Ah, I've come back too late to catch any of you - never mind.
Have been reading the thread - it's fab. You are all amazing and are giving each other such great advice.
My meal was fantastic, but I'm not going to bang on about it because listing all the great foods is not going to help you all at all and also, I made middling choices so just want to put it behind me. It was delicious, I feel a bit too full - the polenta cake was from another planet
Poor Shiney - ill and with Aunty Sycamore not around to plump your cushions and give you a bottle of Lucozade with your favourite curly wurly straw . Really hope you are feeling better.
Sazzles - Lighter life works because its so few calories (500) your body goes into ketosis. Listen, it's really not the most sensible way to lose weight. I did it - it worked for me, but you really have to be in a place where you feel desperate to try it I think. I'm an advocate of the counselling more than anything.
I had/still have a great LL counsellor and it's keeping me on the straight and narrow ish.
WW points system accounts for saturated fat in combination with calories - which is something I'm not sure Food Focus does- but someone put me right if I've got that wrong.
It could be your body needs to respond to less saturated fat? You could need to drink more water. You might have a body that just really does not like wheat or refined white flour and sugars....you might need to do some elimination and see what happens. Sorry, it's tedious, but you really strike me as committed so I think you have it in you to try these different things out.
If you don't get satisfaction and results there really is no shame in going to your GP. They will applaud you doing something about health and will hopefully have professional answers to your frustrating situations.
Keep going because it's never a waste putting good healthy food into your body. This is not just about vanity - this is about healthy, long lives
lightshines your post really struck a chord with me. I would second what others have said about slim fast, you can get just as great a boost to your weight loss by doing a really healthy real food diet with minimal carbs for e.g.
Is something like Weight Watchers affordable? The BIGGEST thing I have learned so far on my weight loss journey is that it's actually not about losing weight, as your post will testify.....it's about keeping it off once you get there. And to be honest, that's got MASSES to do with how you re-programme your thinking around food and how you use it.
In other words. If you're sad, cry and call a sympathetic friend. Do not eat 2 pints of Ben and Jerrys. If you're tired, go to bed. Do not order late night Dominos and extra buffalo wings. Do you see what I mean? I've tried to educate myself a bit about NLP (neuro linguistic programming). It's HARD, because I'm a natural sceptic and really do not want to accept that it works. But some of it really has helped me....but I'm 18 months in from my big weight loss and still learning.
Am using WW at the moment as it suits me now. But if it starts not suiting I will just search out something else that does.
I like projects - that's my mentality. While I'm on project Weight Loss i'm pretty ok - like you. It's project staying slim that I need to keep working at
Bella you are so adorable and I just feel so for you re your boss. Is there a really good logistical reason for you working evenings rather than a more regular day job? I know it's hard to think about moving jobs in the current climate but I'm sure between us on this thread we might have some decent ideas of how to get you into somewhere altogether more decent. You deserve it
Right, time for me to sleep off my strawberry Belini, dream about my Dorset Crab spaghetti and get ready to face a day of carb withdrawal tomorrow.
Got DD's sports day first thing, so will be on here again around midday.
Peace out you concave goddesses
