For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol @ I've never seen a dwarf so happy. I saw Snow White when I was about 7 and was scared witless by the evil stepmother. I think somethings affect people in different ways and it's not always easy to tell what those things are.

I also remember sobbing my heart out at ET. I think I was about 6 or 7. It still gets me now tbh

Bunny, do you want to talk about ds or not? I don't want to upset you, but I don't want to ignore it either.

banana
juice
asparagus
pepper
courgette
pepper
mushrooms
cabbage
apple
tomato
c ucumber

Probably about 8 portions.

FrannyandZooey · 06/06/2009 19:24

LOL "i've never seen a dwarf so happy"

i think the museum thing sounds interesting but too scary unfortunately
i think it will have to be a U cert - he really does get scared easily
molly the parental advisory thing a great idea
content in the one you linked to maybe less good
"2 scenes were you see angels buts"
LOL i am not taking MY son to any film were you see angels buts

FrannyandZooey · 06/06/2009 19:30

have investigated night at the museum 2
there are about 15 things just in the trailer that would have him wanting to leave
it did however appear to have owen wilson in it
like a tiny little owen wilson you can put in your pocket
hmmm
maybe ds1 WOULD like to go after all
i may take him

SuperBunny · 06/06/2009 19:35

I think ET was the first film I saw at the cinema - I was about 7. I cried the whole time. I still do

Lemur, I don't mind talking about it. It's Day One and I am twiddling my thumbs already. I will see him for 45 mins on Wednesday [sad smile]

FrannyandZooey · 06/06/2009 19:42

i cried lots at ET

UP looks excellent - i would like to see it myself

bunny i don't know what's going on with ds but i hope it will be ok
45 mins on wednesday sounds very hard

SuperBunny · 06/06/2009 19:54

He's not with me for the next 5 weeks, Franny

FrannyandZooey · 06/06/2009 20:12

yes, but i don't know why, and i don't know if we are not meant to ask
i don't want to put my foot in it but like lemur said don't want to ignore
i hope the 5 weeks passes quickly for you both
i know you have such a close relationship

FrayedKnot · 06/06/2009 20:24

Oh Bunny

Can you tell us more? Sorry if you can;t. Have you got things planned to do during the 5 weeks?

Franny DS has never been to cinema for similar reasons. When we were staying with my Mum recently, for some madcap reason (wouldn;t normally) I told DS that my Mum's rocking horse comes alive at night and gallops off across the fields. He was petrified and wouldn;t open the curtains in the morning in case he caught a glimpse of it.

So I doubt he'll ever watch those Night at the Museum things.

He did see some of the Little Mermaid at school the otehr day (not quite sure why they were watching it - something to do with fish ) and he was obviously very impressed by it, because he didn;t stop talking about it for two days.

Do you have a childrens cinema club type thing on near you? We have a Sunday morning double bill thingie.

FrannyandZooey · 06/06/2009 20:36

i don't know - i will check
he has recently watched some things on tv: wallace and grommet (scared of robot dog but otherwise a success)
jungle book - fine
going to watch gruffalo stage show on dvd tomorrow (have seen in rl so will be fine)

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 06/06/2009 20:56

SB......(((((((())))))))).

DD loves superheroes..batman, superman etc.

I tried to run but since coming off painkillers have rediscovered some old injuries.. I have a fat ankle.

I cleaned nearly all day, it felt cathartic.

I have discovered we7 for music, it is bit like you-tube but more complicated. Very comprehensive though.

It's nothing big - every year, DS will get to spend his summer here with his Dad. Which I am sure will be lovely. But I can't help feeling it is a little unfair on a 3 yr old to not see his mother for so long. Of course, this is pure selfishness - DS will be fine. It's just me being miserable

blueberries
more sultanans
tomatoes

SIX so far

mollyroger · 06/06/2009 23:35

Franny, ds1 ws terrified at jungle book
It's the bit when mowgli floats off down stream on a raft and the monkeys swing him up into the treees.
Cue nightmares for months that monkeys would come and steal him...!

Oddly, he is obsessed by monkeys now.

littlerach · 07/06/2009 05:57

SB, I would be miserable too.
At least you'l be miserable here in the rain and clouds though

I have barely slept as I knew I had otbe up for car boot sale and it is yuck.

TooTicky · 07/06/2009 09:09

Ds1 was scared of the badger in Bodger and Badger when he was extremely small, then went on to have a badger obsession...

Dp appears to be taking all 4 children to the boot sale. I have snuck back into bed with tea, toast and muesli.

oh i see bunny
well am relieved it is something straightforward but
"I can't help feeling it is a little unfair on a 3 yr old to not see his mother for so long"
i agree! and not selfish at all! but you said you will see him briefly this week - will you see him a few times over the period?

TooTicky · 07/06/2009 09:24

Good morning Franny

pinkspottywellies · 07/06/2009 09:30

SB but at least it's a solution.

Franny, they have kids screenings here too and they have the lights up a little and the sound lower, to get them used to it.

Did I mention how yummy the cherries were?

DD has a new blackout blind. And she's still asleep

pinkspottywellies · 07/06/2009 09:31

Morning all! TooT that sounds lovely
