Hi

I've just read with interest all the comments made by women who've found lumps in their breasts.

I've been on citalopram since last september as I was diagnosed with depression on my return from Menorca.

I had the worse two week holiday ever as I was convinced that I had breast cancer as I'd read articles in womans magazines about their experience with breast cancer and what the symptons were...deadly mistake!

I have been obsessed since about checking myself while I'm in the shower and found a lump about 2 weeks ago..

I went to see my doctor last thursday and have my appointment tomorrow at 9.15.

I found the comments so helpful as I knew what to expect from a leaflet but it's good to hear from people who've already gone thru it.

I would like to say how grateful I am for finding this website.

Although still nervous I have remain positive, we have no family history of cancer and I've been taken off my antidepressants so feeling quite anxious anyway.

Thanks again and I will update the website after my appointment tomorrow.

sicknote-will be thinking of you tomorrow. I too had myself dead and burried when I found my lump-it is the natural reaction-but I am sure you will find that everything is ok as so many of us have on this thread.

Hi Sicknote here....

I had the examination, mammogram, ultrasound and needle biopsy and was told that they are 99.9% sure that it's not breast cancer.

Referred for core biopsy last monday just so as to give me the 100% all clear and won't get the results till this monday but feeling fairly positive.

Cannot fault my local hospital as the doctor and nurse made me feel at ease and the xray department were great too. Had the core biopsy done by a female doctor and nurse and although I had stiches and have a phobia with needles I had no pain and the needle issue didn't seem to matter.

Thank god for the NHS as I cannot thank them enough and had to listen to some woman complaining that she had to wait an hour for the test results...I would've waited all day to have the results there and then.

Having a chat with my doctor tomorrow as I'm having awful withdrawal symptons since coming off citalopram and just want to know when they might stop! Keep thinking that the pains are something more serious...silly really have to keep telling myself that these are pains I've had since my riding accident 22 years ago.
