For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes Lemur you are quite right - and it is when you have directly benefited - or ds1 did - you realize it's important. You are quite right. Okay, I will go and give blood now.

mollyroger · 18/06/2009 19:52

she talks so hip, she's twisting my melons, man!

after wearing glasses isnce I was 7, I have only discovered in the past 5 years that I look far better wearing glasses which definitely look like glasses - thick, dark frames, not apologetic, mousey ''pretend they're not there'' wire frames etc....

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2009 19:52

twisting my melon man
ie "played with my perception and confused me"

FrannyandZooey · 18/06/2009 19:53

lol double twisting post

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/06/2009 19:54

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/06/2009 19:55

ahundredtimes · 18/06/2009 20:01

Yes Molly I agree, and this was ds1's revelation too, just this very day.

Well, dd and I just listened to your link. She said, 'it's a bit odd. What is the name of the person talking?' then we listened a bit more, then she YAWNED, and said 'it's nice'. Ooh am rushing off to buy. Thank you for that

mollyroger · 18/06/2009 20:40

Am ponderig the How Do I Feel cd for volcanic ds. But having heard the sample I fear I might be drive to punch someone if I had to listen to it often. It is rather earnest...

Anyone got any cheap ideas for 'Ivory' wedding anniversry next week? Obviously, actual ivory is not an option

SuperBunny · 18/06/2009 20:43

Well, since we are being funny about mugs, I do have preferences - some for tea and some for coffee. NEVER put coffee in a tea mug. And also, some that are for me only and others that I won't drink from.

I used to give blood but they won't take British blood over here so I can't.

I read the sharing thread to being with and it seemed quite sensible.

SuperBunny · 18/06/2009 20:44

Ivory for Molly

mollyroger · 18/06/2009 20:49

no! No! NO! NNOOOOO!!!!

sorry SB, you have inadvertandly mentioned one of those records which make me want to claw out my own brain with a soup spoon

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 18/06/2009 20:49

Helloo!

I am fussy about mugs and which drink I have from which mug, at wich particular time of day.

I can't give blood because I spent 3 months in a hospital that was linked to an isolation unit and the 'giving blood doctor' wouldn't have it that I was in because I had spinal injuries. (only a small section of the hospital was still used as an isolation ward) He insisted that I carried a nasty contageous disease and blacklisted me. I haven't tried for a couple of years but I got fed up of trying, and I am one of the less common types, it got very frustrating. I am organ donor registered as well, at least they want those.

My glasses are pale lime green and I love them.

Ds is coming home for lunch at the moment and I took him out for a pub lunch. He made me laugh singing inappropriate political songs and doing rather good impressions of a dodgy fan belt as cars with windows open went past!

He said he was enjoying the me and him time, which was fab to hear.

I had a gadget that did those therapeutic noises as I don't sleep well, and it was great. I loved the heavy rain one.

I am not grazing I am afraid. I have this thing about buying locally as much as possible, but it does sound like a lovely idea.

I really have to work as I am crazily busy but am missing coming on here, all sound perky,

sorry for not catching up with all news but would be a longer post.. x

pointydog · 18/06/2009 20:53

glad to see mugs are still under discussion. I have never thought much about mugs, but now that I am, I am discovering I am a bit mug-freaky.

I have tea mugs and small coffee ones too, bunny. I shout out to a fellow pointy, 'no, make me a coffee in a small mug' and have been known to decant coffee that was not in the right cup.

pointydog · 18/06/2009 20:54

I should have known we are all bloody speccies.

Unfortunately my face cannot carry a bold style. I wear a neat wire at top and rimless below pair.

SuperBunny · 18/06/2009 20:55

Molly. Sorry!

Mits, I'm so glad you and DS had a lovely day.

I sneaked a peek at my sister's graze box for tomorrow and am

SuperBunny · 18/06/2009 20:58

I would definitley pour coffee from the wrong mug into the right one. Drinks taste horrible if they are from the wrong mug.

My specs are small-ish wirey ones with pinky purpley rims. I can't see when I wear them nor can I see when I don't.

Oh, I saw the dermatologist today who helpfully said, "You are allergic to something" They want to do an allergy patch test but can't do it for 3 weeks. When I will be moving. What's the chances of getting it done through the NHS?

Guadalupe · 18/06/2009 21:06

I have a coffee mug and a herbal flagon as well.

I don't wear glasses, though I think my eyes do need testing.

Guadalupe · 18/06/2009 21:09

Lucky you, MW. They don't grow pineapple and cashews near me.

pointydog · 18/06/2009 21:09

oo you don't wear glasses, guada? Good on you

pointydog · 18/06/2009 21:10

Can't be doing with everyone being speccy
