For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

yes thank you LR, I did put the usual stuff on the bases.
S'pose it is a good thing the dcs prefer homemade......

Guadalupe · 23/03/2009 18:39

Can you finish the story please, 100x, what happened next?

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 18:42

Oh 100x, I golloped the rest of The Book on Saturday morning. It was delicious.
Thank you for giving me a reason to get used to my reading glasses. I have been readaphobing for a bit.

Boco · 23/03/2009 18:49

dd1 must be getting better as she's started MAKING things, which is annoying because she's ill enough to be short tempered and angry and demand making help, which I don't want to give atm because I don't want to make a crocodile from shoe boxes right now. At all.

mango (cunting)
banana
tomatoes
avocado
onion
peppers
grapes

ahundredtimes · 23/03/2009 18:51

Oh thank you for golloping TooT.

Well, she turned back and I said 'look, I'm really sorry but I actually stole two of your prawns' and she looked a bit surprise, and I said 'your salad looks nice' and she said, rather balefully, 'would you like some?' and I said, 'No, no, I just like looking at it. It's really bad I stole the prawns, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to' and she laughed, but thinly, and then sat down at the table and ate her salad, quickly.

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 18:53

Oh 100x

Boco, shall I send my dd2 over? She is an obsessive maker. I'm sure they could occupy each other.

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 18:55

100x, dd1 is amused by the prawn incident...

Boco · 23/03/2009 18:56

No thank you Toot, I have 2 makers already, can I send them to you instead? Am wading through thousands of tiny bits of cut up paper, pipe cleaners, pens, glitter, glue, tape, foam shapes, I skid on them all trying to get anywhere.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/03/2009 18:57

lol @ prawn salad.

Is it Toot and LR who are also laundry freaks? There was a catastrophe today in the Lemur household, the rotary washing line pole snapped! Gah! I had sheets on the line and it was really windy and the fecking thing snapped.

ahundredtimes · 23/03/2009 18:58

Yes, well was very bad form however you look at. Before I did the stealing, I just did staring. And I could see her getting more and more annoyed. I said things like, 'where did you get it from?' and 'have you been to the shops?' and she looked tired and said 'Yes, I have.' And I did more staring and said, 'that's good'.

I never eat lunch. There's never any food for lunch. Her salad was amazing.

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 18:59

Lemur, that is nothing short of a crisis. Did you call the fire brigade?

Boco, it sounds as if you have an ideal set up. She will be on the next train. She will bring her own glitter and stickers.
Oh, and she has a scissor obsession atm.

Boco · 23/03/2009 19:00

Maybe she'd like to join the veg thread 100? She'd be good at listing. And she could vent about the prawn thieving and the staring.

Boco · 23/03/2009 19:00

No no Toot, MY two will be on next train. They'll bring scissors.

stuffitllama · 23/03/2009 19:02

100 I like it
did she put her arm round her plate like a 9 yo trying to stop copying

I've put you all on as friends but really right now my pics are a bit hopeless

100 I don't mind at all ..I suppose I internalise it quite a lot.. I stare and stare at Indian life and Indian life stares back at me. I'm also working out all the time how to feel about it ..it is so very, very different from travelling here. You arrive with a legacy of Raj guilt, and on a visit that never leaves you. But staying for longer, and watching, and reading, things take a new shape, but there is still so much fluctuation, and so much that is pitiable, and so much that is enraging, that it's hard to put words to the pictures.

Anyway. Blah. I'm sure you could!

ahundredtimes · 23/03/2009 19:03

Oh she'd bloody love it, bloody love it. It's all crazy food fads here, and prime eating times, and nutrient rich foods only to be eaten between 8-10 in the morning, and strange blue things being soaked and colonic irrigation. Is all a bit mind bendy. The salad was sensible - for once. I spend a lot of time being sensible and bossy. Athletes have weird relationship with food I've found.

ahundredtimes · 23/03/2009 19:05

Yes, sort of Stuffit. There was possessive plate moving, that's for sure.

oh good, I want to ask questions, but sometimes I think you don't want to. Not sure why, I think that. It's a huge thing you are doing, and I think it must be challenging, for everyone really. And put all your family relationships under strain. Are you surprised at how difficult you find it? I like the way you described it just then, was v. good, I understand how you feel perfectly.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/03/2009 19:05

It is indeed a crisis Peg bucket, everywhere. Clean washing, laying in the border.

I thought I would treat myself to a Brabantia line but they are stupidly expensive. I used to treat myself to sexy shoes and new make-up. Now I get excited about bloody washing lines

Why do you have a healthy athlete living in your house? You should eat lunch.

Guadalupe · 23/03/2009 19:07

You never eat lunch! You must be like, a waif!

littlerach · 23/03/2009 19:08

Gosh, Lemur, did you have to wash it again?

I did think of you and TooT today as I hung out the washing and then again when it rained and i had ot get it in and i sniffed it appreciatingly.

ahundredtimes · 23/03/2009 19:09

Au contraire, am so far from waif like. I then pig out at about 4.00 on peanut butter and toast. I know it's no good, but there isn't anything to eat most of the time. Not sure why. I can't be bothered to think about, I don't want to cook anything, am not sure what I should get in for the week. I don't go out in the day really so don't buy anything each day. I am OBSESSED by time, which I mostly waste.

I drink a lot of coffee too.

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 19:09

I am so tired and dizzy my speech is slurring. Do you think it is okay to go to bed this early?

Boco, I shall expect them bright and early in the morning.
