For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ooo, I may be able to swish samphire this summer. Maybe!

mollyroger · 15/05/2009 20:01

actually, I'm a little hurt at not being considered an earth mother.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:04

you give me grief, guad, all the time gathering samphire from the marshes?!

I don't know what samphire is. Don';t tell me - I'll look it up.

You are a 1.5. ANo0ther category might be needed.

SuperBunny · 15/05/2009 20:06

Molly, you were classed a hippy. That is above and beyond an Earth Mother, I think.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:07

yes, above and beyond

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:07

Samphire gathering does not a hippy maketh. Everyone does it in north norfolk, from the locals to the london-on-sea meedja types to the swishers.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:08

really?

norfolk sounds more and more like another country

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:08

but only the hardcore cook it in a pot with stookey blues by their bus.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:09

I have never been to norfolk. Am now suspicious of norfolk

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:09

You should be.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:09

I don't understand that.

I have a cold and this norfolk talk is making my head swim even more

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:10
Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:11

You are the one talking the norfolk talk with your 'giving me grief'. Or was that unintentional?

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:12

though it sounds more like 'starp givven meeh greef, boy'.

littlerach · 15/05/2009 20:13

Molly, no photos on this one, thank god.

The lasat one I did was by a social worker who had photos and stories and all.
Thsi one was much less personal; but drew details from Soham and Baby P and Victoria Climbie which is obviously topical.

Pointy, safeguarding children course.

Um guess I am 2 ish. Am not sensible enough to be with 100
Ask TooT! Actually, don't!!!

I am asking my mate in Suffolk if she gathhers samphire.

SuperBunny · 15/05/2009 20:13

Mmmm, stookey blyes.

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:15

lol - I had no idea giving me grief was norfolk. My knowledge of norfolk is nil. I have no idea what people say there. It is still a mystery part of the UK to me.

I think I menioned it once last year as a possible holiday destination to dh. He looked at me blankly, mumbled something about a barge holiday to the norfolk broads when he was a boy and said it would take an age to drive there. Must admit, I was as blank as him.

SuperBunny · 15/05/2009 20:15

LR, what do you do?

pointydog · 15/05/2009 20:17

ah ok, we call it child protection up here.

  1. hippies: toot, moll
  2. mother earth and other leanings: fran, avi, boco, moveit, bunny, guada, rach
  3. fussy and swishy: (no one yet. I'll give you samphire)
  4. straight up and down, no twists: 100, guada, pink
mollyroger · 15/05/2009 20:19

Add yourself to 3 pointy??

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2009 20:23

FrannyandZooey · 15/05/2009 20:24

Guadalupe · 15/05/2009 20:27

lolol at 'I'll give you samphire'. You should try it, it's slippery and salty, not unlike asparagus.
