For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

How do you g about finding such a course Boco, I need one, although I don't think I would make a brilliant insurance broker TBH, maybe a binperson or something.

womblingalong · 04/03/2009 16:04

Course was run by a friend who ran this one for free as a trial, for six of us. It was really interesting - we had to do all these tests to find out what our real values and priorities are first, and then look at what we think we want to do, and what we really want to do, and what we will do. He was very good at picking out the important bits and getting everyone to think about their choices - everyone came out a bit surprised I think, and with a plan!

Well, he's thinking of running it as a 2 day retreat thing with b&b, so, you could come!

It's surprising doing it with other people too, all with very different back grounds, because everyone has ideas and suggestions and see things differently.

Yes, won't really do insurance brokery, but there are other directions and plan isn't the same as it was this morning. It's maybe more realistic.

womblingalong · 04/03/2009 16:40

Can you share your new direction Boco? You sound very positive and focused.

OsmosisBanana · 04/03/2009 16:55

So long fruity bitches. I'm off to see the Kaiser Chiefs and then down to Cornwall for my 25th birthday celebrations.

Won't be coherent for a few days after I spect.

Have fun!!

Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 17:51

Oh, have fun, OB. And Happy Birthday! I was sore about being 30, still am really.

I think I have seen Kaiser Chiefs, at Glastonbury, I think they were very good.

My dinner of ham tortellini is foul, it didn't taste weird the other day so am worried it will make me ill now.

SuperBunny · 04/03/2009 18:09

Hello everyone else
x

I have eaten a banana today. That's it.

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2009 18:31

i had dairy free pasta - god it was totally totally unsatisfying and i can see why i avoided it for 5 weeks

am now feeling hungry, grumpy and deprived
and spoiled

have read 1.5 pages of 100's book
they were completely excellent

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2009 18:33

100 it could be a loooooooooong time before i get enough quiet in my life to actually read this book
this is in no way connected to my desire to read it or the wonderfulness of the 1.5 pages i have so far read

oh my lovely Gnorman friend came round and picked it up and said in tones of great joy "what's THIS?"
i hadn't mentioned it to him
he just thought it looked like a lovely book

SuperBunny · 04/03/2009 18:39

Isn't all pasta dairy-free? I know it is meant to have eggs in it but not dairy.

I will need updates on 100s book.

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2009 18:43

I was just going to give you all an update, and then I realized that I was going to be a bore. A bore in a cravat with a loud voice.

Am v. excited book is Best Things in Life This Month in a magazine. It's next to some washing up liquid (best washing up liquid in life this month) and above a film. Isn't that pleasing? I like the look of the washing-up liquid too, is a Cath Kidston one. Un 10/10 ponce.

Fra - don't worry! God, the pressure on you! I completely understand. Pleased you liked the 1.5 pages you read

I haven't eaten anything today, but I went for a long and bracing walk this afternoon.

Am interested in Boco's day though. Were you helpful with other people's plans too? What kind of plans did they have?

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2009 18:53

hoorah
i want loads of updates
100 the PRESSURE on me ROFL
indeed it is DREADFUL i am traumatised

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2009 18:54

lol. I can feel your hysteria from here

FrannyandZooey · 04/03/2009 18:54

bunny i would normally have it with butter or cheese or pesto or cream
it seems utterly pointless without, tbh

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 18:55

Olive oil?

Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 18:56

You can get dairy free pesto, is very nice.

Are we allowed to know the magazine, 100?

Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 18:58

Have just had heated discussion with Music class lady. She does one other class where there are more boys but it is full. But, tbh, she says, they do all sit down as well.

I don't believe she has only ever experienced children who sit. She says there is one lady in a village who's child runs about and she takes him out when he does. She does know teachers who will just ask the children not to return, she says.

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2009 18:58

I feel the same way about baked potatoes. I don't see the point of them unless filled with slabs of butter. [fat] I might need to do Guad's WW points I think. You lost a lot too didn't you? Do you feel different?

Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 19:00

Yes, I feel THINNER.

Guadalupe · 04/03/2009 19:00

I haven't eaten any butter but I did have brownie for breakfast.

I like olive oil on potatoes too.

ahundredtimes · 04/03/2009 19:01

OMG. How odd. We need Franny's in put on music lesson sing-a-long etiquette.

I have hazy memory of attending many of these, and there was always someone who got up and walked about round the back of the circle, always. There was one who got up and kicked chairs too, and his mother looked upset, and we all said 'oh what does it matter' and I expect I said (too loudly) 'he's kicking in time though, listen.'

She sounds weird, other mothers sound uptight too.
