For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

As a relatively newby vegger, it is unlikely that I will be able to afford to come to the meet up... .

It would be so lovely to put bodies to the names and faces. Maybe by the next one I will be better off and have sorted my life out.

No.

Strike that.

The next time you have one I WILL have sorted my life out and be able to come and meet you all....

Banana,
mushrooms,
tomatoes,
onions,
green beans,
raspberries,
blackberries,
pear x2.
juice....

A good romping walk. Saw a little flock of Goldcrests.... and bunnies leaping in the evening light. The view over the village was extraordinary. The air quality is often bad because of the high volume of traffic, but it does do magical things to the light at times.

FrayedKnot · 18/04/2009 18:59

Lots of housework

Dried fruit
apple
hoummus
lettuce
aubergine
courgette
strawbs

I am hoping to come to the meet up with DS. It is a long way for you Tatties...I hope you can come. Would you not come with DS on your own?

Going for a "free" day out to local farm museum tomorrow if I can find the entry tickets that we last used in August 2008

TigerFeet · 18/04/2009 19:26

cucmber, radish, tomato, grapes, coleslaw, beetroot, onion, pepper, mushroom soup

c&p from email to Avi re meetup... "I have it in the back of my head that is taken, but could be because it's dh's birthday so I had mentally bookmarked the weekend after it... I will rack my brains and let you know"

Clearly what is missing from my life is a diary

TigerFeet · 18/04/2009 19:39

oooh melon, I have melon in the fridge

I had a white bread roll that was smothered in poppy seeds with my tea, god it was lovely, all it needed was some real butter to set it off beautifully

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2009 19:44

we went on birdsong walk thing
was intensely irritating (after being woken up for day at 5.30 am most things were intensely irritating)
was old geezer with strong country accent who took us for wander around nature reserve and stopped every couple of minutes, on narrow footpaths where you could only walk single file, to mutter "chaffinch"
of course only the people right next to him could hear anything he said
even when i jostled to nearer the front i couldn't hear or understand half of what he was saying
when i DID understand what he was saying it was kind of rapid pointing and muttering
"chaffinch - blackcap - robin"
i was so childishly disappointed - i had been looking forward to it for ages and it cost £5 each including ds1!
after a bit of sulking dp and I started yelling "WHAT???" each time he muttered, and then "WHICH ONE???" when he said "chiff chaff" or whatever
actually the chiff chaff is the only one i think i can still remember as it actually says chiff chaff, which is cool

and THEN
we heard a nightingale for about 10 minutes and it made the most extraordinary sounds and it was fab and all was well

so there
harrumph / beam

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2009 19:45

tiger feet me too
white bread
poppy seeds
butter
yum

OP posts:
littlerach · 18/04/2009 19:55

I would like to hear a nightingale

We hear owls quite a lot here and they really sound liek an owl. That sounds absurd, but i know what I mean

We think we have blue tits nesting in dds boxes, they are thrilled.

Carrots
pepper
humous
banana
banana chips
lasgane with
lentils (and dds ate it )
green pepper
tomatoes
sweetcorn

Have strolled round garden and flew through supermarket.
And tried to catch Timmy Twitch.
And replanted sunflowers.
Must count for some exercise

About to watch The Wire Season 2 with dh and eat sticky toffee pudding (with clotted cream - dh is a devonshire lad).

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/04/2009 19:56

blueberries
banana
dried fruit
oj
salad leaves
tomatoes
cucumber
pepper
onion
pineapple

Baby Lemur and I went for a lovely walk with my niece and nephew along the Stour estuary. The sun was shining and there was a breeze, twas lovely.

That's the first time I've done 10/10 for ages

Was your ds up with the dawn chorus Franny. It starts at about 5.15 here and by 5.30 it is very very loud. It's beautiful to hear, but maybe at 7.30 instead of 5.30!!

littlerach · 18/04/2009 19:56

Oooh, I have a melon in the fruit basket.

Melon~sticky toffee pudding...

Melon~sticky toffee pudding...

Melon~sticky toffee pudding...

Melon~sticky toffee pudding...

Nope, sticky toffee pudding wins.

melon tomorrow.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/04/2009 19:59

How is Timmy Twitch LR? I bloody love clotted cream, especially on a warm brownie or with a cream tea.

nickytwotimes · 18/04/2009 20:03

Evening all.
Just a flying visit while the bath is runnign - dh wants to watch a film tonight, so I feel obliged to join him, lol. ALso, I must have heard the words 'sticky toffee' whispered through the ether.

Day ou ttoday, so a bit lacking:
OJ
humous
roast peppers
big salad

ahem.

littlerach · 18/04/2009 20:04

Warm sticky toffe pudding is divine.

Timmy Twitch is a delight.
My neighbour keeps popping her head over the fence to look at him
He has been in his run most of the day and looked os titchy.
But he is v fast and hard ti catch. Dh couldn't get hin out the run yesterday so lifted it up and TT ran off round the garden which isn't that rabbit proof yet.
It took a while to catch him and dh tripped over some netting and cut his foot and dd2 was upset in caes TT escaped and it went on Quite A While

Bet you wish you hadn't asked

My friend did comment it wa slike having a baby!

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2009 20:12

god catching bunnies is an epic battle isn't it!

rach i want bluetits nesting

oh we saw a jay; i love jays, i think they might be my favourite birds atm

100 will hate this thread
which is just as well because she won';t see me telling you all about her review in the indy which said

"THIS AUTHOR IS GOOD AT SEX"

lolol

do you think that means she shagged the journalist?

OP posts:
TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 18/04/2009 20:18

That is quite an accolade lolol.....I think I'd be happy to get that one for one of my exhibitions 'tho am not quite sure how!!!!

I'm sure I could find some magnificent volunteers lolololol.......

blardy hormones..

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2009 20:20

i changed my mind about the fruit and instead have
carrot
broccoli
mushrooms

with 1000 island to dip into

god it's delicious

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 18/04/2009 20:45

Hurrah for tales of TT the bunny, it puts me in mind of when 100x first got her dog

If you have 1000 island Franny then what you need is cauliflower for dipping, mmmmm. 1000 island is a bit marmitey in this house in that everyone either loves it or hates it, fortunately I am the only one that loves it

Mitsu I could lend you dh for your nude modelling but somehow I don't think he's quite what you're after

TigerFeet · 18/04/2009 20:49

hahahah @ 100's review

We won't be seeing her nominated for this then/

FrannyandZooey · 18/04/2009 22:14

yes cauliflower is superb isn't it
had forgotten quite how tasty raw broccoli and raw mushrooms were though, they were crisp and fresh and completely delicious
i find good 1000 island hard to get hold of though - only m+s do it and only sporadically

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 18/04/2009 22:37

We just watched Juno... only been meaning to for months and months.

Not quite sure what DH made of it

Have just read the review as well.

SuperBunny · 19/04/2009 00:16

lol @ ahundred shagging random journalists

Bird Walk man sounds like my dad! My childhood was exactly as you described Franny. Walking, stopping, muttering, frantic pointing and the only thing I remember was chiff chaff.

Did work in the allotment this morning
Went singing all day
Off babysitting in a min (for my friend with the 4 page document)
Walked quite a way in silly sparkly flipflops

Pizza (1)
Oreos (6)
Coffee (3)

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 19/04/2009 01:54

I am quite liking your lists SB....soul nourishment!!

Me and DD went to feed the ducks in silly high heeled sandals and it was ace!!
