillian. I had some beans on toast instead. Still hungry, but I have not had any fruit yet.

The last one sounds a bit harsh Shiney, he sounds like delicate flower so I think you should let him down gently

(definitely no penguin trips this time okay? )

Hi gang,

Welcome Ponymum - you sound like you have a lot on your plate so don't go too hard on yourself.

Weight loss post baby I found very hard as you are permanently exhausted and that tends to make one reach for the carbs....

I've had a sausage sandwich for lunch but no butter. Had a lot of bread today as have been tired and in a rush.

Vinegar - sorry about your gain but don't let that big fat hairy diet monster put you off your stride.

You can do this. You just need to get focussed. Maybe a bit more planning? Do you often know what you're having for your main meals or is it all a bit figure it out along the way?

I used to think I wasn't a planner. For ages I thought dieting worked better when I was spontaneous.

Now I find out that like Pretty Woman, I am a planner, I'm definitely a planner.

Trite Truism alert: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Bon voyage for the weekend on your river of reduced calories

Shine - good luck with Man A today. Miserable business letting someone down isn't it?

My child will not sleep. He is now down for his afternoon nap and will not stay in bed.

I think you guys are right - time to give it up and accept that stage is over. Sigh.

sazzles - he's here trying to help me post lol! He likes the little emoticons to the side of the message box.

My mum is here with DD downstairs and DH is at the post office - when he's back am going to half half and hour lie down before I have to be at the fete again at 3pm....

He had his first haircut this morning.

DH said he looks like he's about to sign up lol.

Cycled to Sainsburys, got stuff to mkae salad for BBQ later, and found offers on chicken adn peppers, so now have stocked up to make lots of the spicy chicken noodles. DP said he was happy to have them 3 times a week when I told him how low in calories they were! They are pretty tasty, definitely better than quorn fillets!

Sazzles do some running on the spot, or seacrh on FF for an 'exercise' that is something that you would be dong anyway, and get yoruself some extra free cals.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 20/06/2009 15:06

Not sure I am going to be any good at this.

Breakfast was a slimfast bar and milkshake (might as well use them up.)
Lunch was a ribeye sandwich with onions and mushrooms.
Dinner - not hungry atm and planning something very small.

TrillianAstra · 20/06/2009 15:11

WHy do you not think you will be any good? Steak sandwich sounds yummy.

I look enormous at the moment, around the middle, so I am not looking at myself anymore.

TrillianAstra · 20/06/2009 15:31

BBQ is not today. Is tomorrow. I am very silly.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 20/06/2009 16:22

Fabbakergirl - you can do this, really you can.

Think about how lunch ended up being steak sandwich...were you out at a restaurant, or did you rustle it up at home.

In other words, was there intent or did you just make the not entirely best choice when faced with a menu?

Think about how you might make a better choice next time. eg. if you are going to a restaurant, look at the menu online in advance and decide what you are having. Or committ in your mind to either salad or fish.

I had it at home. I thought it was a good choice as it was a decent sized lunch and would mean I would only need a small dinner.

Breakfast like a king
Lunch like a prince
Dinner like a pauper

mistlethrush · 20/06/2009 16:58

FBG - it wasn't a bad choice - so don't be hard on yourself. However, it would have been a better choice if it had been an open sandwich - or even a steak and salad with a bit of bread....

TrillianAstra · 20/06/2009 17:00

Are you FFing Fab? I find it useful to know for definite where my excess calories are coming from. And sometimes surprising things are calorific - I was tp see that the amont of pasta that I consider 'a portion' has way more than my 'portion' of potatoes. I still eat pasta a lot though, I just have to be aware of it.

I have also come to confess - I am baking cheese scones right now. It's TrinityRhino's fault. I think they will be yummy though.

flamingobingo · 20/06/2009 17:13

Fab you absolutely can do this! With FF you can decide where you want your calories to go. I'm having pizza at Pizza Hut tonight, and have just adjusted the rest of my food so I can 'afford' it calorie-wise.

A tip - plan the day's food at the beginning of the day. Then you can decide where to have smaller portions or swap something for something less calorific.

I've been out with my parents and left it too late to run now . Never mind - I'm running 4 times per week as it is - missing one won't be the end of the world.

I've also been thinking about how to get toned as well as light. I've been doing crunches after each running session anyway. I've just discovered a great yoga dvd I bought ages ago - kind of power yoga type thing - so I'm going to do that on my non-running days 'cos I can do that at home with the children.
