For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

god extract of malt is heinous
i never did eat it

i was always getting bronchitis as well, which i think was connected with the extract of malt
of course in retrospect the fact my mother smoked around me all the time might have had more to do with it than a lack of extract of malt

2 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp cacao butter
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp cashew nut butter
1 big dollop agave syrup

melt cacao butter and coconut oil very gently, stirring all the time. mix in agave syrup, then cacao powder and cashew nut butter. pour into ice cube tray and freeze for 20 mins, slavering gently all the while. then eat smugly. and stickily because it melts at room temp.

the ingredients are mostly by those raw food nutters proponents. you know, that shazzie person.

TooTicky · 21/04/2009 13:43

Hurrah for lumpy breasts!!!

And I managed to get there with no real tears, just a few, no panic attacks and no awful htoughts. So that si good too.

I have had asparagus and pea Higgidy Pie to celebrate. Actually it was a quiche. And salad. And carrot cake.
Yum.

Mits sorry about your appointment - sounds like there was something positive there though, perhaps?

Hurrah for LR's lumpy breasts!

Franny - Yum. How does one pronounce agave?

Boco · 21/04/2009 14:43

Good news LR! So pleased you can stop worrying.

Mitsubishi, that sounds crazily unprofessional of your surgery to pretend you were urgently required to get test results when there weren't any and it was something else! Especially if it's an appointment about mental health - the stress of thinking you had worrying test results for a start! I think i'd want to talk to practice manager about that, v. bad.

Tatties · 21/04/2009 14:56

Oh good news Rach

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 21/04/2009 16:02

Lol at Frannies link......at that angle even I have got cleavage lol....

LR...I am so pleased for you...

And yes, I was stunned at getting to the surgery and not getting results, it was implied that due to the delicate nature of things at home they were uncertain if H knew I had been referred, The surgery have been very supportive overall and I am in two minds as to whether saying anything would gain anything under the circumstances. And I am a little overwhelmed.
I am getting advice on H. Everything is a mess. But DC's wellbeing is paramount.

But I had a food fight with toot all afternoon by text so am 'virtually' covered in blancmange and rotting food stuffs and smiling.

A simple soul at heart.

And the gods are smiling at me cos my webdesigner is going to organise a weblog link to my site. I hope my guardian angel is magnificently gorgeous as well as thoughtful.

I also had the most delightful mooncup discussion with DD last night. She is fascinated and WILL NOT be fobbed off. She appears to have figured out for herself how babies are made and i wept with laughter at her comically demonstrated impression of the whole process. I hope she doesn't take it on herself to educate her classmates.

ahundredtimes · 21/04/2009 17:08

Oh fantastic news LR! What a relief.

MW how confusing, they left a message did they? Why couldn't they just ask you to ring for an appointment? Am pleased they are being supportive generally though. It all sounds v. difficult for you, hope things start to resolve themselves.

Franny (god, I'm doing that listing names thing) - 3 stone sounds about right? Is he tall? DD is 3 stone, and she's seven, but not particularly tall. Anyway, it certainly doesn't sound underweight - I think they are supposed to look like that.

DS2 has brought home a letter from his teacher all about working towards the growth mindset and ignoring the nasty old fixed mindset. Stickers, merits, awards - begone! Never tell your child they are clever, praise the hard work. Is all v. 10/10 . He says it might change our lives I approve.

Guadalupe · 21/04/2009 17:18

Hmm. Well, even if they are being supportive, it is highly inappropriate and frankly weird to call someone in to discuss serious test results, which would suggest bad news, and then say, actually, it was ruse to get you here without your dh knowing. Couldn't they have phoned you?

If I were you I would have to say, that as kind as their intentions may have been, leaving someone wondering if they have cancer overnight and then not actually having any results when you get there is really bloody out of order. Getting a letter calling you in to discuss results implies the biopsy of the loop is bad news. I don't get their reasoning. It doesn't make sense.

Guadalupe · 21/04/2009 17:20

100x - I read that as dh and I are on formaldehyde at first glance!

I have walked a lot today. And eaten mini tangle twisters. Mmm, they are lovely.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 21/04/2009 17:36

Do you know that there is no limit?

My DS has been in a state and I assumed it was from saturday night. But, it came to light that someone had pushed him over and kicked him on sunday night.

I decided to follow it up as he has been bullied before and the girl had left a mark on his back.
Her stepmum brought her to the door to discuss it, and eventually asked the girl why she had kicked my DS.
And the girl replied, with a shrug, that 'everyone was doing it'.
And it transpires that about 4 of them were kicking him whilst he was on the ground.

I am contacting parentline tomorrow because I have no idea how to cope with all this........

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2009 17:39

qu'est ce que c'est tangle twisters?

sb you kind of fudge it and say "a-garv-ay" but mumble the last bit so it sounds like you might just have coughed
